Mommy,We Got a Husband -
Chapter 213 Just Let Me Die
Alaric turned to look at Cormac in the hospital room, then said to Galatea, "Galatea, you stay in the hospital. I'm going to the police station." "Okay." Galatea responded, but as she saw Alaric about to leave, she hurriedly grabbed his clothes, looking like she had something to say, "Alaric."
"I know." Alaric gently patted the back of her hand to reassure her, "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."
After saying that, Alaric strode out.
When Griffon first entered the prison, his attitude was particularly tough. He acted like everything had nothing to do with him and urged them to finish the investigation quickly and let him go.
But after learning that Ravenna and Orion had both died, Griffon's emotions collapsed. He cried and shouted to be released, but since he was still under investigation, the police couldn't let him go.
Griffon went from stubbornly refusing to admit anything to a complete emotional breakdown, as if he saw no hope in life and was determined to die.
When Alaric saw Griffon, it was a Griffon he had never seen before. Griffon was in utter despair.
"Alaric!" Griffon was unusually agitated upon seeing Alaric. No, it should be said he was furious, as if he wanted to kill him immediately.
"Did you kill my daughter? Was the car accident your doing? Alaric, I tampered with the DNA results back then, and I arranged Galatea's car accident. Yes, it was all me. If you want revenge, come at me. Why did you harm my Orion? I'll kill you!"
Griffon was extremely agitated, and two police officers immediately pinned him down on the table and handcuffed his hands to the table, making him unable to move.
Alaric said, "I'm not as despicable as you. Even if I really wanted revenge, I wouldn't use underhanded tactics like you!"
Hearing Alaric say this, Griffon completely broke down, as if the last string of hatred supporting him had snapped.
All that was left was pain and regret, infinite pain and shame that had destroyed him.
Alaric said bluntly, "Ravenna's death and Orion's death are both your fault. The person who deserves to die the most is you, but you caused their deaths. You can't blame anyone else; this is your retribution!"
Griffon cried bitterly, "My retribution? My retribution? Yes, it's my retribution. I shouldn't have spoiled Orion so unconditionally. I shouldn't have agreed when she insisted on marrying you. I shouldn't have proposed the engagement in the first place. I killed Orion, and you killed her, too!"
At this point, Griffon looked at Alaric with intense hatred.
Griffon roared, "Alaric, you bastard, you're a bastard! Orion loved you so much. She waited for you for three years while you were in a coma. She knew Caspian wasn't her child, but she was willing to be his stepmother to marry you.
If you had cherished her, if you had treated her well, would she have ended up like this? We could have been happy. We could have been a family.
Alaric, it's all your fault. You indirectly caused Orion's death. You destroyed the Nash family. Why didn't you die when you were severely injured back then? If you had died, none of this would have happened! Why did you survive? Why didn't you die?"
Alaric remained silent.
He didn't know why the Nash family and the Knight family had come to this point. The two families would have been old friends.
Griffon cried in agony, utterly despondent, "Alaric, kill me. Just kill me."
Griffon initially thought that Alaric wouldn't find any evidence and that he couldn't be convicted without evidence.
After all the investigations, the police would have to release him, and he would go back to living as he did before. The Nash family would be the same as before.
But suddenly, the Nash family was destroyed, and Griffon's faith was shattered. He couldn't bear the pain of Orion's death.
"Orion is dead, and you want to die. You went from refusing to confess to wanting to die. Have you thought about Cormac?" Alaric questioned loudly.
Alaric continued, "What have you given him from childhood to now? Only unreasonable demands. He had a serious relationship, and you broke it up. Now, he's alone in the hospital, not eating or drinking. Have you asked about him?"
"Cormac?" Griffon laughed again upon hearing this. "Is Cormac my son? He's one of the Knight family, right? That foolish; he always followed you around, thinking of you in everything he did. I repeatedly told him not to get too close to you, but Cormac wouldn't listen. And now? The Nash family is destroyed. Who's to blame? It's you!"
Alaric snapped, "Is it really me who destroyed the Nash family, or did you bring this upon yourself? You're still deluding yourself!"
Griffon laughed again, "Yes, I brought this upon myself. I deserve to die. Alaric, hurry up, let the judge sentence me to death. Let me die, let me die!"
Alaric said viciously, "I won't let you die, even though you truly deserve it! I'll make sure you spend the rest of your life repenting in prison, living a life worse than death."
Griffon laughed and then began to cry uncontrollably, "Let me die, just let me die."
Alaric said nothing and got up to leave.
In fact, he really wanted Griffon to die because Griffon deserved it. But he kept Griffon alive not only to make him repent for the rest of his life but also for Cormac. Ravenna and Orion were both dead. Although Cormac didn't get along with Griffon, Griffon was still his biological father.
If all three of them were gone, Cormac would have no reason to live. Keeping Griffon alive was also keeping Cormac's last relative, his last bit of hope.
