Mommy,We Got a Husband
Chapter 104 Ambrose's Origins

"Miss Chu, are you listening?" the bank representative politely asked again.

"Yes, I am listening." Galatea asked directly, "Your bank is so eager to loan me money. Is it because of Alaric?"

"Miss Chu, what do you mean? We don't understand. We approved your loan because your qualifications completely meet our requirements, and it has nothing to do with anyone else." Is that so?

Did she think too much?

Well, the previous phone call was only a few minutes ago, so it shouldn't be that fast. Was it really just a lucky day?

"It's nothing." Galatea smiled to cover up and said, "I will come to the bank tomorrow morning."

"Okay, we will wait for you at the bank."

After hanging up the phone, Galatea was still in a daze. Did she really get lucky? Oh well, it's a headache to think too much.

After arranging the loan, Galatea immediately anonymously posted Mrs. Marigold's painting online and put up a notice for missing persons, hoping to receive news soon.

Because she had agreed to go to the bank early the next day, Galatea sent the two children to school as usual and then went to the bank.

She thought she would be lucky to get a loan of one million dollars, but she didn't expect...

"I can loan as much as I want? More than one million is also possible?"

"Of course, it depends on your needs."

Galatea looked at the loan officer again, doubting once more, and asked, "Are you sure my loan has nothing to do with Alaric?"

"Miss Chu, I swear to you that this loan has nothing to do with Mr. Alaric. If I'm lying, I'll be punished."

"It wouldn't go that far." Galatea awkwardly smiled, realizing that she was being overly sensitive, and apologized, "I'm sorry, I'm being too sensitive. So, let me borrow 1.5 million dollars for now. If I need more in the future, can I come to you?" "Of course, there's no problem. You can borrow however much you want." The loan officer said enthusiastically, "I will prepare the contract right away."

The following process involved filling out various information and signing the contract, which was tedious. It took the whole morning to complete, but the loan was disbursed quickly after the agreement was signed.

Receiving the money, Galatea was in a good mood and took out her phone to look at the text message confirming the deposit. Just as she was about to lock her screen, she inadvertently saw the words "Wednesday" on it. Wednesday?

She had to go for treatment with Alaric every Wednesday. So today...

"Galatea, ask yourself, how many of the things you told me were true? It was all lies from beginning to end. Are you happy to deceive me like a fool?" Suddenly, Alaric's words echoed in her mind, creating ripples in her calm heart. Forget it. At this moment, Alaric wouldn't want to see her. Why bother him?

With the money in hand, the next step was to go and see if there were suitable shops to rent for a clinic.

With a goal to strive for, Galatea was full of enthusiasm and had no intention of thinking about anything else, while Alaric was the exact opposite.

Having suffered from insomnia for two days, it wasn't an exaggeration to say that since his argument with Galatea, he hadn't slept a minute. His temper grew increasingly irritable, causing the employees to tremble every day. "Mr. Alaric," Silas knocked on the door and cautiously reported, taking note of Alaric's expression, "Mr. Mason from the equipment company has been requesting to meet with you for several days now. He just called again to ask if he could have lunch with you."

Silas wouldn't have dared to risk his life to report the work if it wasn't for the other party's repeated requests.

"Decline," Alaric added, "I won't be seeing anyone these days!"

"Understood," Silas nodded.

Alaric couldn't help but glance in the direction where Galatea lived, then instructed Silas, "Look into Galatea's past for me."

He wanted to know about Galatea's previous relationship with Ambrose and, more importantly, whether Harry and Elisa had any connection to Ambrose.

"Yes, Mr. Alaric." Silas turned around to leave after receiving the order but was stopped by Alaric, "Wait!"

"Is there anything else, Mr. Alaric?" Silas hurriedly returned and asked.

"Forget it." Just now, Alaric remembered Galatea's question to him, "Is this design funny?"

"No need to investigate," the previous design was indeed his fault. If he were to investigate behind Galatea's back secretly and she found out, she would only get angrier. So he decided to drop it. "Alright."

"How's Ambrose doing these past few days?" Alaric asked.

"Apart from work at the office, he spends almost all his time at the construction site. And he doesn't put on any airs, taking the lead in doing all sorts of dirty and tiring work. From management to ordinary workers, everyone speaks highly of him," Silas truthfully replied. Everyone speaks highly of him?

"This Ambrose really knows how to endure hardships." Alaric continued asking, "Has his background been investigated?"

"I conducted a detailed investigation before the bidding. Ambrose is Old Todd's illegitimate child. No one knew before. It was probably seven years ago when Old Todd let Ambrose enter the Vale Family."

"Illegitimate child?" Alaric was not familiar with the term, "Go on."

"Mr. Todd Vale, you should know that the current director of Far East International, Mr. Alaric, is Old Todd's favorite son. He is bold and ruthless and treats Ambrose, his illegitimate half-brother, poorly.

It is said that since Ambrose joined Vale's Group, Todd Vale has been causing him trouble. Old Todd is also not kind to Ambrose, perhaps because he is afraid that Ambrose has ideas about Vale's Group. So, he directly changed the group's name to his eldest son's name, making his intentions quite clear.

Indeed, it is not easy to climb to this position under the circumstances of a disapproving father and a resentful elder brother.

No wonder he had to win the casino project.

Illegitimate child? Has he only joined Vale Family seven years ago?

"You just said he only joined Vale Family seven years ago?"

"Yes."

Seven years ago?

Now Harry and Elisa are six years old. Seven years ago, it would be around the time Galatea became pregnant with him.

According to Galatea, he disappeared out of thin air, and the time he disappeared coincides exactly with his return to the Vale Family. Then...

Ambrose also said that they had no choice but to separate.

In other words, he had to choose between Galatea and returning to the family, and he chose the latter.

The timing of his departure matches Galatea's pregnancy. Could Harry and Elisa be his child?

Alaric shuddered. If that were the case, wouldn't it be possible for them to reconcile?

"Silas, I don't care what methods you use. I need to know if there is a blood relationship between Ambrose, Harry, and Elisa."

"Understood." Silas was truly a headache when he received this task.

How can the blood relationship be proved? That would require a DNA test. It is easy with the child, but how can he obtain something from Ambrose that can be used for the test?
