Chapter 187 Are you imprisoning me?
Chapter 187 Are you imprisoning me?
"What are you writing so intently?" Alaric leaned in toward Galatea, looking at the words she was writing, then asked.
Due to Galatea's intense focus just now, Alaric startled her.
Then she angrily punched Alaric and accused him, "How did you come in so quietly? You scared me."
"It's because you were too focused." Alaric smiled helplessly and asked, "What is this?"
"I'm researching your life-saving medicine." Galatea said to Alaric with anticipation, "Josep just called me, saying the American Medical Research Institute is developing a capsule that would be very helpful for your illness."
"Is that so?"
"Yes, if the development is successful, you just need to take the medicine to get better, and you won't have to suffer so much."
"So, does that mean I won't need any more treatments?"
"No way." Galatea retorted, "Medical research doesn't progress that quickly, and in case of a failed development, it's better to be prepared. I'll give you the second shot tomorrow."
Alaric sighed helplessly, then picked up Galatea and walked toward the bedroom, saying, "Since I'll be useless again tomorrow, I must cherish tonight."
Galatea was truly exasperated by this.
"Can you think of something else at night, don't always think about making love!"
"I don't want to either, but you're right beside me, and seeing you at night, I can't help but want to." Alaric felt that Galatea was like cannabis, truly addictive, and he couldn't control himself.
Ever since she came to stay here to treat him, they have made love almost every night. While Galatea was helpless and speechless, she also couldn't resist.
Galatea said, "Tomorrow, I'll increase your dosage and have you lie in bed for three days."
After it was all over, Galatea felt her body go limp, her waist almost breaking. This treatment had Alaric lying in bed for two days, which seemed too short!
To this, Alaric wryly smiled and said, "Honey, you're a doctor. You should have compassion, not seek revenge like this."
"I can have compassion for anyone, but for you, I must increase the dosage!"
Alaric pretended to be innocent and aggrieved, shaking his head and sighing, "Well, since I'm the patient and you're the doctor, as long as you're happy, I'll take whatever dosage you want to give."
"That's about right." After Galatea finished speaking, she reached out and hooked her arms around Alaric's neck, saying, "I'm exhausted now, and while you still have strength, take me to shower."
She was sweaty from making love, feeling sticky all over, extremely uncomfortable, but too lethargic to do anything, so she let Alaric take charge.
Alaric was more than willing.
Marigold, who had met Ambrose, returned home and couldn't stop thinking about Ambrose's words.
She was truly in turmoil now, with no viable plan to deceive anyone. Ambrose's suggestion seemed worth a try, even though the chance of success was slim, it was better than none.
Harry said, "Grandma Marigold, are you up to something mischievous again?"
As soon as she returned, Marigold sat alone on the sofa and lost herself in thought, resembling someone brewing up a conspiracy.
"Caspian, do you really think I am that bad?"
"Not the worst, but if we're talking about good people, you're not exactly on that list," Harry spoke frankly.
If Marigold had heard this earlier, she would have been furious, but Harry was her grandson, and she found his words somewhat endearing.
"Caspian, you've been cooped up at home all these days, feeling bored, right? Shall I take you out for some fun?" Marigold said softly.
Harry replied, "I do want to go out, but my butt isn't fully healed yet. Walking still hurts, and I can't bear it."
"Then I will take you to a fun place where you won't get tired."
"Is there really such a place?"
"Of course, I will take you, okay?"
"Great, I've been cooped up at home for so long. That's too boring."
Marigold chuckled happily at this, then directly lifted Harry into the car. It was a camper van, allowing him to lie comfortably in bed.
"Caspian, the destination is a bit far. You can take a nap in the car." Marigold said.
It was a bit far; where was Marigold taking him?
"Aren't you planning to sell me?" Harry asked.
"Nonsense, you're my sweetheart. I dotes on you, how could I ever sell you? Besides, we have plenty of money, and I don't need to sell you for money."
"The first part might be false, but the second part is definitely true." Harry closed his eyes. "Alright, I'll take a nap; wake me up when we arrive."
Soon, Harry fell asleep comfortably in the bed. When he woke up, the car was still moving.
Checking the time, three hours had passed, and looking out the window, they were in the mountains!
"You are a wicked woman. You're not planning to sell me, but you're planning to abandon me in these mountains?" Harry was furious, realizing Marigold had ulterior motives.
"How could I abandon anyone, especially not you. I am taking you to Tranquil Valley Mansion. We're almost there."
"Tranquil Valley Mansion!"
"Yes."
Marigold had bought Tranquil Valley Mansion a few years ago, which even Alaric didn't know about. She had intended to stay there for a few days of peace and quiet after her global travels, but she had been too busy since returning.
"We're here, Caspian, do you like it?"
Marigold carried Harry out of the car, and upon seeing Tranquil Valley Mansion, Harry was momentarily stunned. The grand mansion amidst the beautiful scenery was impressive!
"Doctors, servants, chefs, teachers, and nutritionists, I have arranged everything for you. And I plan to build a large amusement park near Tranquil Valley Mansion. Whatever you like to play, just tell me to make it happen."
Harry asked, "Wait a minute; what's all this preparation for me? Are you planning to make me stay here permanently?"
"This place is great, with good surroundings and tranquility, perfect for your recovery."
"I just have a fractured bone, not a terminal illness. Do I really need to recover in these mountains?" Harry refused.
"A fractured bone isn't a minor ailment; it needs a long time to heal," Marigold said seriously,
"You're still young. If it doesn't heal properly, leaving sequelae would be disastrous. The Knight family mansion and the Knight family manor are both in the bustling city center, not suitable for recuperation. This place is the most suitable."
"Is there any communication equipment here?"
"Not at the moment."
"So, this isn't a recovery; you're imprisoning me here!" Harry was furious. "I disagree, I want to leave!"
