Mommy,We Got a Husband
Chapter 207 Prosecution

Alaric held Galatea as they slept, and they slept particularly well, not waking up until after nine the next morning.

Galatea lazily opened her eyes and looked at Alaric. No matter the angle, he was always so charming.

Waking up to see his face was truly a pleasure.

"Awake?" Alaric asked, then lowered his head to kiss her forehead. Galatea smiled sweetly and nodded.

"That was such a good sleep last night. I can't believe it's already this late," Galatea said.

Alaric smiled. "That's good."

With so many worries lately, it was indeed nice that they could still get a good night's sleep.

Galatea said in surprise, "You look pretty refreshed. That's not bad; it seems the treatment shot only had a big reaction on the first day. These past two days, it hasn't affected you much."

Alaric got up and said, "That's because you're a good doctor. You've been taking care of me these days; you must be tired. Wait here, I'll make breakfast for you."

"Okay." Since Alaric wanted to do it, Galatea didn't stop him.

Watching Alaric walk out of the lounge, Galatea felt very puzzled. She had told Alaric that her 'husband' was coming to see her, so why didn't Alaric have any reaction?

Did he completely not care about that man?

Galatea couldn't figure it out.

After Alaric made breakfast, Galatea and Alaric sat down at the dining table to eat together.

Alaric said, "Galatea, let's take Harry and Elisa and go back to my place this weekend?"

Alaric had already told Marigold last time. Next time, he would bring Galatea, Harry, and Elisa to his place, and they cleared things up face-to-face.

Galatea felt really troubled. "Go again? Alaric, did you even listen to what I said before? I told you, I have had a lot of trouble lately. I haven't dealt with Marigold and my previous husband. And you still want to take me to your place? Why? Your mom already doesn't like me, and knowing my current situation, she'll dislike me even more."

Seeing Galatea so anxious, Alaric just smiled. It was so satisfying to look at problems from God's perspective.

Galatea questioned, "Alaric, what are you laughing at? Can you be serious?"

"Okay, okay, I'll be serious." Alaric got serious and said, "Since your issues can't be resolved for now, let's put them aside and go back to my place first. Maybe once you're there, all your troubles will be solved?"

"What does going to your place have to do with resolving my troubles?" Galatea was really frustrated. "Are you still drunk from last night? What nonsense are you talking about?"

Hearing this, Alaric couldn't help but laugh. It was too funny.

This feeling was just too amusing.

"Alaric, if you laugh again, I'll really get mad!" Galatea felt like she was about to explode with anger.

"Alright, don't be mad, I won't laugh." But Alaric couldn't help but laugh.

He had a lot of worries lately, too, but luckily he had Galatea. Seeing her so anxious and angry, he found her both adorable and hilarious.

Galatea asked, "Let's not talk about this. Do you have any work plans today? If not, can you accompany me for a walk? I've been feeling stifled these past two days."

Alaric refused, "I don't have any work plans today, but I don't have time to accompany you for a walk."

Galatea asked, "If you don't have any work plans, how come you don't have time?"

He replied, "I have a meeting with a lawyer."

Galatea was scared. "A lawyer? What's going on? Are you going to court? Are you being sued?"

Alaric was helplessly, "Can you think of something positive?"

"Isn't seeing a lawyer about going to court? Are you seeing a lawyer for a medical check-up?"

Alaric smiled again and gently pinched Galatea's cheek. He didn't want to tell Galatea about Griffon, but since he decided to sue Griffon, it was hard to keep it from her.

Alaric said directly, "Yes, it's about going to court, but it's not that simple. Your car accident wasn't an accident. Griffon orchestrated it."

"What did you say!" Galatea was shocked. She suddenly felt a chill. Her car accident wasn't an accident; Griffon wanted to kill her!

"How could that be? I have no enmity with the Nash family. Why would Griffon want to kill me?" Galatea couldn't believe it. She couldn't think of any motive Griffon would have to kill her. She asked again, "Is it because Orion likes you and I'm your fiancée? No way, that motive is too far-fetched. How could it be?"

Alaric sighed, "Good people find such motives absurd, but evil people see human lives as worthless."

Galatea asked, "Have you confirmed it? Is it true?"

Alaric said, "I met with the perpetrator, Jason Gray. He confessed. It's true."

Alaric sighed deeply. He was also heartbroken. Their families used to be so close. Even if they fell out, they could have gone their separate ways.

Alaric explained, "I could just report it and let the police handle it, but I find it too disgusting. I'd rather leave it to the lawyer."

It wasn't just the car accident; Griffon also tampered with DNA results six years ago. Since both civil and criminal cases were involved, he would leave it all to the lawyer. Galatea still hadn't processed it. She couldn't believe Griffon was so ruthless.

Griffon wanted to kill her. It was terrifying.

Alaric said seriously to Galatea, "I'm sorry. He hurt you because of me."

Galatea suddenly couldn't say anything. The saying "the human heart is unpredictable" was indeed true.

After a long time, Galatea sighed and said, "I didn't do anything to wrong them. Why does he want me dead?"

It was too scary. These people were too frightening.

"I'm sorry." Alaric quickly hugged Galatea to comfort her. "It's my fault. Don't be afraid. It's all over. He will pay the price, and I won't let anyone hurt you again. Don't be afraid." Galatea was indeed frightened by this. The pain from the car accident had already passed, and now it was being brought up again. It was very cruel to her.

So Alaric wouldn't show any mercy to Griffon.

After fully entrusting the lawyer, he also applied to the court to reopen Galatea's traffic accident case. For the suspect Griffon, the police would conduct an immediate interrogation. When the police arrived at the Nash family home, they said seriously, "Mr. Cormac, we suspect you are involved in a previous traffic accident. Please cooperate with the investigation." Orion was really scared when she saw the police. She hurried over and worriedly called out, "Dad?"

Griffon said calmly, "It's okay. I just need to cooperate with the investigation. I'll be back soon."

Since Alaric already knew, this day was bound to come. Griffon had thought it through. As long as Alaric had no concrete evidence, he couldn't do anything to him!
