Mitchel instinctively leaned back as Lauren wrapped her arms around his waist.

Lauren's arms dangled. She seemed surprised, to say the least.

The room fell into dead silence in an instant.

Embarrassed, Lauren withdrew her hands and balled them into fists.

His eyes turned red as he asked, "Mitchel, do you hate me now?"

"Of course not".

Mitchel handed him a piece of tissue as a consolation.

«I already knew it. "Now I'm just a burden." Lauren burst into tears.

"I shouldn't have come back."

"Don't be stupid!" Mitchel stepped forward and squeezed his shoulder.

«You are not a burden to me. No matter what happens, I will always take care of you.

"Mitchel, I know you would never leave me." Lauren gripped his hand tightly as she looked at him with obsessive eyes.

Mitchel didn't leave until Lauren fell asleep.

As soon as the door closed, Lauren, who had been pretending, opened her eyes.

He had just noticed a strange fragrance on Mitchel's clothes.

It was very faint, but I could bet it was coming from a woman.

Now there was only one woman near Mitchel. Only Raegan could have gotten close enough to put her scent on him. Phew!

Meanwhile, as soon as Mitchel got into the car, his assistant asked, "Where to, Mr. Dixon?"

Mitchel loosened his tie and pressed his fingers to his temples. He answered wearily: "To Crystal Bay."

Upon arrival, he went straight upstairs and entered the apartment password with ease.

The door to the master bedroom was ajar. As soon as he entered, Mitchel saw Raegan sleeping on his side.

Her hair was messy and the strap of her nightgown hung off her shoulder, exposing part of her collarbone and chest.

Mitchel felt his forehead with the back of his hand and found that his fever had gone down.

He extended his hands to cover her. At this moment, Raegan suddenly turned around with her face a little red. He unconsciously said, “Water… I want water.”

Mitchel quickly grabbed him a glass of water. He leaned down to call her name softly.

She didn't answer. His eyebrows rose slightly as he sat on the edge of the bed, pulled her into his arms, and carefully gave her the water.

It seemed like he was very thirsty because he drank more than half of the water in the glass.

Under the dim light, her rosy lips shone after being moistened with water. They looked very appetizing. Mitchel's eyes drifted to his chest as she lay weakly in his arms.

As she became aroused, Mitchel wiped Raegan's lips with her index finger.

It seemed like Raegan sensed his presence because she was murmuring inaudibly.

In the end, Mitchel withdrew his hand. His fingers could still feel the warmth of her lips, sending a surge of heat through his body.

He quickly laid her on the bed and tucked her in before leaving the room.

It was almost noon when Raegan woke up the next day.

The call was from Nicole Lawrence, her best friend, who had just returned to town after going on vacation. Nicole invited Raegan to dinner.

When she raised her head to look at him, Raegan saw that Kieran was acting like he was in love with Nicole, like he hadn't done anything.

In the middle of the meal, Kieran excused himself to go to the bathroom.

Once Nicole and Raegan were alone, Nicole asked, "How have you been?"

Raegan knew what Nicole meant. Raegan had never hidden anything from Nicole, including her relationship with Mitchel. Even if Raegan didn't tell Nicole, the Lawrence family had connections, so Nicole knew more about Lauren than she did.

Raegan opened her mouth to speak, but suddenly felt sick. She covered her mouth and ran to the bathroom.

Raegan did not use the bathroom next to the dining room for fear that Nicole would suspect her pregnancy.
