Chapter 191 Are you Harry or Caspian ?
Alaric hadn't finished speaking when Caspian hung up the phone, indicating he was on his way over. Alaric was helpless.
He didn't want Harry to see him in his current state. He tried hard to regain his strength, but it was beyond his control due to the effects of the medication.
In about ten minutes, Caspian arrived. Just now in the taxi, Caspian kept urging the driver to go faster.
Once he got out of the car, he rushed into Nexus Innovations and took the elevator all the way to the top floor.
"Daddy!"Caspian shouted as he ran in from outside, seeing Alaric lying on the bed at that moment, looking particularly pale and weak. Caspian's heart ached like needles pricking him.
He had known since he was young that Alaric's health was not good, and he knew that when he fell ill, it was serious.
But after so many years, he had never seen Alaric looking so haggard. "Daddy, what's wrong with you? Are you really having an episode?" Caspian asked with a trembling voice, genuinely worried.
"No." Seeing him so scared, Alaric smiled reassuringly, then patted Caspian's head and said. "I'm undergoing treatment right now. These are normal medication reactions. I'll be fine in a couple of days. You don't need to worry." Caspian asked "Is Mommy treating you?"
Alaric nodded. "Yes."
No wonder Mommy had been too busy to come home recently; she was treating his daddy.
"Where's Mommy?" Caspian asked anxiously, seeing Alaric alone in the lounge.
Alaric handed Caspian the note left by Galatea, which had only one line written on it.
[I'm settling the renovation on the storefront. I'll be back soon.]
That was the excuse Galatea had used to go out and meet Marigold. Of course, Alaric didn't suspect anything.
"So, Mommy went out for work." Caspian looked at Alaric, feeling his heart ache tightly, whether it was an episode or a medication reaction. He was worried. "Daddy, have you eaten?"
"I have." Alaric had to lie to prevent the child from worrying.
Caspian asked, "Daddy, does the reaction to the medication hurt a lot? Where does it hurt? Is it severe?"
"Not severe, just feeling weak all over. Alright, hurry home and do your homework," Alaric said.
"I won't leave you alone here until Mommy comes back." Caspian insisted.
Alaric was truly touched by his actions. Harry was indeed a caring young man.
Caspian said, "Daddy, you can tell me if you need anything.
Alaric smiled. "I don't need anything."
Alaric had just finished speaking when he felt nauseous. Seeing him about to vomit, Caspian quickly fetched a trash can and a towel from the bathroom, preparing as fast as he could. Caspian asked, "Daddy, are you going to vomit?"
Caspian was really scared seeing Alaric like this, helping him pat his back while anxiously asking, "Do you want to vomit? You never vomited during your previous episodes. Did Mommy say vomiting is normal?" Alaric couldn't say anything now, as Caspian anxiously rambled on by himself. After feeling uncomfortable for a while, he didn't end up vomiting.
"How are you feeling now, Daddy?" Caspian was truly worried this time, almost in tears.
Caspian anxiously asked "Are you feeling better now? Should I call an ambulance for you?"
Alaric had just felt a wave of nausea, but it passed without him vomiting. Seeing Caspian crying in fear, Alaric couldn't help but smile.
Alaric teased, "Why are you crying?"
"Because I was worried you might be in trouble." Caspian quickly wiped away his tears. "You scared me just now."
Seeing him like this, Alaric smiled again, then his gaze fell on the towel in Caspian's hand, and he suddenly remembered something, looking puzzled.
"What's wrong, Daddy?" Caspian was now in a highly tense state, afraid of any further reactions from Alaric.
Alaric said, "Nothing, I suddenly feel a bit sore. Go get me some painkillers."
"Okay." Caspian quickly agreed, then ran to the desk and opened the third drawer, taking out the painkillers and a glass of water. He handed them to Alaric, but Alaric didn't take them. "What's wrong, Daddy? You need to take your medicine." Caspian asked when Alaric didn't take them.
Alaric asked, "I remember you and Elisa have never been to my lounge, so how do you know where my painkillers are and that I would have an episode?"
Galatea would never have told Harry and Elisa about his episodes. And just now, when Harry went to get the towel, he quickly brought it from the bathroom. This was the presidential suite lounge; Harry wouldn't even know where the bathroom was.
Upon hearing this question, Caspian almost dropped the glass of water in his hand, then hurriedly placed it on the nearby table, unsure of how to answer. Alaric said, "Speak."
Caspian didn't know to say anything.
"Well, are you Harry or Caspian?" Alaric asked directly.
Caspian wanted to slap himself; seeing Alaric in such discomfort, he had completely forgotten he was pretending to be Harry.
Caspian felt embarrassed and tried to cover it up with a smile, scratching his head. "I'm Caspian. I was planning to play a prank on you by pretending to be Harry, but you saw through it. Dad, you're so clever!" Caspian had no idea what he was saying; perhaps he was too young, and he really wasn't good at lying. Suddenly facing this unexpected situation, he didn't know how to respond. "Are you Caspian?" Alaric asked again.
Caspian explained, "Yes, Harry's phone accidentally ended up in my hands, so I wanted to play a prank."
Alaric asked, "And is your fracture healed?"
"I have a fracture?" Caspian felt completely dumbfounded. When did Harry fracture his bones? No one had told him!
Caspian just lied, "Yes, it happened today."
"Was the cast removed today at the hospital?" Alaric asked intentionally.
"Yes." Caspian had no idea what he was talking about.
After hearing this, Alaric laughed, his eyes completely piercing through Caspian's lies, making Caspian feel guilty.
He hurriedly said, "Daddy, I suddenly remembered that the teacher assigned a lot of homework today. I have to go back to the Knight family mansion to do my homework."
After saying this, Caspian turned to leave, but as he reached the door, Alaric spoke again, "Because Caspian has a fracture, he hasn't been going to school recently, so he doesn't have any homework.
"Upon hearing this, Caspian suddenly felt like a clown. He felt extremely embarrassed and bit his lip. He had intended to tell his dad about how his wicked grandmother was harassing him.
But now, he exposed.. Harry, when did you fracture your bones and not go to school? Caspian was furious!
