Mommy,We Got a Husband -
Chapter 176 I Met Stellan Storm!
"Mrs. Marigold specifically instructed that she didn't want Mr. Alaric to know about this and wanted to meet with you alone." Met with her alone.
"Now?"
"Yes, Mrs. Marigold is on her way. She said she's waiting for you at table number one in the coffee shop downstairs at Nexus Innovations." Galatea glanced around the lounge, not wanting Alaric to know, so she needed a reason to keep Alaric from getting suspicious. "Young Madam, Mrs. Marigold is known to be domineering and strict. She gave the order, and I dare not disobey."
"I got it."
Marigold deliberately didn't want Alaric to know, perhaps she didn't want them to go together, and she was being protected all the time.
Although Galatea was feeling uneasy now, she had already decided to marry Alaric in the future. Marigold was her future family, no matter how strict she was, Galatea would have to meet her.
Hiding behind Alaric was not a solution, and she would have to face Marigold alone eventually.
"Alright, I'll inform Alaric. Silas, you go ahead to deal with your things."
"Of course, Young Madam."
Galatea had to return to the lounge. Alaric asked, "Who has such bad timing to disturb during the break?"
"It's Silas." Galatea explained quickly, "but it's not his fault. Mia Reed said she needed to talk to me about something, and she's waiting downstairs now. Alaric, you go ahead and rest. I'll be back soon." "Alright." Alaric didn't suspect Galatea's words.
"Even though I'm leaving, you must follow what I say, obediently close your eyes, and sleep." Galatea instructed.
"I got it." Alaric held Galatea's hand again, pulled her closer, and kissed her on the lips. "Come back soon."
Alaric was being overly affectionate now, making Galatea feel exasperated.
"Okay, go to sleep." After saying this, Galatea gently pushed Alaric's hand away, then left and closed the door behind her.
After leaving the lounge, Galatea took a deep breath, feeling nervous, then quickly tidied her hair and clothes.
As a junior, she should have visited first, but unexpectedly, she was being passive. It was already impolite, so for their first meeting, she had to leave a good impression on Marigold. Marigold was now sitting at table number one in the coffee shop downstairs, furious and cursing Galatea in her mind.
Marigold checked the time again, she had been waiting here for ten minutes, and Galatea still hadn't shown up!
If Galatea had told Alaric and they came together, Marigold would have vehemently opposed it!
After two more minutes passed without Galatea's arrival, Marigold went to the restroom. Just as she went in, Galatea arrived.
Seeing that there was no one at table number one, she asked a waiter.
"The lady at this table has arrived, she just went to the restroom."The waiter replied.
"Alright, thank you."
Galatea tightly held the water cup in her hands, sweating profusely in her palms, feeling extremely nervous.
"Don't be nervous, don't be nervous!" Galatea kept encouraging herself in her mind. "Relax, relax."
After coming out of the restroom, Marigold saw Galatea sitting at table number one from a distance. At that moment, Galatea was looking down, appearing somewhat reserved.
Just one glance and Marigold already felt a deep sense of disgust for no reason without even seeing Galatea clearly.
Marigold approached, and as she got a clear view of Galatea's face, she was instantly shocked, her pupils dilating. Galatea, it was Galatea!
This was clearly Stellan!
Just as Galatea was about to look up at her, Marigold quickly hid behind a plant called Bird of Paradise.
Then she slowly peeked out to look at Galatea. By now, she had completely recognized her. It was Stellan, indeed Stellan!
So now, after changing her name, Stellan was called Galatea.
And now Stellan was by Alaric's side, having already captured Alaric's heart. What a coincidence!
It must be Stellan's back for revenge, starting by seducing her son Alaric first and then planning to take Caspian back. Thinking this, Marigold couldn't help but shiver.
It was truly terrifying to think about!
Looking at Galatea's face up close, all Marigold could see in her mind was Stellan's face from her nightmares, filled with blood and hatred.
With that thought, Marigold's body went weak, and when Galatea wasn't looking, she hurriedly ran out of the coffee shop.
Galatea was already nervous, and as she waited for Marigold to return, her anxiety increased. Checking the time, she found that it had been over ten minutes since she had entered.
"Could you please check on the lady, Mrs. Marigold, in the restroom for me? She's been in there for quite a while, and I'm getting worried."
"Of course, please wait."
The waiter went to the restroom and returned to tell Galatea. "Madam, we checked the restroom, but there's no one there. Has the person you were meeting already left? Maybe you should give her a call?" She had left. Marigold had left without meeting her. How could she have Marigold's number?
Just as Galatea was about to say something, her phone rang. It was Alaric calling.
"Hello."
"Why did you take so long?"
"I told you to sleep, but you never listen to the doctor." Galatea scolded.
"It's not that I don't listen. I just can't sleep without you here." Alaric said, "You've been gone for almost twenty minutes. It's really a long time."
Galatea was now feeling extremely helpless. Alaric was just like a three-year-old clingy boy.
"I got it, and I'll be back soon." Since Marigold had already left, there was no point in staying there. Galatea settled the bill and left.
As she walked out of the coffee shop, Galatea felt utterly bewildered. If Marigold had already arrived, why did she leave without meeting her?
Marigold had seen her from a distance after coming out of the restroom, didn't like her daughter-in-law, and simply couldn't be bothered to talk to her before leaving.
Galatea absentmindedly touched her face. As her appearance was impeccable, there was no reason for someone to be dissatisfied with just one glance.
It was truly incomprehensible!
After Marigold left the coffee shop, she could be said to have left in a somewhat chaotic state, thoroughly frightened.
Upon returning to the Knight family mansion, her expression was particularly grim. Joe, seeing this, hurriedly asked, "Mrs. Marigold, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
"I met Stellan Storm, I met Stellan Storm!" Marigold clutched Joe's clothes tightly, speaking with extreme nervousness.
