Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook -
Chapter 435
? ? ? ? ?
After a while, the feeling of crawling ants returned. The only way to relieve the discomfort was to get into deeper water, letting it cover his upper body as much as possible.
Nicole had to wait for the police to arrive and present evidence before heading to the hospital. Otherwise, there were concerns that the evidence could be tampered with if it was given to anyone present. After all, it was easy to buy people's loyalty.
However, standing in the water was only a momentary relief. Driven by a burning desire within her, she ventured deeper into the pool.
Deniz, lying on the ground, felt that something was wrong. Nicole's shoulders had turned red. It was evident that the drug was taking effect.
Deniz knew that Nicole presenting the evidence would make it difficult for her to escape this time. He never saw this day coming.
His eyes shone with malice. If looks could kill, he would have murdered Nicole with his look! This was a crucial moment. If Nicole didn't die, he would be in serious trouble.
Deniz abruptly raised his hand and bit his arm hard, intending to activate his strength. For the sake of his future, he was willing to give everything.
Then, gritting his teeth, Deniz tore off a piece of his pants leg. He picked up a cobblestone the size of a goose egg and wrapped it in his trembling hands. He pointed it at the back of Nicole's head.
Deniz's eyes radiated malevolence. If he landed a blow, combined with the effects of the drug, Nicole would probably lose consciousness.
If he passed out in the deep waters of the pool, today would be the end of him. The dead don't tell stories.
Deniz was prepared to throw the stone at Nicole.
“Plop!” Someone fell into the water.
Then, the rock that Deniz had aimed at Nicole grazed her shoulder and she fell into the water.
With her vision blurred, Nicole turned around and saw Deniz struggling in the water. "Aid…"
While Nicole was puzzled, a splash of water erupted beneath her.
A man with numerous drops on his handsome face emerged from the depths of the water, grabbed her wrist and asked her sternly: "Do you want to die?"
As faint as Jarrod's voice was, it resonated with an almost uncontrollable ferocity.
Nicole's fragile body experienced a strong tug, falling into Jarrod's aggressive and possessive embrace.
With a stern face, Jarrod barked, "I forbid it!"
Jarrod's skin radiated a searing heat, much more so than Nicole's. It was a sensation akin to being engulfed in a burning inferno, melting her to the core.
Jarrod's body was rigid, almost mechanical. The familiarity that that hug produced seemed to stop his heart. He couldn't bear to relive the heartbreaking pain of five years ago. He was determined to make sure Nicole stayed alive.
Nicole tried to speak, but her face was pressed against his wet chest, preventing her from saying a word. He fought, but it was useless. Jarrod's other hand pressed firmly on her back.
A wave of pain and panic washed over Nicole, lingering in her chest.
With bloodshot eyes and clenched teeth, Jarrod screamed, “Nicole!”
In a tone full of fear, he said, “Don't die. Find another way to punish me..."
His deep voice trembled noticeably, revealing an undercurrent of fear.
Fortunately, her wet eyes remained hidden behind a veil of water that hid her emotions.
With her face covered, Nicole couldn't make out Jarrod's expression, but she could sense the fear emanating from the trembling body holding her. What was Jarrod afraid of?
As Nicole's head weighed, she wondered if her judgment was wrong. After all, what could a man like Jarrod be afraid of?
Nicole felt suffocated, on the verge of running out of air. He was dying, and the tight embrace he found himself in intensified his already desperate longing.
“Mmm…” A weak sound escaped his lips as he struggled to breathe.
Finally, as if coming out of a trance, Jarrod released her head.
«Do you think I want to die? "I wouldn't consider committing suicide even if you died." Nicole scolded harshly, shaking his hand. "Do not touch me!"
Nicole made sure her earpiece was intact, relieved that it hadn't been submerged in the water. Otherwise, all his efforts would have been in vain.
Nicole's body emanated an uncontrollable heat, juxtaposed with Jarrod's presence that simultaneously seared her heart and provided a comforting coolness.
Struggling to maintain her composure, Nicole coldly ordered, “Get out of the way!”
Despite her order, Jarrod took hold of her once more. "Remember your words..."
Easily irritated by the adulterated drink, Nicole gave him an incredulous look. “Get lost!”
Jarrod, unfazed, showed no signs of anger.
Under the night sky, his chiseled profile remained sharp and clear, and his eyes were deep and mysterious. Turning pale, he pronounced: "If one day I die, may I live well."
At that moment, Nicole glimpsed a myriad of emotions in his eyes.
Reluctance, reluctance, desire... But almost immediately, she dismissed the idea, convinced that her mind was dull today. How could someone as cold and ruthless as Jarrod harbor such complex feelings?
With a weak smile, Nicole assured him, "Don't worry. Not only will I live well, but I will celebrate your death with fireworks.
Jarrod's eyes widened, a smirk playing on his lips.
Ignoring Nicole's resistance, he slung it over his shoulder.
Panic gripped Nicole, she gritted her teeth and pounded her fists on his back. “Put me down!”
As if he had turned a deaf ear to her pleas, Jarrod continued to move effortlessly through the deepest part of the pool.
Heavy eyelids and aching body forced Nicole to stop fighting. Instead, she conserved energy by leaning on his shoulder like a docile cat.
A fleeting sensation of pleasure took hold of Jarrod's heart.
Meanwhile, Deniz, who had been kicked into the pool, struggled to get up using the metal protections and collapsed to the ground.
