MATED TO THE STRONGEST ALPHA
Chapter Fourteen

*Selene's POV

A knock sounded on my door, and I opened my eyes slowly. "Come in," I mumbled.

Yesterday was a rather tiring day; the party didn't end until quite late at night. It was however very fun and exciting. I was happy to have been officially welcomed into the Lycan family.

My eyes were still almost completely closed as I saw someone with a familiar silhouette walk in.

"Good morning, princess. I apologize for disturbing your sleep. It seems you aren't fully awake."

I finally opened my eyes fully. It was Malia.

I raised my head and arranged my hair behind my ears. "Good morning, Malia. It's okay. I hope I haven't overslept."

"Not quite princess."

"Okay."

My mind went to my parents, as they had also been awake quite late the day before. "What of my parents? Are they still asleep?" I asked almost immediately.

"The king and queen left this morning for an urgent business meeting; however, someone is waiting for you in the living room," she said without me asking about it.

I frowned and looked at her. "I have a visitor? Who is the person waiting for me in the living room? Do I know this person?"

"Axel Timeless. He has been waiting for you since 7 in the morning."

I looked at the clock. "He waited for me for almost an hour? Why did he come here?" Why did he come here so early in the morning? My father did say he was my trainer, but he didn't mention coming here early in the morning today. "He said your training would start today."

"Do my parents know this?"

"Yes. Before they left the palace for business, they talked to Axel."

I didn't say a word. It was quite early in the morning to start training. But there was nothing wrong if I would come with that man. Since my parents told me before about the training. And I was determined to do what my father said. I needed this training to grow stronger.

I thanked Lady Malia for telling me and went straight to the living room to talk with Axel. I didn't personally know Axel, but I wanted to know him more. He would be with me for at least more than a month, for my training period. So, it was better to know him better. I wanted him to be my friend since his father and the King were friends.

I arranged myself when I saw his back. His aura was strong; I felt it even with his back turned on me. I cleared my throat as I walked toward him. It seemed like he noticed that I was behind him. He slowly looked at me. I saw his strong eyes again. He didn't smile at me even though I gave him mine. He looked even more intimidating now than yesterday. Before I could utter any words, he looked at his watch. "It is late in the morning." He sounded like an upset teacher.

"I didn't know you were coming here. I thought my training would start some other time," I reasoned with a low voice.

"Okay."

He looked serious; I hoped I could get along with him. I felt nervous about my training. I walked closer to him as he stood up. He was tall, so I needed to look up to see his face. His dead, serious eyes penetrated my soul. "May we begin now?" "Have you had your breakfast?"

I shook my head. "I just woke up, and Lady Malia told me that you waited for me since 7."

"Pretty much. I came here early for the Lycan King, not for you."

I didn't say a word. I just looked at him. I didn't get his attitude.

"Have your breakfast first. You looked famished. You look weak. Is this how you normally look, or is it just now? Well, you also looked like this at the party, so I guess this is how you normally look." He didn't even wait for me to talk. He just walked away and didn't even look at me.

"Do I look weak?" Why do men always glance at me once and declare that I'm weak? Is it that obvious? They always looked down at me. Is it because I'm a woman?

I rolled my eyes and got back to Lady Malia. I wanted to eat a lot of food; he just pissed me off. I was going to prove to him that I was not weak. He would regret telling me those words.

That bastard!

When I got to the kitchen, I saw Lady Malia putting food on plates. My parents were not here, so I must be the only one who would eat those delicious foods.

"I felt even hungry. Is that steak?" I asked Lady Malia, with my eyes fixated on the food.

"Yes." Happily, she answered me.

Against Lady Malia's wishes, I took the plates to the dining room myself and sat down. I held my tummy. I felt the hunger even more.

I was about to pick up the steak when someone tapped my hand. I was startled and instantly dropped the food back onto its plate. With my eyebrow raised, I looked back to see who the person was. I saw Axel. "What are you doing?" I asked him with visible irritation in my voice.

"That is not good for you. You need to eat vegetables. You look malnourished."

I looked at my body. Is there a problem with my body?

"Lady, please bring more vegetables. From today until our training ends, she is to eat vegetables. She needs more nutrition," Axel said to Lady Malia, who had followed me from the kitchen.

"I will prepare it now."

My eyes were focused on the steak that Lady Malia took. I wanted to eat that.

"Is this part of the training, or do you just want to torture me?"

"If you felt this was torture, this gives me an even better idea of how weak you are, princess." There was a tease in his words. And then he gave me his smile, but his eyes showed that he wanted to torture me.

My training had not even started, but I felt that this man wanted to kill me. Maybe this was not a good idea. I thought he was nice, like how he appeared at the party last night, but I was wrong. He was completely different.
