The blows that Erick had given Mitchel had not led to this pain.

Now, he found himself without the strength to even stand up. His body felt as fragile as a bubble, easily knocked over by the slightest breeze.

Unable to hold himself against the car, he collapsed to the ground.

Matteo ran to Mitchel's aid. The sadness in Mitchel's eyes ignited a painful heat in the palm of Matteo's hand.

Matteo's lips trembled as he murmured, "Mr. Dixon, she shouldn't..."

Matteo tried to find words of comfort, but none came. After all, Mitchel could see through Raegan's attitude.

The observers could see that Mitchel, despite his injuries, held back in the fight since he had heeded Raegan's words. Even having been hit like that, he decided to protect Raegan at the critical moment, ignoring his own injuries. However, Raegan didn't seem to appreciate it.

Matteo extended his hand, offering to help Mitchel get up, but he rejected it.

A mist seemed to envelop Mitchel's once handsome face. Grabbing the door for support, he managed to get up and settle back into the car in silence. He barely noticed the blood flowing from his wounds.

Disheartened by Raegan's apparent indifference toward him, he was numb to physical pain.

His heart was filled with pain far greater than any physical wound could inflict. He had just begun to experience deep bitterness.

After what seemed like an eternity, Mitchel coughed up blood, which dripped from the corner of his mouth. He slumped against the seat, eyes squeezed shut.

"Mitchel!" Matteo exclaimed, abruptly stopping the car.

Matteo rushed to assess Mitchel's condition, finding that his heartbeat was weak and his breathing shallow. With trembling hands, he quickly got back into the driver's seat and sped toward the hospital.

Meanwhile, Raegan was pale and withdrawn in the back seat.

After giving her a glass of hot water and gently convincing her to drink, Erick asked her with concern: -Are you still feeling sick? Hold on. "We will be at the hospital soon."

The image of Mitchel, his upper body soaked in blood, remained vivid in Raegan's mind. A sharp stab of pain hit his heart. In a weak voice, he murmured: "Erick, I think I'm starting to remember something..."

"Do you remember anything after falling into the river?" Erick asked, his eyes lighting up with hope.

By this time, Raegan had been taken to a hospital overseen by the Foster family, her body covered in wounds. An anonymous message had informed Erick of Raegan's identity. Filled with doubts, Erick arranged for a DNA test on Raegan. To her amazement, the results confirmed that it was her long-lost little sister.

However, the identity of the person who had brought Raegan to the hospital and how the other party knew his identity remained a mystery.

The most pressing thing was Erick's suspicion that the other person might be related to his mother's disappearance or, at the very least, know something about it. He was determined to discover the truth.

Raegan massaged her temples, trying to piece together her memories. She remembered the sound of breaking glass and the feeling of being dragged to safety after falling into the river.

The savior's eyes seemed dark and familiar, but his face remained blurry.

The effort to remember caused Raegan intense discomfort. His head was pounding violently, his breathing was labored, and his heart was racing uncontrollably.

«Raegan! "Raegan!" Erick shouted in alarm, seeing her struggle to breathe. Quickly, he took an oxygen bottle from the car's emergency kit and hooked it up.

As Raegan began to stabilize, her complexion remained deathly pale from the ordeal. With a voice tinged with regret, she confessed: “Erick, I'm sorry. I couldn't make out his face clearly..."

Despite his efforts, the fragments of his memory refused to come together. His mind felt as empty as a machine that had burned out.

Erick's heart sank when he saw her. Gently stroking Raegan's back, he reassured her, "It doesn't matter. "You don't have to think about it anymore."

Seeing Raegan in trouble was more than he could bear.

Clearly, his sister's well-being outweighed the hidden truths in his heart.

Upon arrival at the hospital, Raegan underwent a thorough examination. The results showed that she was as healthy as before, except for the head injury, which caused her nerve pain and disturbed her memories. The doctor recommended that she be given time to heal her wounds and advised against forcing her to remember the past if it was too difficult.

Raegan suffered no serious injuries and soon felt rejuvenated after some rest. That's when Mitchel remembered her.

Raegan had left abruptly earlier due to a sudden headache and she wondered how he was faring, especially given the injuries he had suffered at the hands of his brother. Raegan couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt. If he hadn't stopped Mitchel from fighting back, maybe he wouldn't have been so badly hurt.

Mitchel didn't usually give in so easily, but he had submitted to her wishes, which intensified his remorse. Overcome with guilt, she ended up picking up the phone to call him. Despite several attempts, his calls went unanswered.

After some thought, Raegan's worry intensified. Could Mitchel be in a coma? He hurriedly looked up Matteo's number and dialed it.

Matteo picked up immediately, with a voice tinged with surprise. “Raegan?”

Wasting no time, Raegan got straight to the point. «Is Mitchel okay? "I tried to call him, but I didn't get an answer."

"Mr. Dixon is receiving treatment in the hospital," Matteo informed him.

Feeling a tightness in her chest, Raegan asked, "Is his condition serious?"

There was a brief silence before Matteo responded: “I'm not sure.

"The doctor is still with him."

Raegan's heart sank and she felt a chill. The possibility that the last incident had seriously injured Mitchel weighed heavily on his mind. "Could you tell me the result as soon as you find out?" she asked anxiously.

"Of course," Matteo assured him.

Before ending the call, Matteo added: “Well, if you can, please visit Mr. Dixon. Your presence would surely comfort him.

Hanging up, Raegan found herself consumed by her thoughts, unable to find peace.

Driven by the need to do something, she got up, quickly dressed, and prepared to leave for the hospital.

When Raegan opened the door, she was met by Erick.
