Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook -
Chapter 473

“Raegan…” Mitchel's voice was rough as he spoke her name, the plea caught in his throat.
What Mitchel feared most had happened. Despite having regained her memory, Raegan was unwilling to forgive him. He couldn't ignore the pain and suffering he had caused her. His involuntary errors did not absolve him. He knew too well that he had no right to seek her forgiveness. His only path was to aspire to redemption.
Before Mitchel's pale face, Raegan's eyes brightened with some thoughts, and a bitter smile appeared on her lips as she said, "Mitchel, you should have wanted me to forget our past forever."
Mitchel's expression darkened at his words. Indeed, he had wanted Raegan to forget past sorrows. I didn't want him to hold on to those painful memories. I wanted him to be happy every day, like he had been before he regained his memory.
Mitchel was determined to make it up to Raegan, to make sure she didn't come to harm again. They wanted to start over with her, and he would give her and Janey the best. He would cherish them all his days.
He recognized his selfishness. However, he simply wanted to spend the rest of his life with the woman he wanted and his daughter. The possibility of Raegan remembering everything one day had crossed his mind, knowing that by then she might hate him. However, that didn't stop him from imagining a future with her.
Mitchel had no intention of lying to Raegan. With a voice full of sincerity, he confessed: "I hoped you could forget those painful memories and find happiness forever..."
Raegan didn't feel like listening to him anymore. It was difficult to know what was true and what was not. «It's a pity that your dreams have failed. "I will no longer be as naive as I was five years ago, to be your puppet, to come and go as you please."
Raegan gave a small smile. "Because now, you... I don't care about you anymore!"
Mitchel's face turned ashen, his heart like it was split in two. He felt like a balloon that was deflating, about to give way. He didn't care anymore. She had abandoned him.
Please, Raegan, don't do this to me. Don't leave me, I beg you..."
Undeterred, Raegan continued to speak ruthless words: “Mitchel, I had given up on you a long time ago. Remember that we got divorced. Our marriage ended five years ago, and the new marriage was based on your deception.
In my heart, it never had an effect.
Raegan added: "If you think about taking Janey, I'll disappear with her. You will never see us again.
Mitchel's features trembled and his eyes misted. Raegan, what do I have to do so you don't hate me so much? Say it and I'll do whatever..."
Raegan cut him off, her voice cold and inflexible: "Maybe if you disappeared from my life, I would hate you less."
“No…” His eyes turned red with pain. «You know that can't happen. I can't stand living without you. Raegan, have you really forgotten all the good times we shared? Our time together wasn't just about the bad times..."
"Can those moments make up for the pain?" Raegan replied. «Mitchel, since Lauren came back, I haven't had a single day of happiness.
I have completely forgotten any good time we could have had…”
Stung by her icy behavior, Mitchel wanted to hug Raegan, but she firmly pushed him away.
Despite his rejection, she clung desperately to his shoulders, her voice breaking as she pleaded, “We're not done. Raegan, please give me another chance. I will fix everything, I will make you happy..."
Raegan watched the agitation on his handsome face and felt none of the satisfaction she had anticipated. Five years had passed. His regret and self-reproach were now too late to repair the scars she bore.
Over the past five years, the love of her family and friends slowly healed Raegan. Thinking of Nicole and Elin, his heart filled with gratitude. Her old friends had supported her every step of the way, and she, along with Janey, had received endless love from her brother and father.
Everything was fine. One could not stay in the pain of the past and needed to look forward. Mitchel would no longer shape her future, nor would she sink naively into sadness again.
Raegan looked at him, with a smile tinged with irony.
«Mitchel, I once adored you, so much that I lost who I was, became desensitized and deceived myself. But now, all I want is to keep my distance from you.
Determination replaced the pain in his eyes as he said softly, “I don't love you anymore.”
Raegan remembered the agony of their shared past, but she also remembered Mitchel's act of bravery when he protected her from the harm of a knife. He added flatly: “You have hurt me mentally, but you have also protected me from being hurt physically. From now on, we are at peace. Let's move on."
"No, I don't want to!" Mitchel suddenly squeezed her wrist, his eyes glistening with tears against the night sky. «Raegan, I don't want us to move forward. You had promised me that as long as I could earn Erick's approval, you would be with me.
Raegan felt a surge of frustration at this promise before her memory returned. His tone was flat, lacking emotion. "Then let's break up!"
"I won't accept that!" Mitchel's gaze hardened with determination. "I'm not breaking up with you."
"Mitchel Dixon!" Raegan's voice was sharp, her words icy. «I'm not going to be with you. Have some self love. Stop being hysterical, okay?
His words stung. Never in his life had Mitchel encountered such sarcastic comments or such outright rejection. Despite having been the center of admiration all his life, he now faced undisguised disdain.
His heart was twisting hard, hurting unbearably.
Mitchel felt like he was about to collapse. She bit her lip bitterly, holding back the tears from her eyes, and choked: "I won't fight you for custody of Janey, but..."
Mitchel paused, knowing that saying it was about Raegan would push her further away. "For Janey's sake, I'm not going to give up..."
Then, he turned around slowly, his steps heavy as he walked away.
Raegan watched his retreating figure and felt an unexpected pang in her heart. A strange emotion welled up in him. He clenched his fists, forcing himself to suppress it. He consoled himself by thinking that in time he would get over it.
The next morning, as Raegan arrived at the door with Janey, she noticed a sleek black luxury car parked nearby.
