Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook -
Chapter 355

It subtly suggested that competition was not dictated solely by financial influence. Alternatively, it hinted at Crescent's significant strength in participating in such a fair contest.
Lauren was shocked by this revelation. How had the Foster family suddenly entered the picture?
Raegan's true identity as a member of the Foster family remained a closely guarded secret, known only to a select few in Ardlens.
With an arrogant assumption, Lauren speculated that Raegan might have conspired with someone in the Foster family, further fueling her frustration.
«Cary, you must find a solution for me. "I absolutely need to secure this contract." When Lauren used the word “you must,” she meant it.
Failure was not an option.
Cary frowned and replied, "Then you'll have to come up with a plan, or it will be a difficult challenge to overcome..."
A plan? Lauren suddenly remembered Cary's coveted look at Raegan at dinner. Although he had not said anything, it had not gone unnoticed by those around him. This lothario!
With a flattering smile, Lauren suggested, "What if we orchestrated a scandal involving sexual bribery allegations with Crescent?"
Cary looked perplexed and asked, "What's on your mind?"
Lauren leaned in and whispered her plan in Cary's ear.
Cary's eyes narrowed in excitement, and he enthusiastically slapped his thigh, declaring, "Let's get on with it!"
Dinner lasted a long time.
Halfway through dinner, Raegan excused herself and went to the bathroom down the hall.
As Raegan walked out, she noticed a woman coming out of the family bathroom, but she disappeared a second later.
The woman looked somewhat familiar. Aside from that, there were some strange sounds emanating from the family bathroom.
Reagan frowned, and was about to open the bathroom door and check what was going on when someone spoke from behind her.
“Raegan.”
Raegan turned around and found Katie standing behind her.
Katie's gaze drifted to the family bathroom behind Raegan before narrowing her eyes. Katie then turned her attention to Raegan and said, "I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to say hi to you earlier."
Raegan was a little confused. He had already made it clear that he didn't know Katie, so he didn't understand why they had to greet each other.
Katie's lips curved upward into a warm smile. «Mitchel mentioned that you have amnesia and that's why you don't remember me. Let me reintroduce myself. "I'm Katie Glyn, and I've known Mitchel since we were kids."
Raegan raised an eyebrow and asked, "What does that have to do with me?"
Katie paused for a moment and then smiled softly. "I just wanted to say hello."
Katie's calm words had no effect on Raegan. Raegan's tone remained cold. «Why were you going to greet me? Aren't you friends with Mitchel?
I don't see how this concerns me. Is there any reason for you to talk to me? Were we close before?
Raegan's string of questions made Katie's face pale.
Katie was the esteemed daughter of the Glyn family and also the vice president of the Dixon Group. Both attributes combined made her an influential figure in Ardlens. Consequently, she was treated with respect and deference by everyone she encountered. It had been years since anyone had dared to challenge her like that.
Despite feeling her temper rising, Katie forced a smile and spoke calmly to Raegan. «It seems that you have not understood me, Raegan. "I was just passing by and when I saw you, I thought I should talk to you."
Raegan's attitude remained the same and she replied coldly, "I haven't misunderstood anything. "I really don't want to talk to you."
Raegan wasn't the type of person to unfairly mistreat anyone.
However, although Katie's words seemed polite on the surface, Raegan knew exactly what she was trying to imply.
A discerning ear would pick up the subtle tone of superiority in Katie's presentation. By saying that she had grown up with Mitchel, she was trying to tell Raegan that she was Mitchel's childhood sweetheart.
Raegan's expression soured. He never imagined there were so many potential love interests around Mitchel. Not only did he have Lauren, his crazy first love, but also his childhood sweetheart.
Indeed, Mitchel's outstanding appearance and excellence were attractive to women. But Raegan didn't understand how this had anything to do with her. They were already divorced, so she hoped those people would stop bothering her.
Looking at this little introduction, Raegan felt justified in her hostility.
Katie's lips trembled as she fought to form a smile. “Raegan, have I hurt your feelings? You think Mitchel and I…”
Katie didn't finish the sentence, leaving enough room for the imagination.
Raegan looked at her and said in a slow voice, “First of all, we don't know each other, so I hope you're not pretending to be my friend. In second place…"
Raegan smiled with satisfaction before continuing, "You have to understand that what you consider valuable may mean nothing to others." Don't be so sure that because you like crappy things, others will too.
Katie's face immediately lost color. She was amazed at how much Raegan had changed. Before, Raegan was a people pleaser and never stood up for herself when she was bullied.
Now that Raegan had finished saying what she had to say, she turned on her heel and was about to return to the chamber when she ran into Mitchel, who had just left the chamber.
Mitchel's face was dark and cold, his lips thin and tight. His disgusted expression made it clear that he had heard Raegan's words.
Raegan knew her words must hurt Mitchel's pride. However, he did not feel any sympathy towards him. The only thing he found annoying was the woman around him. He didn't give her a second glance and left.
Mitchel hesitated, his fist clenching and then relaxing, as if he wasn't sure whether he should grab it. Finally, he decided against it.
