Mommy for Billionaire's Baby -
Chapter 44 b
Tasya adjusts the position of the blankets that these two have on. Despite their constant bickering and arguing since earlier, with no one willing to give in, and unable to be advised to be patient, not tease each other, or act strangely, it seems that all of Tasya's warnings have been in vain. They never paid much attention to her for long.
However, the two of them are still two people who can't be far from each other.
Under Tasya's watchful gaze, on the comfortable bed where Nathan lies, already arranged in such a way because Naina wanted to sleep with him, she clings tightly to part of the man's body. Although Tasya didn't hear much of their conversation before, they fell asleep, it seems that peace has been restored there.
The evidence is how deeply they both sleep.
"Sleep soundly, okay, you two." Tasya smiles broadly. Just as she's about to leave Nathan's side, she's surprised by Nathan's hand stopping her in her tracks. "Nathan? You're not asleep yet?"
"I've been sound asleep, but then you and Naina came." Nathan opens his eyes slowly, trying not to disturb his sleeping daughter. He gently kisses Naina's forehead. "I love Naina so much, Tasya."
"I know." Their entwined hands tighten even more, according to Tasya. "I can see it for myself."
"I was talking about our relationship with Naina earlier."
Tasya's brow furrows. "Seriously? At a time like this?"
"What's the matter?" Nathan laughs, though not loudly. He has to hold back, but what can he do? Tasya's facial expressions are just too funny. "For me, there's nothing to postpone, especially since my plans definitely involve Naina. I don't want her to feel left out, Tasya."
"I don't want that either, Nathan. I mean, talking about our relationship, you can do it when you're better."
"Well, it was actually Naina who brought it up first."
"What did she say?" Tasya becomes even more curious.
"She asked me, 'When is Tasya going to be my mommy, Daddy? Don't take too long. I want to show off to Gio that I have a new Mom. Does he think he's the only one who can show off?""
Nathan's recovery process didn't take long. His injuries weren't too severe either. What mattered most to Tasya and Nathan's extended family was his overall condition after a series of examinations. As soon as the doctor declared that there was nothing to worry about regarding Nathan's condition, they were extremely relieved.
Don't ask about Sunny's excitement when she saw Nathan the next day. Nathan had discouraged his mother from visiting not because he was afraid of disturbing her, but because she had other commitments that couldn't be postponed. However, Nathan didn't forget to update Sunny on his health. He did it through Tasya.
Two weeks had passed since Nathan had returned to his usual activities. There was no such thing as delaying the progress of the Faldom project, including in Sidoarjo. Although Nathan couldn't visit there immediately, he had asked two competent team members from the marketing team to represent him.
"How are Erick and Denis?" Nathan asks shortly after entering his office.
"There was an email yesterday evening, but I haven't opened it because I was on my way home," Tasya places her work bag down. "I'll check it first. I'll report to you soon, Sir."
Nathan nods quickly. "Oh, by the way, there's a lunch invitation from Nadine. You've already confirmed, right?"
"I have," Tasya smiles broadly. "I've also prepared a gift as a token of appreciation for helping Faldom."
She pulls out one of the chairs. "It's tiring to drive in traffic, though."
"Overboard," Tasya replies while opening the work documents on her computer screen. The corner of her eye glances at Nathan's schedule calendar, filled with scribbles. Her brow furrows slightly as her eyes suddenly focus on the calendar. "Why is your schedule empty today? Just lunch with Ms. Nadine?"
"You forgot, Tasya?" Nathan straightens his back. "Oh my God, I made today special, and you forgot? You're so heartless to my life."
"Heartless? Weren't you the one monopolizing my freedom for the past few years? During my time as your assistant, most of my annual leave involved you. I even accompanied you on your vacations." Nathan sighs. "You make it sound like you're burdened by me."
Tasya smirks. "But seriously, I forgot what's special today, huh?" She checks her tablet. "There's nothing that needs adjusting."
Nathan grows impatient. "After the meeting with Ms. Nadine, we'll go for a fitting, and then to the hospital to visit your mother."
Tasya, in the midst of adjusting Nathan's agenda and work notes, stops abruptly. She gazes at the man sitting in front of her in amazement. "Seriously?"
"I don't look like I'm lying, Tasya," says Nathan, folding his arms across his chest. "You forgot something so important? Seriously, do you want to marry me?"
Hearing Nathan's words, Tasya bursts into laughter. "I really forgot, Nathan. Usually, when it comes to you and work with no breaks,"
"You keep on teasing," Nathan pouts, not pleased. "I've given you a lot of freedom, you know. I also agreed not to let Mama rely too much on you. But now it seems like I'm the one being sidelined." Laughter still fills their workspace. "I'm sorry, Nathan. I completely forgot. Anything related to you and us should be on my radar."
"You're forgiven." Nathan can't stay mad at Tasya for long. "Well then, I'll wait for Erick's report. So you can get to your part quickly, and we can take care of the rest."
