Raegan couldn't let Janey call Mitchel that. Sometimes a small sacrifice was better than enduring prolonged grief. She consoled herself with the belief that Janey would eventually move on and forget Mitchel as time went by. That way, Mitchel's face would become a distant memory for Janey.

Late into the night, as the stars danced in the velvet sky, Raegan felt the weight of the day slowly lift. Pre-orders for his studio had been filled and the city outside his window embraced a serene stillness.

The clock struck twelve and Raegan finished her work.

Just then, he heard sobbing coming from Janey's room.

After a while, Janey fell asleep peacefully. However, as she slept, tears clung to her thick eyelashes as she murmured, "Dad..."

There was a touching mix of longing and unspoken expectation in his voice.

Raegan's expression froze for a moment. She gently touched Janey's soft hair and asked tenderly, "Do you really long for a daddy, my little pumpkin?"

Raegan was convinced that Kabir would support her decision if he were still around.

However, she would have to wait until her divorce from Mitchel was finalized.

There was a serious atmosphere in the bar.

Sitting at the bar, the three men became involved in a silent drunkenness.

After the first round, Luis began the second without pause.

Seeing Mitchel drinking one glass of alcohol after another, Luis felt confused. Finally he spoke, his voice tinged with surprise.

Mitchel felt disheartened after hearing Luis's words. Overwhelmed, he grabbed the glass and swallowed its contents without saying a word.

"Have you seen Raegan's son?" Luis asked, sensing something.

Mitchel nodded stoically.

Luis asked indifferently: "And who does the little one look like?"

Faced with Luis's question, Mitchel remained thoughtful. Janey had round eyes, long eyelashes, and an oval face, and she looked a lot like Raegan, especially when she smiled.

"I'd say she looks more like Raegan," Mitchel finally responded.

As for Kabir, Mitchel had done his research, he had even seen Kabir's photograph. Although he was reluctant to admit it, Kabir bore a slight resemblance to Raegan, leaving Mitchel undecided as to whether Janey looked more like Raegan or Kabir. However, in his opinion, Janey's appearance leaned more towards Raegan's.

Out of nowhere, Jarrod interjected: "Have you ever considered the possibility that the girl might be yours?"

If Raegan was able to miraculously survive after that incident with the car, then it was within the realm of possibility that Janey belonged to Mitchel.

At that, Mitchel felt a pang of irritation and took a sip of his wine. Naturally, he had had doubts and had carried out a thorough investigation into Janey's paternity.

After Erick mentioned Janey's biological father, Mitchel had already delved into the matter. He had seen Janey's birth certificate, scrutinized the hospital's medical records, and even reviewed video footage of the birth. All the evidence seemed crystal clear and irrefutable.

Judging by Mitchel's expression, Luis could deduce that he must have carried out an investigation. Leaning back on the sofa, he commented: “If you have already discovered the truth, why are you resisting divorce? What are your intentions regarding the little one?

After all, the Dixon family had yet to welcome any grandchildren. If Mitchel refused to divorce Raegan, there would undoubtedly be custody battles for Janey.

With the death of Mitchel's grandfather, Alexis had taken control of fifty percent of the Dixon Group's shares. Luis doubted that Alexis would accept Raegan's child, whether he was biologically Mitchel's or not.

Resting his arm on the armrest, Mitchel stated with unwavering resolve, "If Raegan doesn't object, I would like to formally adopt the child and welcome her into the Dixon family."
