Mommy,We Got a Husband
Chapter 197 Where Did You Hide the Child

Alaric had no idea why Marigold was so agitated. Just as he was about to say something, Joe hurriedly spoke up, "Mr. Knight, Mrs. Knight just had a real heart attack and took some medication. She's only feeling a bit better now. Please, don't upset her again."

Marigold's face looked really bad, and she seemed super upset.

Alaric went over to support Marigold, but she angrily pushed his hand away and asked, "Did you hear what I just said? As long as I'm alive, don't even think about letting that bitch into this house. If you want to marry her, you'll have to wait until I'm dead!"

This was what Alaric dreaded the most. Marigold was really threatening to die to prevent him from marrying Galatea.

"Mom, even if I don't marry her now, what difference does it make? Didn't we already get married seven years ago?" Alaric said directly.

"What did you say?" Marigold was startled by Alaric's words. What did he mean? How did he know?

"Mom, you know exactly what I'm talking about. You deny that it doesn't make any sense. Galatea, no, to be precise, Stellan, was the woman who married me and bore my children. You should know why the medical records show she died in childbirth six years ago. Now the DNA results are in front of you."

Alaric sighed, "The current DNA results confirm that the DNA results from six years ago were tampered with, although it wasn't you who tampered with them. However, you were deceived, and this and indirectly led to Galatea's 'death.' Mom, I can't figure out why you hold so much resentment and dissatisfaction. However you view Galatea, she was the daughter-in-law you actively pursued. She doesn't owe anything to you or the Knight family."

Alaric continued, "Instead, it was your wrongful accusation of Stellan that led to her tragedy. She survived a great ordeal, and so did the two children. Finally, our family of five can reunite after six years. This is such a blissful outcome. Why won't you accept it? Why do you have to ruin it and make everyone unhappy?"

"Make everyone unhappy?" Marigold felt nothing but heartbreak upon hearing this.

Alaric said, "Am I wrong? Caspian likes Galatea so much; it's a natural mother-son bond. And Harry and Elisa are so smart and adorable. Galatea and I are by your side, and you have three grandchildren, Caspian, Harry, and Elisa. This is something many people envy, yet you want to destroy it. Isn't that making everyone unhappy?"

Marigold sneered, "Envy? That's just your perspective. I made a mistake back then, and it led to Galatea's indirect death, so she resents me. She treats me like an enemy now; we are destined to be incompatible! Now you want to marry her, and Caspian, Harry, and Elisa like her so much. You shield her, but where does that leave me in the Knight family? I've toiled for years, and in my twilight, all I seek is peace. Yet you've reintroduced a malicious woman to torment me, to sow my discontent. Is this the blissful outcome you envision?"

Marigold burst out, "For your family of five, this may be a blissful ending, but not for me. It seems like you've turned a blind eye to anyone but yourself and your kin. Galatea has clouded your judgment, leaving my needs in the dust. After weathering years of struggles, I find myself nurturing a child who lacks gratitude!"

Alaric was truly helpless and said, "Mom, this is all in your head. You think Galatea will definitely resent you and seek revenge. It's all your imagination."

"My imagination?" Marigold was now furious. "That bitch just called me and made it crystal clear that she resents me. I was so angry I had a heart attack. Do you call that my imagination?"

Galatea had just called Marigold?

"The child I brought up now belongs to someone else. I don't have a place in this family anymore." Marigold began to cry, her tears filled with sorrow. "You know your father and I had a marriage of convenience. There was no love between us. "When I was pregnant, he was out enjoying himself every day. I endured morning sickness and prenatal checkups all by myself. Do you think Stellan was the only one who had a tough time during childbirth? I nearly lost my life giving birth to you." Marigold sobbed, "You jerk, joined the military young and then became a special forces soldier, always on dangerous missions. I was constantly worried, praying for your safety. And what happened? I asked you to come back and take over the business, but you wouldn't. You were only brought back after being severely injured and in a coma. Three years, Alaric, you were in a coma for three years, lying in bed for three years. Who took care of you? Who cried their eyes out every day?" Marigold continued, "Finally, you woke up. The business flourishes. I thought I could finally savor life, believing my struggles were past. Had I known it would come to this, I wouldn't have brought you into this world. I should have never had you."

Marigold cried even harder, and Joe kept trying to console her. "Mrs. Knight, your heart condition is delicate. Please refrain from getting upset. Take a moment to compose yourself. Mr. Knight, could you please try to console Mrs. Knight? Do you truly wish to exacerbate her health?"

Alaric felt completely powerless. He understood the immense emotional pain his three-year coma had inflicted on Marigold.

However, he stood firm on the issue of Galatea.

Alaric comforted, "Mom, I don't intend to distress you. I swear on my life that once Galatea marries me, she will never harbor any intentions of vengeance against you. I will not permit it. If you lack faith in her, can't you at least have faith in me?"

Marigold was visibly distressed, clutching her chest. Joe swiftly interjected, "Mr. Knight, let's steer clear of any mention of Galatea for the time being."

Alaric, taking a deep breath, relented, "Alright, I'll avoid discussing Galatea for now. How about Caspian?"

Marigold remained unaware of the Caspian and Harry switch, and Alaric was unwilling to delve into it.

"Mr. Knight, he..." Joe didn't know what to say.

Seeing Joe's hesitation, Alaric seemed to understand something. He quickly ran upstairs and searched everywhere but couldn't find Harry.

Alaric inquired of Marigold, "Where's the child? Have you concealed him? Did you hide him to keep him out of Galatea's sight?"
