Chapter 1579:
? ? ? ? ?
Nicole finished her words and pulled Callie's arm to get her moving. After all, Nicole wasn't very strong to begin with, and Callie's legs felt like jelly as she trembled in fear. The situation could get worse if the driver had accomplices nearby.
“Can you walk?” Nicole whispered, noticing that Callie was still glued to her seat, unmoving.
Callie was already fragile, having never been in a situation like this before. She had barely left the house and now she was completely terrified. Struggling to get her words out, she said, “I… I… I don't know…” This was all new to her and she burst into tears.
Nicole realized she had to act, so she picked Callie up and put her on her back. As she did, Callie started sobbing harder and said, “My phone… My phone is under the driver’s seat…”
Nicole had to leave Callie on the ground and go to the driver's seat to look for her phone. But the driver, despite his sore eyes, tried to grab Nicole's hand to make things difficult for her.
Nicole immediately noticed this and pulled the driver out of the car and onto the ground. With a loud thud, the driver fell to the ground and started yelling obscenities. “Bitch, you almost killed me, bitch…”
Nicole paid no attention to her antics. She bent down, found Callie's phone, and walked away with it, making sure to record the driver's car keys as well. The driver lay on the ground, rubbing his eyes and cursing, “Bitch, wait! I’ll get you this.”
Nicole walked over and kicked him hard in the stomach twice. This made him howl in pain and kept him on the ground for a while. With a cold laugh, she said, “I've already called the police. Wait here and explain everything to them.”
Nicole then lifted Callie back onto her back and headed toward her own car. Nearby, police sirens began to blare. The driver, despite the pain, tried to flee but was unable to move. He cursed silently, realizing that Nicole's kicks were too brutal. He couldn't tell if he was seriously hurt. With no other choice, he just lay there, waiting for the police to arrive and take him away.
As soon as Callie settled into the car, she burst into loud sobs. Shaking all over, she begged, “Miss, please take me to my father…”
Callie's mind was unclear, and she hadn't seen Nicole in years. She didn't remember Nicole well, but she hadn't forgotten her completely. She assumed Nicole was just a brave bystander helping out.
Nicole calmly asked, “Where is your father?”
Callie gave her the location and Nicole pulled out her phone, claiming she needed navigation since she wasn't familiar with the area.
In reality, Nicole was texting Ethel. After sending the text, Nicole turned on the GPS and started driving towards the indicated address.
As they drove, Callie was still terrified and tried to turn on her phone to call her father, but it didn't work. It seemed to be broken. Panicking, she asked, "Miss, can I borrow your phone to make a call?"
Nicole handed her the phone and said, “Sure, go ahead.”
Callie dialed a number, but there was no answer on the first try. She quickly sent a text message, and the recipient responded immediately.
“Callie, what's wrong?” came Brett's worried voice.
“Dad, I met a bad person…” Callie said, her voice shaking.
“A bad person? What did he do to you? Where are you now?” Brett asked anxiously.
Callie reassured her, "I'm okay, I'm not hurt. A lady who was passing by saved me and is bringing me to you now."