Tasya's smile widens. "Got it, boss."
As Nathan's back disappears behind the glass door of the mostly glass-walled room, Tasya's smile refuses to leave. Her mind can't let go of their conversation, which she considers simple but deeply touching. Especially Naina's acceptance, which has left Tasya's heart fragile and trembling.
"Naina just wants a Daddy and Mama who love her, that's all. In my opinion, that would be Mama Tasya. Will you be my mom? I won't be naughty. I can behave. I'll be a good Raptor child. I'll even help Mama Raptor punish Daddy Raptor if he's being annoying."
Without hesitation, Tasya nods enthusiastically. She receives a warm hug from Naina, even though she has to balance herself to avoid falling due to the girl's sudden movement. Then, the next day, Nathan casually announces in front of Sunny that he doesn't need to propose to Tasya for him. Naina has already done it quite well.
Oh God! Tasya can't remember what color her face was at that moment. Nathan and his casual remarks often infuriate her to no end.
"Is that right, Tasya?" Sunny asks with a bright smile, replacing the worry she had due to the news of Nathan's accident. "Mama has to be quick in preparing all of this. Oh dear, why is it that neither children nor grandchildren can avoid giving their parents heart palpitations?"
"We also need time to prepare everything, Ma. There's no need to rush," Tasya doesn't know what to say. She can't just rush and prepare everything, right? This is a marriage, something meant to last a lifetime, she hopes. There's no desire for it to falter in the middle of their love story, even though she's sure it won't be as smooth as a freeway. But at least, they can talk about what's wrong and what's missing, and they can adapt to each other unless there's a third party involved. "Oh, you don't know, Tasya!" Sunny pats her forehead. "I'm protecting you, Tasya."
"What do you mean?"
"I'm afraid my grandchild will come before you two get married," Sunny whispers without guilt. "Because Nathan is a serious playboy. I'm not sure you can handle his behavior every day, especially since you're always together, right? To keep Mama's heart healthy, Tasya. Okay?" Tasya just touches her forehead.
So everything was sped up, including the engagement, which will take place this weekend. Nathan's preparations for the event could be considered quite grand. Where is that statement of his about everything being simple? It's non-existent! It's just empty talk! Tasya protested vehemently because this engagement event was taking place at Faldom. The lunch event was transformed into a grand celebration involving all the company employees.
Can you imagine how many questions are in the eyes of all the employees, right? Especially regarding the question of who the lucky woman is going to stand by the company leader. Many questions were directed at Tasya, and she was unsure how to respond. If she were to open up about the lucky woman who had won the heart of the company's Casanova, she could be sure she would get a lot of teasing. It's no secret that Nathan has many fans among the employees at Faldom. Maybe this is what also made Tasya forget a bit about what she should be thinking. Without realizing it, her hand opened a drawer where she kept some personal items, including a box containing dolphin earrings that Nathan had given her. Their sparkle made Tasya smile faintly. It's not that she didn't want to wear them more often, but it felt like a waste, and they didn't quite match her ordinary appearance.
"What kind of dress should I try?" She sighed softly. "Oh." She gently rubbed the gem in the middle of the earring. "Blue might suit me." She closed her eyes, picturing herself in a blue dress.
"Oh my goodness!" She sighed softly. She rested her head on the table, not sure what to do now. Her phone vibrated softly, but because Tasya was lost in thought, it startled her. She had to pat her chest to calm her racing heart. An unfamiliar number appeared on the screen.
0812******8778:
I'm Seira. I heard from Naina that you're getting married to Nathan soon? I suspected as much. Congratulations on your choice. I believe there's sincerity in Nathan's heart. And you're lucky; your world won't be lonely with Naina around. Her hands quickly replied to the message, filled with a happy smile.
Tasya:
Thank you. I hope Mr. Robert and Mrs. Seira can attend our wedding a month from now. The invitation will follow soon. 0812******8778:
We'll try to make it. When else will we get to see Naina finally have a new Mama?
Tasya's smile grew wider. For some reason, her fingers typed something she regretted. It happened so fast, and it couldn't be taken back easily because it was immediately read by the recipient! Oh my God! 0812******8778:
Okay. When can we meet? I'll help you make Nathan think twice about looking away from you.
"I'm doomed!" Tasya exclaimed without realizing it. She threw herself back into the chair's backrest. Her hand reflexively messed up her hair, not caring that her front bangs were all over the place. Her eyes were fixed on her own typing. "Can I ask for your help, Mrs. Seira? I'm not good at choosing a dress for our engagement ceremony this week."
"Just cry, then!" Tasya laid her face on the table. Mourning her foolishness. But... "But if Mrs. Seira is willing to help, why should I worry? Mrs. Seira seems nice."
She quickly grabbed her phone to contact the recipient of her absurd message. Once connected, Tasya immediately said, "Are you okay with it, Mrs. Seira?"
