Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook -
Chapter 464

All. It was like reliving a tragic movie in his mind. Raegan had remembered everything.
However, regaining his memories only intensified his pain. Tears ran down her face uncontrollably. Because of Mitchel, Raegan had suffered a lot. Even before she regained her lost memory, she found herself entangled with him again. It seemed like fate was playing a cruel joke on him.
At that moment, the door opened and Stefan entered. His face lit up with joy when he saw Raegan awake. "Raegan, you're awake!"
Raegan nodded weakly and sat up slowly.
"I'm fine," Raegan responded. "By the way, does Erick know that I'm hospitalized?"
Stefan shook his head. "I haven't told him yet."
Stefan had rushed there as soon as he received the news. Seeing Raegan asleep, she had prepared a nutritious soup in case she woke up hungry.
“Can we keep this from Erick for now?” Raegan asked. "I don't want him to worry about me."
Although she had no idea about Erick's schedule, she didn't want to add another burden to him since he had been dealing with the family conflict.
Seeing Raegan's relatively minor injuries, Stefan agreed: "Sure.
Let's wait for him to return and then you can inform him yourself.
"How is everyone at my house?" Raegan asked suddenly.
«I just went there. Annis and Janey are doing well, although Janey misses you a lot. Do you want me to take her to visit you tomorrow? Stefan offered.
Raegan couldn't wait to see Janey. But the possibility of Janey meeting Mitchel at the hospital deterred her.
"I'll be fine after another day of rest," he assured Stefan.
Fortunately, Raegan had not suffered any major injuries. However, he had to spend another day under observation before being discharged.
After some thought, Stefan agreed. Without another word, he brought a lunch box, served it to Raegan and handed her the fork, urging her to eat.
Raegan thanked him sincerely. After a while, he finished eating.
When Stefan cleared the table, he saw a paper on the nightstand. He picked it up and asked, "Raegan, did you draw this?"
Seeing the sketch in his hands, Raegan nodded.
"How did you know this pattern?" Stefan asked, his eyebrows furrowed and his expression growing more serious.
Raegan noticed something strange in Stefan's expression. "Stefan, do you know this pattern?"
Stefan stared at Raegan, his expression unreadable. “Tell me first how you know this pattern.”
Stefan's stern attitude caught Raegan off guard. After a brief pause, she responded, "The man who hurt me had a tattoo of this pattern on his arm."
“The man who hurt you?” Stefan asked in amazement. "Have you remembered the past?"
Not wanting to hide it from him, Raegan nodded.
“Then tell me what happened,” Stefan said. “If you share the details from then, maybe I can help you with this.”
Raegan searched her memory.
At that time, the car he was traveling in crashed because the driver was blinded by the glare of vehicles traveling in the opposite direction.
Upon reflection, Raegan realized that the glow was no ordinary lighthouse. As luck would have it, he was saved from the harmful light thanks to his seat in the back row. After the crash, he observed that the driver's eyes were bleeding and his pupils were charred.
It was clear that someone had orchestrated the incident by intentionally blinding the driver's eyes.
Later, hearing the rescue team approaching, Raegan thought there was still hope.
But then a hand had come through the car window and hit him hard on the head with a hammer.
The car, already hanging precariously from the railing, was pushed and plunged into the river.
Just before she lost consciousness, Raegan caught a glimpse of her attacker, who was wearing a mask that revealed only a pair of exotic eyes. On the attacker's arm there was a tattoo with a characteristic mole in the center.
As Stefan listened to her story, his face became serious. He revealed after hesitation: "It is the emblem of the Maxwell family."
The Maxwell family was a prominent force in Aurora, their influence and strength were similar to that of the Clifford family.
Previously, the Maxwell family had faced suppression from the Clifford family. The disadvantage of being less wealthy than the Clifford family was a factor at play. The Clifford family had hired a formidable army of elite soldiers, making them seemingly invincible.
In recent years, the Maxwell family had gained outside support, attempting to counter the Clifford family and dominate Aurora.
Judging from Raegan's account of her ordeal, it appeared that the Maxwell family was engaged in clandestine murders for hire, which contributed to their rapid rise.
Raegan had already heard about the Maxwells from Erick, who had described them as a powerful family for decades, although they were nothing more than a den of criminals who committed various crimes.
As for Raegan's abandonment plan at that time, apart from Hector, Lauren was the only one who was aware.
As for Hector, it was he who rescued Raegan from the river and organized her subsequent departure from the country.
However, Hector seemed to deliberately avoid meeting the Foster family for years. He had no reason to hurt Raegan. Plus, he had saved her and Janey.
That left only Lauren as a possible culprit. Lauren's intent to hurt Raegan was palpable. After all, she was the mastermind behind every ordeal Raegan had endured five years ago.
However, although Lauren had some national connections, the Maxwell family was located in a foreign country. How had Lauren managed to get in touch with them?
Raegan couldn't imagine it. She contemplated confronting Lauren about it.
