Mommy,We Got a Husband -
Chapter 209 Alaric, What's Going on with You
Galatea had been so caught up in her days that she lost track of time. Realizing it was Friday, she quickly said, "I need to pick up Harry and Elisa from school today. Let's go together." Afterward, Alaric took Galatea to pick up Elisa and Caspian. Galatea had previously told the kids that she would pick them up on Fridays.
But what the two kids didn't expect was that Alaric came along with Galatea. Elisa was very excited to see Alaric, but Caspian was a bit flustered and anxious.
"Daddy, Mommy, you both came together!" Elisa was thrilled to see Galatea and Alaric. She ran toward them, and Alaric bent down to scoop her up into his arms.
Alaric had always been very fond of Elisa, treating her as his daughter.
However, there was a difference between psychologically treating her as his daughter and knowing for sure that she was his biological daughter. This was the first time Alaric saw Elisa after confirming she was his biological daughter. Alaric had always adored daughters. From the first time he saw Elisa, he couldn't help but like her. Now that he knew Elisa was his biological daughter, he couldn't control his emotions even more.
"Elisa, it's been so long since you saw me. Did you miss me?" Alaric asked gently.
"Of course, I missed you a lot. But Daddy and Mommy are dating, so it's normal that you don't want to be disturbed. Harry and I totally understand and support you," Elisa said.
The more Alaric looked at Elisa, the more he liked her. He couldn't help but kiss her on the cheek and then said, "I miss you too and love you very much. Can you call me Daddy again?"
"Daddy," Elisa called sweetly again. Alaric felt his heart melt. He kissed her on the cheek again and held her tightly in his arms.
At this moment, he hated himself. He wondered how he could have been so foolish. Harry and Caspian looked exactly alike. Why hadn't he realized sooner that Galatea was the woman who had given birth to his children? He was incredibly stupid!
Galatea couldn't stand the affection between Alaric and Elisa. When she looked at Caspian, he kept his head down as if he had done something wrong and didn't dare to speak.
Seeing this, Galatea quickly asked, "What's wrong? Harry, you're usually so lively. Why aren't you talking now?"
Hearing Galatea still call him Harry, Caspian felt extremely guilty. He glanced at Alaric and quickly looked away.
Alaric found Caspian's guilt amusing and didn't pay him any attention, continuing to hold Elisa.
"Nothing, Mommy," Caspian mumbled.
"Are you sure? Are you feeling unwell?" Galatea asked worriedly, noticing something was off with Caspian.
"He's not unwell. Look at his rosy cheeks; it's clear he's fine. He doesn't feel like talking right now. You don't need to worry," Alaric said.
Caspian felt a bit resentful. Alaric was indeed his biological father, doting on Elisa while being sarcastic toward him.
"What do you want to eat, Elisa?" Alaric asked.
The Knight family had never had a daughter for generations. Now that they finally had Elisa. Alaric was overjoyed. He even wished he could shrink Elisa and keep her in his pocket. Elisa replied, "I want to eat meat, lots of meat."
"Alright, then we'll have meat. You can eat whatever meat you want," Alaric said.
After saying that, Alaric carried Elisa to the car, and Galatea took Caspian's hand and led him to the car as well.
Once in the car, Alaric's doting on Elisa reached an almost excessive level, constantly asking about her well-being.
He asked Elisa how school was, the names of her friends, if anyone had bullied her, if she was comfortable at school, and even about the thickness of her blanket and whether she was too hot or too cold. "Daddy, you sure are talkative today," Elisa said, feeling a bit parched from answering so many questions. "I've answered so many questions that I'm thirsty."
"Sorry, that's my fault for making you talk so much. Drink some water," Alaric said as he quickly opened Elisa's water bottle and handed it to her. He watched her drink with great concern, as if afraid she might choke on a sip of water. Galatea and Caspian exchanged puzzled looks, not understanding Alaric's behavior.
At the restaurant, Alaric continued to serve Elisa, peeling shrimp, cutting meat, and pouring water for her.
"Alaric, what's going on with you?" Galatea couldn't stand it anymore. "Elisa is a big kid now. Even a three-year-old doesn't need this much care."
"But Elisa is still a child," Alaric replied.
Alaric explained, "Daughters should be pampered from a young age. If you pamper her, she'll know what it's like to be cherished. When she grows up and dates, she won't be easily swayed by a guy's kindness." Galatea was helpless. "Your excessive pampering like this will make her unable to find a boyfriend in the future. People look for girlfriends, not daughters."
"A girlfriend should also be treated well like a daughter," Alaric said, reacting strongly, "Besides, who says daughters have to get married? If she can't find a man who treats her well, she can stay with us forever." Galatea was speechless. Alaric seemed a bit off today.
"Harry, you should eat too," Galatea said, noticing Caspian feeling neglected. She quickly attended to his feelings.
Caspian ate silently, still puzzled as to why Alaric hadn't exposed him.
During the meal, Elisa said she wanted to go to the restroom, and Alaric immediately stood up. He was about to go with her, but Galatea quickly stopped him. "She's a big kid now. It's not appropriate for you to go with her to the restroom." Alaric said, "Then you go. We can't let Elisa go alone. What if someone kidnaps such a cute girl?"
Galatea had no choice but to take Elisa. After they left, only Alaric and Caspian were left at the table.
"Daddy, why didn't you tell Mommy that I'm Caspian, not Harry?" Caspian was really confused and very anxious.
