Lyon
Chapter 21

I’m Colton Lyon’s girl, I can’t even…I can’t process all this joy at once, and my heart can hardly stand it I’m so happy.

When I woke up this morning, feeling a little sore from my piercings, and the loss of my innocence, he was so amazingly sweet and attentive.

He’d told me, in his gruff way of course, that I wouldn’t be going in today, and that he’d only be gone a few short hours.

If I wasn’t so sore then I would’ve rolled around on the bed with a big sappy grin on my face. As it is, I’m propped up against a thousand pillows with movies set up to play at the touch of a button, and a pile of magazines at my elbow. And believe it or not, not the girly kind, but car and driver and biker’s mags. He’s so cute.

He’d made me take some pills and promise to take more if the soreness got to be too much. Poor baby, he’d felt guilty about leaving me, but I understood. He had a business to run.

I must’ve dozed off after all, because the next thing I knew, he was traipsing into the bedroom with what looked like packing boxes.

I sat up sleepily still rubbing sleep from my eyes.

“What’s going on?”

“Had a talk with your dad yesterday.”

“What, my dad? About what? I don’t understand.”

“Calm down, Angel, it’s nothing bad. We just had a little chat about our relationship, and what my intentions are, so to speak.”

“Oh, okay.” I was still a little confused as he climbed onto the bed with me.

“First things first. How’re you feeling?”

“I’m okay, but I think I need to take more pills soon though.”

He got up and got me fresh juice to take my pills.

“Here let me have a look.”

He opened the short silk robe which was all I could bear to wear against my skin at this point.

“Everything looks good, baby.”

He sprayed some stuff on my new piercings before opening me tenderly. To check for redness, he said.

“You’re fine, baby. Only thing is, after having you for just one night it’s going to be hell waiting the two or three weeks it’s going to take you to heal.”

He’s saying this as his fingertips are holding me open, so he couldn’t miss the rush of wetness that eased out of my body.

“F**k, Angel, damn…I can’t f**k you, and I don’t even want to risk eating you right now, but f**k…” He shook his head, gave my kitty a sniff, and then he rolled over onto his back with his forearm thrown over his eyes.

I could see his hardness through his jeans.

“You’re not the only one suffering.” Damn, since when did I pick up this annoying habit of saying shit out loud that I wanted to keep hidden?

He turned his head and smiled before ruffling my hair. “I can still k**s my baby though.”

Swoon, does he have to be so damn perfect? Everything he says, and everything he does is so hot I can hardly stand it.

He put actions to words and kissed me teasingly, taking soft nips across my lips before covering my mouth with his.

That’s when I met playful Colton.

She’s f*****g amazing. I’m not one to be taken by surprise, but this little girl has gone above and beyond all expectations. She’s more than perfect to be the one by my side.

She’s going to be out of commission for a while but that’s fine. I’m going to take care of her in between running the shop among other things, like setting things up in Arizona.

The guys already know they have to pick up the slack for the next couple of days, though they don’t know why, and she should be back to work in a day or two.

I think I might be overreacting a bit, but there’s more going on here than the physical changes in her body. She’s also an eighteen year old girl who just became a woman, and we have to celebrate that shit.

I’ve already got something in the works which I hope she’ll love, but I wanted her to know and understand always, how much it meant to me that she’d chosen me.

Sharing a k**s with her makes me hotter than f**k, but I have to slow things down. No sense in getting us both hot and bothered.

“Let’s watch a movie, baby.”

“Yeah, Which one?”

So much excitement over such a small thing. It only made me want to give her more.

“Anything you like.”

“Are you sure, even if it’s a chick flick?”

“If it makes you happy, then I’m all for it.”

I’ve lost my f*****g mind, so let’s hope I still have my balls by the time she’s through with me.

“I’ll go get the popcorn. Anything else you need while I’m out there?”

“Yes, potato chips, soda, cookies, all the goodies.”

F**k, I forgot my woman is a teenager.

I had to laugh at the thought before stealing another smooch.

“Okay, Angel, I’ll be right back.”

We spent the day just lazing around watching her tearjerkers, which I enjoyed because I got to baby her even more.

“Baby, why do you watch this shit if it makes you cry?”

“Because it’s so good.” She sniffed into my chest.

“I’ll take your word for it.”

It felt f*****g amazing to lay here with her doing nothing. I don’t remember doing that shit since I was like seventeen, with my first real girlfriend.

Her fingertips started playing over my bare chest, soft, light touches that made my d**k hard as f**k. I took her hand in mine and pressed it down on my hardness.

“Stop torturing me, babe.”

I felt the tremble in her body as she rubbed me once. I kissed her forehead, gave her a squeeze, and took her hand back in mine resting it on my chest.

“Say something to distract me babe, because there’s no way I’m doing anything with you feeling like crap, so talk fast.”

“Why is only one side of your body tattooed? Why’d you leave this side bare?”

She smoothed her fingers over my ink.

“That’s your side.”

“Huh?”

