Chapter 429

Time continued its course. His stamina was amazing. His gaze was intense, almost electric.
For the first time, Raegan realized how seductive a man's breath could be. The rhythm of Mitchel's breathing was intoxicating, loaded with undeniable attractiveness.
Raegan felt as if she were witnessing a mesmerizing solo act, her entire body blushing from head to toe. And now, he was in the awkward position of having to help him go to the bathroom to clean himself.
After experiencing all of that, Raegan became frustrated. "I had helped you... Now you have to delete that recording you made of me."
Mitchel replied in a sexy tone: "Picking the perfect moment, right?" Even now, he couldn't refuse her request.
Watching him delete the recording, Raegan let out a sigh of relief and lay back down on the bed. She brushed her hair behind her ear, revealing her soft, delicate neck. Mitchel swallowed and moved a little closer.
Feeling him approach, Raegan instantly tensed. «What are you trying to do now?
He stepped away, his voice warning. "Try again and I'll leave."
As he spoke, he felt a kiss. It was light as a feather and incredibly soft.
Raegan tried to pull away, but he had already let go of her.
His dark eyes locked onto hers, his voice harsher than ever. “Do you need my help?”
Mitchel knew exactly how to get a reaction out of him. After countless times, he had learned all of its finer points. It wouldn't take long to make her squirm with pleasure.
Raegan's cheeks flushed pink. «No, stop it! I just want to sleep..."
With those words, she wrapped the blanket around herself, making sure that Mitchel couldn't get too close.
Mitchel smiled and respected her wishes.
Lying next to a strong, vigorous man like Mitchel made it suddenly difficult for Raegan to fall asleep.
When her breathing calmed, Raegan surreptitiously opened her eyes. She looked at his strikingly handsome face, illuminated and shadowed under the night lamp, accentuating his sharp features. He looked very good.
However, her overly assertive nature and strong sense of possessiveness sometimes overwhelmed her. When he got angry, his gaze became icy, his dark eyes radiated intensity.
Raegan sometimes found it difficult to understand him. How was it possible for someone with such a quick temper to be so patient with his antics?
Furthermore, he paid close attention to everything she said, although that did not necessarily mean that he was always carefree. His behavior changed drastically every time he saw her with other men, becoming fiercely protective.
As for her shared past with Mitchel, for Raegan it was a blank slate.
From time to time he glimpsed memories, but they were too fleeting to make sense of.
Her entire perception of him began the moment they met recently. Until that moment, he had always been by her side, never losing his temper no matter what she did. She even endured the pain when she was attacked.
What Mitchel had done for her made her feel like he was slowly winning her over, without even realizing it. These feelings were warning signs for her. Raegan realized she couldn't let herself fall into his sweet trap. She decided to keep her distance from him.
After pondering for a while, Raegan gave in to her exhaustion and fell asleep.
Hearing Raegan's soft, even breathing, Mitchel opened his eyes. He wanted to make sure Raegan was sleeping peacefully, so he pretended to be asleep, pulled her close, and set the air conditioning to a gentle temperature.
His face, the only part uncovered, shone like porcelain, pale and luminous. He couldn't resist caressing her soft cheek, his eyes full of affection.
I knew I wanted more than just his presence. He wanted her by his side forever. He wanted to share every sunrise and sunset with her for the rest of their lives.
In the afternoon, Nicole went with her superior to a negotiation meeting.
By the elevator, he met Jarrod, who was there for another meeting.
Jarrod was easy to spot in the crowd, dressed in black, impeccably cut and looking handsome and distinguished.
As Jarrod entered the elevator and turned around, his eyes fell on Nicole, elegantly dressed in a pencil skirt, and he was momentarily captivated.
Jarrod's gaze was icy, charged with a palpable sense of aggressiveness.
After a few seconds of eye contact, Nicole looked away without a trace of emotion.
A bodyguard blocked Nicole's path, with an indifferent attitude. «Entry is prohibited at this time. “Wait for the next elevator, please.”
Nicole obeyed, remaining silent with her documents.
Just as the elevator doors began to close, Jarrod, with his unique fingers, stopped them. His eyes were dark. "Forward".
Hearing this, the bodyguard elegantly stepped aside.
Nicole, who didn't want to get into the elevator with Jarrod, said quietly, "No, thank you."
Jarrod remained impassive, his foot planted on the elevator door, apparently ready to wait.
Passersby began to notice. Nicole's co-workers were nearby.
Feeling the pressure, Nicole moved forward, making sure to keep some distance from Jarrod. “Then, thank you.”
As Nicole approached, Jarrod did not back away, remaining almost intentionally in his place.
Nicole almost crashed into his chest, but stopped just in time.
Their eyes met, Nicole's firm and direct, not looking away this time.
Jarrod, who was nearby, looked at her intently. After a brief pause, he moved away slightly.
There were now four bodyguards in the rather small elevator, forcing Nicole to stand behind Jarrod.
The elevator doors closed and Jarrod stepped back, feeling their presence strongly.
Nicole also backed away to keep some space between them.
