"I didn't feel suffocated at all; in fact, I kind of like it," she said casually, her voice light and breezy.

The actress raised her eyebrows in surprise.

Matthew had become quite the buzz in the industry lately. He had taken over his family's company, which now rivaled Stellar Stage Entertainment, practically splitting the domestic market. His overseas projects were thriving, too. For someone so young, he had a knack for business that was both impressive and a little intimidating.

Yet, with Aubree, he was surprisingly laid-back.

Take last week, for example. Some folks were gossiping behind Aubree's back, calling her a cougar and betting on when she'd get dumped.

When Matthew got wind of it, he was ready to blacklist the gossipers right then and there. Everyone tried to calm him down, pointing out that the celebrity in question wasn't inherently bad, just a bit of a chatterbox. Even the director pleaded, but Matthew was unmoved, his demeanor icy.

Then Aubree got a call and passed it on to Matthew.

Almost instantly, everyone saw his frosty attitude melt away, replaced by warmth and tenderness.

"Aubree?"

"Matthew, I heard about the situation. Don't blacklist her. I've worked with her before, and she's not a bad person. Plus, she's not the only one with that opinion. Are you really going to silence everyone? Let's just move on, okay?" Matthew's lips curled into a smile. "Okay."

He was surprisingly easy to calm down.

After hanging up, he dropped the issue and left.

Since then, anyone who upset Matthew quickly called Aubree, knowing he'd listen to her above anyone else.

But Aubree wasn't just a yes-man for others. When someone was truly out of line, she stood firmly by Matthew's side.

Two months rolled by, and the rumor mill was buzzing about when they'd break up. Some bet on three months, others on a year. Almost no one thought they'd last.

But to everyone's amazement, Aubree and Matthew seemed to get closer every day. Despite their busy schedules, Aubree would sometimes drop subtle hints about their romance on Twitter, though most fans were oblivious. Dedicated fans analyzed every post, finally guessing Aubree was indeed in a relationship.

"Could it really be with that 18-year-old guy?"

"Who's really clean in this industry? That guy must be a real charmer to have her hooked."

"If it's the same guy whose looks and background were revealed before, maybe it's Aubree who's got him wrapped around her finger?"

Fans and onlookers argued fiercely online, reigniting interest in Aubree's love life.

Coincidentally, a movie Aubree starred in with Casey was

nominated for the Oscars, so she had to attend the red carpet event overseas. She skimmed through the online chatter but didn't comment.

It wasn't her first Oscar nomination, but she had always been a runner-up.

This film, her favorite project with Casey, had her particularly excited about her dress. Matthew helped her pack, saying he'd go with her.

Aubree didn't say no.

They jetted off together.

Two days later, Aubree walked the red carpet, with cameras snapping her every move. Her photos were quickly shared back home, sparking a frenzy of online buzz.

Every rise in her popularity brought her mysterious relationship back into the spotlight.

Sitting among international stars, Aubree represented a rare success story for an Asian actress at the Oscars. Matthew, seated just behind her, inevitably caught the camera's attention whenever it panned to Aubree.

Back home, fans watching the live stream captured these moments.

"Isn't the guy behind Aubree the younger man?"

"Following her to the Oscars - that's got to be true love."

"He's stunning. If I were Aubree, I'd choose him too. She's got it all; why someone young, handsome, and full of energy? Isn't that every

woman's dream?"

The internet was once again ablaze with debate.
