Chapter 1665
Chapter 1665:
? ? ? ? ?
Still in shock, the woman was stunned, unable to process her near-death experience. The man's voice broke his stupor. “Come in now!”
The woman came back to reality and got into the SUV.
When the bodyguards regained control, the vehicle had already crossed the gate. They quickly informed their superiors and began a chase.
Three black sedans pursued them, forming a formidable three-on-one chase.
As her pursuers came closer, the woman's terror grew. Her voice trembled as she asked, "What do we do? What do we do? I can't let them catch me."
Turning to the man beside him, he placed his trust in him and asked, “What's the plan now?”
The man snapped impatiently, "You know you can't afford to get caught, and yet here you are, amidst all the stupid things that can be done!"
“How was I supposed to know these guards would be so sharp? The guards in other areas were always clueless, but these guys are practically elite bodyguards,” Jamie replied.
The man beside him scoffed. “Jamie, you really are the dumbest person I have ever met.”
Jamie stood there dumbfounded, speechless. Shock washed over her. How did he know her name? “Who are you?” she asked cautiously.
The man remained silent, his face partially hidden behind a handkerchief and his eyes radiating intense impatience.
When Jamie met his gaze, he realized he recognized her and gasped, “You… You're Mr. Bates, aren't you?”
The man did not answer, but his silence was confirmation enough.
Fear gripped Jamie as he realized the gravity of his situation. Who would have thought he would escape one danger only to stumble upon another worse one?
Trembling, I murmured, “Mr. Bates, I apologize. I didn't mean to come here. Let me go…”
In his panic, Jamie groped for the car door, trying to jump out even though they were on an elevated road.
Suddenly, the thought of the bodyguards she had run from seemed almost comforting compared to this man.
He was the most intimidating person she had ever encountered. She had already narrowly escaped death at his hands.
When Jamie reached for the door handle, she realized it was locked. Desperate, she clasped her hands together and begged, “I'm sorry… I'm so sorry, Mr. Bates. Please let me go. “I’m going to leave and never come back.”
Confined to the narrow space of the car seat, Jamie couldn't kneel, so she continued to wrap her hands, hoping for even a glimmer of mercy.
Meanwhile, the man, clearly skilled, dodged the pursuing cars while questioning Jamie. “Tell me, what brought you here so recklessly?”
Tears and snot mixed on his face, making Jamie look utterly miserable as he was sobbed. “I… I just wanted to see if I could… if I could kill that woman…”
The man raised an eyebrow, his interest piqued. “Do you want to kill Nicole? Why?”
At the mention of Nicole, Jamie's fear momentarily disappeared, replaced by a wave of jealousy and hatred.
«Because I despised her. Why does she always win Jarrod's love so easily? I love Jarrod more than she ever could.
