Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook -
Chapter 450

Mitchel coughed a few times and winced in pain. He still had not fully recovered and needed to return to the hospital as soon as possible.
«Erick, I have sent you the details of the Boyd family scandal to your email. Excuse me, but now I have to go back to the hospital. I sincerely hope that you will consider my request.
Erick held the document, mixed emotions swirling in his dark eyes. Lost in thought, he did not speak for a long time.
In the village.
Raegan looked at the fragrant porridge simmering in the pot with a puzzled expression.
At first, she had considered cooking a challenge for her, but after consulting with Annis, she found herself able to prepare the dish skillfully, as if she had done it before.
However, it seemed that Mitchel would not get to try it.
Raegan didn't want to break her promise, but Erick had ordered Victor to watch her even more closely than before. He even restricted his movements to the company and the house. Erick simply wanted Mitchel out of Raegan's life, he didn't want any harm from Mitchel to come his way again.
Raegan stared at the darkening sky, wondering if the stubborn Mitchel would still refuse to eat anything but his plates.
Hearing one more sigh from Raegan, Annis looked at Raegan and asked, "Miss, do you want to go out?"
Raegan hesitated before shaking her head. "It doesn't matter. "My brother won't let me go out."
Annis stared at Raegan. He could tell that Raegan wanted out, but her destination was a mystery.
After some thought, Annis suggested, “I suppose a quick return to deliver the porridge you had cooked wouldn't hurt. Just make sure you do it quickly. "They just invited Victor to dinner."
Reagan hesitated. It wasn't the first time that Erick got angry because of Mitchel.
Annis correctly read the reason for Raegan's hesitation. «If your brother returns before you, I will cover you. "I'll just tell him that you're not feeling well and that you went to bed early."
Annis pushed Raegan toward the door, a note of urgency in her voice as she handed her a thermos. "Go quickly and come back soon."
"OK. Thank you, Annis.
Raegan's face lit up as she headed to the garage with the thermos in her hand. However, the next moment, as if on cue, Erick got out of his car.
Panic gripped Raegan as she wondered why her brother had arrived so early.
Erick approached with a determined step. He narrowed his eyes and asked, “Where are you going?”
“Nowhere…” Raegan's voice shook and she looked at her toes guiltily. The thermos in his hand seemed like incriminating evidence.
Erick looked at the thermos and sighed. She felt like she was playing the role of an evil queen. He looked away and said quietly, "Be home at nine."
"Hey?" Raegan thought she had heard him wrong. Erick's pinched expression suggested that he knew his fate, but his words went beyond his expectations. Why had he agreed to let her see Mitchel?
"Are you really letting me go?" Raegan asked.
"Yes," he confirmed.
To make sure she heard him correctly, Raegan asked again, "Are you really letting me see Mitchel?"
Oblivious to the conversation Mitchel and Erick had had earlier that day, Raegan did not understand Erick's sudden change in attitude.
Erick, slightly annoyed, raised an eyebrow at Raegan and replied, "Don't you want to go?"
Raegan now had the confirmation she sought. Erick actually allowed him to visit Mitchel.
Raegan was taken aback. He wished he could teleport to the hospital right then and ask Mitchel how he had managed to convince his brother.
"Well, I'm leaving," Raegan said as she got into the car.
Erick watched the car speed away and a wave of melancholy washed over him as he thought of his sister growing up and moving away from him. She consoled herself by thinking that she had only gone to see Mitchel and that she was not going to get married right away.
At the hospital.
Luciana was waiting in the hallway.
Soon, Katie came out with an empty thermos in her hand. He smiled at Luciana and said: «Luciana, Mitchel ate everything. He even said your cooking has improved.”
"Oh really?" As Luciana's face lit up with joy, her wrinkles deepened, but somehow they only increased the warmth of her smile.
The past few years of marital discord and a distant son had aged Luciana significantly, stripping her of her once vibrant demeanor.
"Of course, I wouldn't lie to you," Katie assured him, with a seemingly genuine smile.
Hearing this, Luciana felt a burst of happiness. «Mitchel always listens to you, Katie. Were you in a good mood today? Can I go see him?
In reality, Mitchel's attitude towards Luciana was not as bad as it seemed. At the time, Mitchel had been furious because Luciana had held a funeral for Raegan on the riverbank. Mitchel insisted over and over that Raegan was alive.
Mitchel then had a severe stress reaction that kept him hospitalized for weeks, and his condition remained unstable.
As time passed, the misunderstandings between Mitchel and Luciana grew worse, often exacerbated by Katie passing the news back and forth.
Luciana began to be afraid and doubt her place in Mitchel's heart, so Katie convinced Luciana to undergo psychological therapy.
After therapy, Luciana's self-esteem plummeted to the point of questioning every decision. He became dependent on Katie's opinion and often sought her approval for everything, even when it came to seeing Mitchel. If Katie said it wasn't a good time, Luciana agreed without question, afraid of upsetting Mitchel if she insisted on seeing him.
Luciana withdrew from worldly affairs, focusing on silently praying for Mitchel. As Mitchel's mother, the most important thing to her was Mitchel's well-being and safety. He would do anything to ensure it, even if it meant sacrificing everything else.
