Maid for the Mafia
The Last Time

**ROMANY**

My entire body seized.

Alex stood there, leaning against the doorframe. Impeccably dressed in his usual three piece suit. The usually sinister scowl he wore was a little more twisted than usual, a little more angry. The green fury of his gaze kicked up to about a thousand degrees. I was surprised he wasn't breathing *actual* fire from his nostrils, he looked so mad.

"Calm yourself, Alex," Enzo said innocently. "We were only making conversation."

Alex's eyes narrowed as he shifted his gaze toward Enzo. "Oh I know *exactly* what you were doing," he replied. "Make no mistake about that."

I gazed at Enzo, the look of exasperation on his face seemed sincere as he bowed his head in apology. "Fine," Enzo said. "It was my fault. Don't blame the girl. I initiated the conversation. She did nothing wrong."

Alex chuckled, shaking his head. "You are truly amazing, Enzo," he spat. "Bravo. With such a dedicated performance, one almost wonders what it is you plan to achieve."

Enzo glared, standing up. "I'm not going to listen to this paranoid bullshit so early in the morning. I'll be in my suite should you like to discuss things a little more rationally." He turned to me, "It's been a pleasure Miss Romany. I'll see you again." Then without another word, he left.

"Was that truly necessary?" I asked, standing as well.

Alex straightened, glaring at me with wild eyes. "Come with me," he hissed.

I swallowed nervously, but did as told. He led me down the hall toward his office, bypassing the maids and the guards without so much as a second look as he fairly raced ahead of me. I had to run a little just to keep up with him. Once he unlocked his office door, he gestured me inside, his eyes shooting daggers at me the entire time.

I stepped into the space cautiously, flinched when he slammed it shut and locked the bolt in place.

I walked as confidently as I could toward the chairs in front of his desk, but his voice stopped me.

"Don't sit," he snapped. "Stay right the fuck there."

My body froze, trembling just slightly at the cold fury radiating from him. Visions of what happened the last time he was this mad danced about in my head and I shivered in anticipation.

"Your services are needed upstairs in the meeting room," he said. "I had hoped you could have been present to watch us work, but unfortunately it went a bit faster than expected." He glared, his voice mocking, "It seems that *some* people could hardly control themselves. They made quite the mess of poor, dumb, Gerald."

I nodded, secretly glad I didn't have to watch him be murdered.

He chuckled, stepping up to circle me like a predator. His eyes went hot with fury. I watched him quietly, doing my best to hold my ground before he stopped directly in front of me and shook his head in disappointment.

"As for this morning... with Enzo," he began. "I cannot believe your audacity." He seethed at me, snarling his words through clenched teeth. "You know you are never to speak to any of the other bosses!"

I lifted my chin in defiance. "No, you said I couldn't *fuck* any of the bosses, not that I couldn't speak to them. I was only being polite."

"Polite?" Alex chuckled humorlessly, his lips twisting up in a sneer. "There seem to be quite a few that you've been being *polite* to. He's not the only one. Or did you think I didn't know about the others?" My eyes flared. "Seriously?"

His gaze frosted over. "Did you enjoy your swim with Mickey, yesterday?" He inquired, grinning when my mouth fell open in shock. "Did he fuck you behind the waterfall the way he has so many others? Or maybe during the night, while you slept in his room?"

I gasped, my cheeks flaming. Shaking my head, I said, "N-no! W-we just-"

I broke off as Alex stalked toward me, his powerful chest pressing me into the wall at my back. His arms came up on either side of my head, caging me in and bringing a rush of heat to pool between my legs as his green eyes darkened to black. "Perhaps, you don't understand the gravity of what you've done. Enzo knew exactly what he was doing this morning. And whether you choose to admit it or not, you knew better than to engage with him. You played right into his trap." He leaned forward, his lips on my ear as he bit down hard on my earlobe. "That is the last time you disrespect me."

I cried out, "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to-"

"No!" he snapped, coming away from my face. "You are not sorry. Not yet. You violated the rules and now, I will change them."

A cold tremble found its way up my spine at his words and a dangerous smile now played about his lips as he watched me. He leered at me, his gaze falling over my body with new hunger before meeting my eyes again. "What? How?" I whimpered. "What do you mean, *change*. the rules?"

"Mickey, Damien, Enzo..." came his incredulous reply. He smirked, stroking his hands behind my head to pet my hair. He spoke in a cruel, quiet voice, "Do you think you are special?" He scoffed, "Do you think those men are your friends?" Alex's hands suddenly fisted, yanking my head back cruelly as he promised, "I will show you who they really are."

I swallowed a sob as my vision blurred and I began to struggle against him, my hands going to his shoulders to try and push him away. But it was no use, he was much too strong, and when he buried his mouth into my neck and kissed me angrily, I couldn't stop him. I banged against his chest, only causing him to grip my hair more tightly as he pushed hard up against me, continuing to attack my neck with feverish kisses.

Then suddenly, he released me with a slight shove into the wall. He was breathing heavily as he adjusted the front of his pants. A look of cold resignation on his face as he studied me. Despite the desire that suddenly pulsed to life at my core, there was something in his eyes that was desperate... even frightening.

"I suggest you get ready." He stepped close to me again, his eyes hot with anger as he snarled down at me, "Because tonight... I will teach you a lesson you will never forget."
