Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook -
Chapter 401

The bodyguards' slaps almost tore the skin off Lauren's lips.
Beneath, his lips were bloody, with all the flesh inside showing red. It was horrible and unpleasant.
After countless slaps, the bodyguards found themselves not knowing where to attack next.
With Raegan at his side, Mitchel took one last look at the scene and ordered, "Take this woman and that waiter to the police station."
The waiter's face turned ghostly with fear. But upon witnessing what had happened to Lauren, he did not dare to beg, knowing Mitchel's cruelty. That they took him to the police station without beating him like Lauren was already a blessing.
Lauren felt panic at Mitchel's words. The idea of being sent to prison filled her with dread, knowing that those wealthy ladies she had offended would make things more difficult for her. They could even torture her when she was behind bars.
Lauren knew that with a skilled attorney, the repercussions of her drugging other people wouldn't be serious. However, being taken to the police station and sentenced would mean having a criminal record, which would ruin any chance of rebuilding her life in Ardlens. He couldn't face the thought of never being able to return.
"It just can't be! I can't allow it. There's no way I'm going in! Lauren muttered to herself, her eyes the only part of her that remained clear, staring at Raegan resentfully.
Then, Lauren looked desperately at Mitchel, tears in her eyes, her hands hitting the ground, her face a picture of sadness as if she were begging for mercy.
Raegan, indifferent to Lauren's pleading gaze, approached her and asked coldly, "Do you feel sorry now?"
Lauren was overcome with pain, feeling as if her body was infested with ants, causing both itch and pain. It was killing her.
Lauren tried to speak, but could only manage a weak expletive. "Bitch…"
Seeing Lauren's reaction, Raegan could notice the effects of the drug. She remembered the night Cary forced her onto the couch and fighting her own body's reactions. He vividly remembered his desperation and his efforts to stay calm by slapping himself and biting his tongue.
Raegan felt no compassion for Lauren, thinking that Lauren had it coming.
He scoffed: “Now you're savoring what I've been through.
“Enjoy it.”
Raegan still felt a lingering fear. His resistance had been his salvation, fighting to save himself, clinging to hope until help arrived. He shuddered to think of what could have happened that night.
His life could have been destroyed since then.
Raegan scoffed. Given the history, it was likely that Lauren had made fun of her several times. This was simply Lauren's karma, facing the consequences of her own misdeeds!
Lauren's lips, trembling and unable to meet, kept repeating the same insult. "Bitch…"
Raegan smiled contently and commented, “Be thankful I'm not as cruel as you.
I've just given you a taste of your own medicine. Have a good night."
With those words, Raegan turned on her heel and walked away without a second glance.
Tears blurred Lauren's vision. He saw Mitchel try to grab Raegan's hand, but Raegan shook it off. Despite this, Mitchel continued to look at Raegan with affection in his eyes, as if she were a precious jewel.
This stark difference in Mitchel's attitude only fueled Lauren's bitterness, making her look even more threatening with her red, watery eyes.
"Bitch!" His voice, rough and strained, echoed unpleasantly, full of venom. "Die!"
Seemingly unhinged, Lauren summoned whatever strength she had left to grab and break the handle of the crystal goblet she had just touched and suddenly throw it at Raegan before the effects of the drug consumed her completely.
It all unfolded in a matter of seconds. The bodyguards were caught off guard, and before they knew it, it was too late.
The broken glass, sharp as a knife, caught the light, casting an ominous glow.
Lauren, with all her strength in a desperate movement, had thrown the broken glass against Raegan's neck!
The sharp handle of the crystal was only millimeters from Raegan's neck. At this dangerously close distance, he could easily sever the main artery without any problem.
Two bodyguards standing behind Raegan hurried over, their faces full of fear. However, it was too late.
Raegan was proficient in overseas self-defense skills and could dodge it in a heartbeat.
But seeing Lauren's fierce expression, a bunch of images suddenly came to mind.
«Remember, you are nothing more than an abandoned stray dog…»
"Mitchel doesn't love you or the baby you're carrying..."
«If Mitchel had not chosen to save me before you, your son could have survived…».
Lauren's harsh, deceitful words echoed, followed by another woman's voice.
"He does value you, willing to offer five billion..."
"If Lauren hadn't tricked me into kidnapping you..."
«I never thought I would actually prefer you over Lauren..
Just then, Raegan got a deathly headache. A ringing echoed in his ears, drawing a direct line. His head was filled with endless white noise. He felt like he was under a spell, unable to move even an inch.
Raegan could only watch as the crystal goblet reflected the beautiful light directly at her.
Dry blow! There was a dull sound of flesh being pierced.
Raegan felt nothing, her face had collided with a solid chest. His heart raced, as if it would burst out of his throat at any moment.
Strong arms surrounded her tightly, protecting her entire body.
So much so that it was difficult for him to breathe.
Raegan blinked and looked at the man protecting her. At that moment, he saw Mitchel's look of panic, fear and concern reflected in his dark eyes, unable to hide it. I was really looking forward to her…