“That’s where you go, it represents the rib that was taken from me to make you.”

“Me, but what if…what if I’m not your ‘one’?”

“Babe, you wouldn’t be in my bed if you weren’t, and you damn sure wouldn’t be moving in with me.”

“Moving in…”

“Yeah, that’s what I had to talk to your father about, and that’s what the boxes are for.”

“My dad, oh my God, my dad knows?” She covered her face with her hand and hid it in my side.

“Hey, calm down, Angel, it’s not the end of the world. This day was going to come sooner or later, and I think all in all he’s satisfied with the way things turned out.”

She still didn’t look convinced, but in time she’ll see I was right.

DRAKE

***

“Tina, it’s me, Drake…”

“Oh my God Katarina…”

“No, no, nothing like that. I just…have you heard from her yet today?”

“As a matter of fact I haven’t, not last night either, but I didn’t think anything of it.”

“Well, she’s fine, but…”

I wasn’t too sure how to word this, Tina was a wild card, and when it comes to her daughter there’s no telling how crazy she’d get.

“Drake?”

“I’m here, listen, Kat…met someone.”

“What do you mean?”

“A guy, she met a guy.”

“Already, but she just moved there.”

“I know but she seems really taken with this guy, and uh, he came to see me yesterday.”

“Well I guess that’s something anyway, shows the kid has manners, but what does he want with our daughter?”

“Well, uh, shit…she spent the night.”

“She did what, Drake…”

“Look, she’s eighteen years old, so I couldn’t very well stop her now could I. And besides, I didn’t even see her. The boy came to the station and asked if it was okay, then again, now that I think about it, it was more like he was telling me how it was going to be.”

“What! How old is this boy anyway?”

“Uh, that’s the difficult part, Colton’s thirty two.”

“HE’S WHAT?”

“Take it easy, Tina, he happens to come from the premier family in these parts, and his dad’s the head of Greenville General.”

He owns his own business here making custom bikes…he’s just a nice kid, Tina. Now keep in mind this is Kat’s choice, and I didn’t see her, but she left me a note saying where she was gonna be, and I gotta tell ya, I saw those two together and they’re the real deal. The way this guy spoke to me, well, he means business. I have to say I don’t think she could be in better hands.”

“Well I need to know more about this Colton. What’s his last name?”

I gave her the information she wanted and then hung up while hoping my crazy ex didn’t show up here with guns blazing.

Kat was what you might call a late in life baby. Tina and I had been trying what seemed like forever without success, then one day out of the blue, after twenty years of marriage, she decided she was done.

By then we’d drifted apart, and the marriage was basically in name only.

Imagine my surprise when she called me up two months later with the news that she was pregnant.

Six and a half months later I was the proud father of a beautiful baby girl, and it broke my heart that after all this time I wouldn’t get to raise her, but I got to see her every year after her birth.

When that business had happened a few months ago, it had taken all my training not to commit murder, and my profession warred against my fatherly instinct.

I wanted to string those little bastards up by their balls and flay them until there was nothing left, and the one that got away, sheesh, don’t get me started. There was many a night I wanted to go hunt that little fucker down, and bury him somewhere.

The only thing holding me back is that I would essentially be leaving my little girl unprotected. Nothing is more important than her safety and happiness. If Colton Lyon was the answer, then I wouldn’t stand in the way of that.

For the first time in months I’ve seen a glimpse of my little girl, the sweet, bright, funny tomboy who plagued me every summer to do more and more outdoorsy things with her, never a dull moment.

ELENA

***

“Char, hurry up before you let the steam out.”

“I don’t know about this, El, smoking in a steam room just seems like a cocktail for disaster.”

“Oh pooh, Daniel’s been doing it and he seems fine.”

“I’m not sure we should be using him as a yard stick…”

“Never mind that, we have bigger fish to fry…so guess who I got a call from?”

“Who, pass it, El, you hog.”

“Tina Sloane, she’s Drake’s…well I guess you can say wife because they never got divorced…”

“Why’s she calling you?”

“Because of Katarina of course. Seems that my boy, who I apparently raised very well, approached the chief, and get this…asked him for Kat.”

“What do you mean asked him for Kat?”

I waited until her coughing fit was over before retaking the joint from her hand. Don’t ask me what the hell I was doing getting stoned.

“He didn’t ask for her hand in marriage, he asked, or rather, told the chief, and I quote, ‘ you did your part for the first eighteen years of her life, and now I’m taking over’.”

“Oh wow, he said that?”

“Get that look off your face heifer, cougar you ain’t.”

“Hey, I look good, chick.”

“Yeah, for a coyote maybe.”

We cracked up at our own silly jokes as I rode the high of finally being on the road to having some grand babies.

“Shit, I didn’t know Colton was such a smooth talker…man.”

“He’s his father’s son, let’s hope for Kat’s sake that’s true in more ways than one.”

“You’re a badass, El.”

We were off again.

“Well, well, well, what have we here. You two bombed?”

“Hey, doc, how the hell are ya?”
