Mommy,We Got a Husband
Chapter 160 Flirtatious Banter

Galatea and Alaric had kissed many times before, but this was the first time Galatea took the initiative, completely surprising Alaric.

She kissed him for a long time before letting go, leaving Alaric completely taken aback.

"What's about you today, being so affectionate?" Alaric was truly astonished.

"Alaric, can I trust you?" Ambrose had made Galatea to be cautious, especially if Storm's Family's bankruptcy was related to Ambrose. She wondered.

The man she loved and had been with for so many years. Should she blame Ambrose for hiding things so well, or should she blame herself for being too lovestruck?

In the relationship, Galatea was losing her sense of security. She looked at Alaric earnestly and asked, "Will you be loyal to this relationship with no ulterior motives, just being with me?"

Galatea knew it was silly to ask such a question. In current relationships, no matter who would confidently answer yes, she still asked Alaric.

"I swear by my faith, as long as I am alive, you will be my only Mrs. Knight."

At this point, Galatea would believe everything Alaric said. Just hearing him say those words made her feel a sense of reassurance.

"This is what you said. As a soldier, you must follow your words."

"Don't worry, I will keep my word." After saying this, Alaric was about to start the car, but Galatea stopped him.

"You smell strongly of alcohol. Have you been drinking?" Galatea frowned after sniffing and scolded him angrily, "I've told you I'm going to start your treatment, and here you are, drinking and driving. Get out, I'll drive!" Seeing Galatea so angry, Alaric laughed. But his laughter only seemed to infuriate her more, and she punched him hard.

"Why are you laughing at such a serious matter?"

Alaric didn't listen to her demand to get out of the car. Instead, he started the car and explained. "Let me clarify, I haven't touched a drop of alcohol today. It was Cormac who got drunk. I just dropped him off at home before coming to pick you up."

"Big Brother Cormac got drunk?"

"Yes." Alaric nodded and continued. "Cormac is feeling down."

"Because of Ravenna's illness?"

"No, he was reminded of his ex-girlfriend Rowena and couldn't control his emotions."

"His ex-girlfriend Rowena?" Galatea's curiosity was piqued. "What is Big Brother Cormac's ex-girlfriend Rowena look like?"

Seeing her so interested, Alaric smiled. "You're so curious about Cormac's romantic history?"

"People are naturally curious, especially about those around them. Tell me right away."

Alaric briefly mentioned their breakup due to Griffon's opposition and added, "I still can't figure out why Cormac ended up becoming a psychologist. It turns out it was because his ex-girlfriend Rowena had suffered from depression." "So Big Brother Cormac became a psychologist because of his ex-girlfriend?"

"There's no other explanation." Although Alaric hadn't asked Cormac this question directly, he had a good idea.

"From Cormac's outward appearance, I couldn't find that. He always seemed like a carefree playboy. Is he actually so devoted?"

This new insight made Galatea look at Cormac from a different perspective.

"Yes." Alaric agreed, then shifted the topic. "Let's talk about us. You'll be working hard to treat me during this time, so you, my future wife and personal doctor, will have to stay with me at the company."

Galatea sighed in resignation. "I've never seen someone as work-driven as you. Treating at the office is so weird."

"It's the only option," Alaric lamented. "There are many enemies in the business world. Last time, I pretended to go on a business trip for over a week, but it was exposed. If I leave the company directly, my condition will be revealed. So, I have to inconvenience you, Galatea."

"Is it because you care about your reputation and don't want people to know about your condition, or is it simply fear of your business rivals?"

"Both." Alaric admitted.

After hearing this, Galatea sighed again. "Well, I know you are face-saving. Don't worry. With me here, I'll make sure to cure you before others find out about your condition."

"I trust in your medical skills." Alaric said.

Galatea glanced at Alaric. He seemed so different now, from his previous aloof and arrogant demeanor to his current smooth-talking.

"Poor Harry and Elisa. I won't see them for a while." Alaric lamented.

"It won't be long. I'll take Harry and Elisa out for fun this weekend to make up for it."

"Let's talk it up after you get out of bed." Galatea reminded him, "Even though you've been shot and severely injured, don't underestimate the effects of the medication. Nausea, fever, and loss of appetite are all common side effects. This isn't just a retreat, don't take it lightly."

"I got it." Alaric nodded. "If I can't get out of bed, I'll have to rely on you to take care of me."

Seeing his attitude, Galatea suddenly fell silent. She was worried that this treatment might have serious side effects on Alaric's body, but he seemed so carefree.

Alaric led Galatea to the company's lounge. Despite staying at the office, his lounge was spacious, more like a presidential suite.

The top floor was Alaric's private space, with his office, lounge, private dining room, and even a gym.

Staying here with Galatea was quite convenient.

In the lounge, Galatea's first instinct was to take a shower. After the physical contact with Ambrose earlier, she felt uncomfortable. After her shower, Galatea found Alaric standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, lost in thought.

When she emerged, Alaric turned to her and asked, "Are you Okay?"

"Yes." Galatea nodded.

Alaric approached her, took a sniff, and caught a whiff of the faint scent of her body lotion.

"You mentioned earlier in the car that I might not be able to get out of bed during treatment?" "Yes, it's not an exaggeration."

"Does that mean we can't do anything else?" Alaric asked with a mischievous smile.

"What do you mean?" Galatea looked puzzled.

Seeing her confusion, Alaric felt defeated and simply picked her up and carried her to the bed. "Do you understand now?"

Galatea was speechless. Alaric's intentions were clear.

"So, tonight we can..."Alaric kissed her when he said halfway.
