Chapter 1663:

? ? ? ? ?

Opening her eyes and finding her head on Jarrod's shoulder, Nicole quickly backed away, moving to the far corner of the seat.

“I'm sorry,” she murmured nervously.

“It's nothing,” Jarrod replied calmly and firmly.

Looking around, Nicole noticed that they had parked in front of her house, which made her nervous. “Why did you bring me here?” she asked, her voice tinged with confusion.

“You've been exhausted lately,” Jarrod explained. “Go home and get some rest.”

Nicole shook her head, expressing her concern: “I still feel anxious. “I need to make sure Austin is okay.”

"No need," Jarrod replied firmly.

He hesitated, worried that Nicole might think he was keeping her from her son, and clarified, “I'm supervising him. Don't worry. I brought my work to the hospital. You need to rest, understand?”

Nicole hadn't slept a full night since Austin's illness. Dark circles were visible under her eyes, but she kept trying.

Nicole hesitated, thinking Austin might miss her presence. Jarrod, sensing her apprehension, played some voicemails from his phone.

"Daddy, tell my mommy to go home and rest. If she doesn't, I'll call you uncle."

“Tell my mommy to prioritize rest, or the baby in her belly won't grow strong. I can't wait to meet my brother! Tell the baby that his big brother is healthy and strong.”

Austin's soft, playful voice echoed. Even in threatening Jarrod, he humorously showed the closeness in their relationship, and Austin's vitality was evident.

Nicole found some comfort, realizing that taking care of herself would comfort Austin as well. Rest was essential for both her and her children. She obediently exited the vehicle and headed home.

Following Jarrod's orders, they strategically placed four bodyguards: two at the entrance to the residential area and two by the staircase. Their surveillance was so thorough that not even an insect could go unnoticed.

As Jarrod left, a woman cautiously approached from a distance. Wearing a large bucket hat and a mask that hid most of her face, she aroused the suspicions of the security staff.

The guard approached and asked, "Ma'am, what residence do you belong to? What do you bring here?"

Startled, the woman hesitated before answering: "I've come to see someone."

“Just passing by?” The guard is skeptical.

Despite the area's modest size and lack of luxuries, they had recently hired a renowned security firm affiliated with the Schultz Group, which guaranteed higher levels of security.

When someone was suspicious, the guards did not let their guard down. "Ma'am, what building are you looking for?"

The woman, increasingly nervous, looked at the building numbers on the wall before blurting out, “Building 13.”

"And the unit?" the guard insisted.

“603,” the woman replied, choosing a number at random, assuming that her answer would cause the guard to let her go. To her surprise, the guard said, “Allow me to accompany you, ma’am.”

The woman waved her hands quickly, refusing: “No, no, I can handle it myself.”
