Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook -
Chapter 539

Thinking it was the bad sign, Raegan asked, "Mitchel, are you still there?"
"Yeah." After the brief response, Mitchel said nothing more.
Unknown to Raegan, Mitchel was sitting in the car and staring at the dazzling neon lights of the hotel. He asked in a deep voice, "Do you want me to go there to accompany you?"
Raegan became nervous and hurriedly said, “No, it's okay. Anyway, I'll be back tomorrow."
His answer was simple, but Mitchel felt like he was slapped by an invisible hand.
Hearing Raegan's response, Mitchel fell silent.
Raegan was taken aback by Mitchel's unusual silence tonight. Just as he was about to continue asking, he heard a soft cough. It seemed like Austin was the one coughing.
Startled, Raegan quickly covered the mouthpiece and whispered softly, “I'm going to bed. Let's talk tomorrow.
With that, Raegan ended the call.
"Beep…"
Mitchel let out a mocking smile. The busy tone, playing a mocking tune, seemed to laugh at him. His inner turmoil was beyond words.
Mitchel regretted ending the meeting early because he was in a hurry to get back to Ardlens. He felt like he shouldn't frantically search for Raegan after failing to reach her on the phone. He regretted running to Ashfield upon discovering her whereabouts.
Shortly before, Mitchel calmed down. He kept telling himself that Raegan and Stefan were probably solving some problem, and that was why they had ended up at the hotel together.
When Mitchel saw Stefan come in with a bag of medicine, his first thought was if Raegan was sick.
Mitchel felt a strong urge to break in, but decided to stay in the car, waiting for Raegan's call. He was doing everything in his power to avoid doing something Raegan might hate.
Just before Raegan called, Mitchel reminded himself, As long as she says she's with Stefan, I have to trust her. "I can't afford to get unreasonably jealous and upset her."
But Raegan didn't mention Stefan. Instead, he mentioned that it was someone he didn't know. So Raegan lied to him again.
Mitchel felt his phone tense and then relax. "Go back," he ordered.
Matteo, caught off guard, stammered, "Mr. Dixon, are you sure?"
Matteo hadn't heard what Raegan had said, so he was a little confused.
After all, Mitchel hadn't stopped all day, rushing back to Ardlens from Berton after finishing his meetings. Discovering Raegan's location, he ran from Ardlens to Ashfield. All that effort was to see Raegan. The sudden decision to return without setting eyes on Raegan baffled Matteo.
"Yeah". The heavy and disheartened response came from Mitchel.
Matteo, sensing his bad mood, did not insist any further and quickly started the car.
Back in Ardlens, Mitchel got out of the car, silent.
Matteo, taking a large box out of the trunk, asked: "Mr. Dixon, would you like me to carry this up for you?"
The box was full of fresh seafood that Mitchel had picked out himself, after clearing the seafood market.
Mitchel had looked forward to a joyous dinner with Raegan, which he had completely forgotten about.
Mitchel looked away, his face showing disappointment. “You can keep it.”
Matteo, surprised, put the box back into the car.
The next day.
Raegan had breakfast delivered to her hotel room.
After eating, the woman and Austin went down first, followed by Raegan.
Once everyone was ready, Stefan drove them to the destination, arriving quickly.
