At dawn, Janey called, expressing her longing for Raegan and Mitchel.

Raegan talked to Janey for a while, trying to comfort her.

After the call, Raegan returned to Mitchel's side to check his temperature. It was 98.78 degrees Fahrenheit. She was relieved to see that her fever had not returned. The tension he had felt all night began to disappear.

Raegan sat next to the bed, caressed Mitchel's face, and whispered, "Mitchel, please wake up, okay?" Let's wake up and have a happy life together..."

Mitchel didn't move.

The sadness in Raegan's heart grew little by little. He grabbed her wrist and gently pressed it against her cheek to feel her pulse. The rhythmic tapping was a calming presence.

Then, out of nowhere, a loud bang. Someone burst into the room, throwing the door wide open.

«I have come to see my son. Dare to block me again and you'll wish you hadn't. Luciana's voice resonated strongly.

Surprised, Raegan let go of Mitchel's hand and quickly stood up.

Seeing Raegan, Luciana stopped dead, her eyes wide with disbelief.

Time had not been kind to Luciana. He seemed to have aged years in just a few moments. Her complexion was ashen, a stark contrast to the woman Raegan remembered.

Thinking back, Luciana had pushed for them to break up, but she had never truly hurt Raegan. Politely, Raegan began, “Mrs. Dixon, I…”

But before the words came out, Luciana lunged at her and slapped her.

Raegan held her cheek in shock, rooted to the spot, unable to respond.

Matteo, equally stunned, reacted quickly. Before Luciana could attack again, he grabbed her arm, his voice firm. “Madam, this is not right!”

“Let go of me!” Luciana fought back forcefully, her rage showing no signs of calming down. He pointed it directly at Raegan's face, scolding her: "This is all your fault! Since you came back, my son hasn't gotten out of bed. Stay away from him.

Raegan felt the sting of the slap on her face, leaving her dazed.

It seemed like Luciana had just found out about his return.

Matteo tried to intervene. «Please, ma'am. "Miss Foster has been looking after Mr. Dixon for the last few days, and he has heard of her return."

“Get out of my way!” Luciana's outburst was too much for Matteo. «You can't even take good care of your boss. What good are you as an assistant?

Matteo preferred not to respond, silently accepting the criticism. After all, that woman was Mitchel's mother.

After berating Matteo, Luciana then directed her anger at Raegan, throwing her purse at him while curtly demanding, "And you, go away!"
