Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook -
Chapter 418

As she tried to get to her feet, Mitchel pulled her into a gentle hug again.
"It doesn't hurt," he whispered, his voice deep and seductive. "Your concern makes me forget all the inconveniences."
Raegan struggled to push him away, careful not to cause him pain.
"Who said I care about you?" she replied, irritated by his assumption.
“Oh, if you're not worried, can I lean on you for a little while?”
He hugged her, finding a comforting warmth, a relief from all tiredness.
Mitchel didn't just lean on her. He enveloped her in a full hug.
His breath on Raegan's neck made her tingle. With each breath, she felt a surge of heat. Raegan's cheeks turned red with embarrassment.
Suddenly, a knock on the door interrupted them. "Mr. Dixon, Miss Glyn is here."
Raegan tensed, the warmth she had felt instantly gone.
Mitchel frowned slightly and pulled back slightly, his eyes trained on her face, taking in every subtle emotion.
Raegan's expression was icy, a wave of discomfort washing over her.
Eric was right. Getting involved with Mitchel had been a mistake. Now she was the one who felt uncomfortable.
Raegan tried to pull away, her voice cold. «Could you let me go?
It is not appropriate. "You don't want your fiancée to see us and get the wrong idea."
Mitchel frowned, confused. Why did he mention the fiancée again? He had already made it clear to her that his relationship with Katie was over.
Mitchel's gaze darkened a little. He didn't repeat the question but simply looked at her. "So, your boyfriend isn't going to get the wrong idea that you're visiting me?"
Irritated, Raegan responded without thinking, “Boyfriend? "What boyfriend?"
As soon as he said it, he realized that he had fallen into a trap. Believing that giving more explanations would only make things worse, he chose to remain silent.
A brief smile appeared on Mitchel's face, charged with a deeper meaning. He was convinced that if Raegan fell in love, she would do it wholeheartedly and she wouldn't have delayed it until now.
From what Matteo had learned, Raegan and Stefan had known each other for three years. The fact that they hadn't been together for those three years, and suddenly claiming that they were now a couple, seemed abrupt to him.
Mitchel didn't know Stefan, but he was sure Raegan was trying to trick him. It was unlikely that he would suddenly fall in love with someone he hadn't fallen in love with in three years.
With a stern look, Raegan said, “I didn't come here for you. "I'm here because my brother hit you and, out of concern for humanity, I wanted to check on you."
Mitchel wasn't bothered by his comment. He adjusted her mask and replied with a slight smile, "It's okay for you to come out of concern, but I'm not going to let you leave just yet."
Then he knocked on the door: “Come in.”
Katie entered, with a thermos in her hand and a graceful and elegant presence. She noticed that Mitchel's shirt was partially unbuttoned, showing off her attractive collarbone, and she felt her cheeks heat up.
«Mitchel, Matteo told me that you have had problems with a bully. How are you feeling?
“It's nothing,” Mitchel replied nonchalantly, his eyes drifting to Raegan who was fiddling with her fingers, making him smile inadvertently.
Katie couldn't help but be captivated by his smile, so attractive and charming. He offered affectionately: "I have some free time these days."
How about I stay and take care of you?
Mitchel's response was forceful. «It's not necessary. Katie felt cold at his response and was glad that no one she knew was around to witness it. Otherwise, it would have been too embarrassing.
However, Katie noticed that Raegan, disguised as a nurse, stood silently to the side. Although Raegan's face was not visible due to the mask, her silhouette was smooth and slender.
Katie looked back at Mitchel, whose bare chest added to his casual appeal. He wondered if the nurse had been taking care of Mitchel. It wasn't usual for him to let another woman be so close.
Katie felt a mixture of suspicion and annoyance. He pointed at Raegan and demanded, "You, get me a glass of water."
Raegan didn't move or look up.
Feeling ignored, Katie's frustration increased, feeling belittled not only by Mitchel but also by a nurse. His voice became high-pitched and a little stern. "Didn't you hear me?"
Trying not to give herself away, Raegan moved to get some water as Katie had asked. However, Mitchel grabbed her wrist.
Mitchel raised his eyelids and said in a cold voice, “All you have to do is take care of me.”
This implied that Katie was not up to giving orders.
Katie was taken aback for a moment, her eyes quickly filling with tears. His voice breaking, he said, "Mitchel, I just wanted some water."
Mitchel stood his ground. "If you are thirsty, find it yourself."
«I...» Katie was speechless, now she didn't want to go get water. After a brief silence, she tried to shake him off. "It doesn't matter, I don't need to drink anything."
Raegan watched this exchange from a distance, feeling sorry for Katie. Despite Katie's submission, she could not gain Mitchel's favor.
Raegan decided to stay out of their drama, muttering, "I'll go out for a moment."
But Mitchel wasn't about to let her go just like that. She ordered Matteo to accompany her out. And he added: "Let him prepare me some soup."
Matteo, surprised, asked: «Mr. Dixon, what kind of soup do you want?
It was unusual for Mitchel to ask a nurse to prepare soup, especially when they had cooks for that job.
Mitchel's expression turned icy. "I just want the soup she makes."
To tell the truth, he didn't care much about the soup itself. His real goal was to find a reason to keep Raegan around.
Matteo caught on quickly and started leading Raegan to prepare the soup.
Raegan wanted to leave, she didn't feel like cooking, but Matteo held her back.
