Chapter 1551:

? ? ? ? ?

When Alec gripped the knife, he moved with almost mechanical efficiency, raising it toward his neck.

Desperately trying to disarm Alec, Nicole lunged forward. But even with only one fully functional arm, Alec's strength was impressive, and his desperation overshadowed Nicole's efforts.

Her struggle left a deep cut on Nicole's hands, from which blood flowed profusely like a macabre waterfall.

Furious at his interrupted attempt, Alec's face twisted in anger. “Damn it! What the fuck are you doing?”

A single, urgent thought consumed Nicole. Alec must not die. Despite Alec's harshness, his unwavering devotion to Jarrod was undeniable.

For Nicole, this loyalty alone justified her right to live. Beyond that, Alec was a living person, and she could not passively watch as he came closer to ending his own life.

The noise attracted the guards. The sound of the knife falling to the ground echoed in the small space.

Nicole collapsed to the ground, her hands covered in blood.

Alec shouted, “Out… Everybody out.”

A deep cut on Alec's neck oozed crimson.

The guards, worried that Alec would try to harm himself again, pinned him down on the bed.

At that moment, Alec felt completely humiliated. In their prime, those guards wouldn't have stood a chance against him.

Now, they easily overpowered him. He felt completely useless.

The mobility challenge that came with the loss of his right arm threatened to overwhelm Alec's soul.

His once robust physique, which had been his pride, was no longer so. Even changing clothes was now a challenge.

Exasperated at suddenly being thrust into a world in which Jarrod seemed useless, he hated being in need of help from others.

Alec wasn't afraid of Jarrod leaving him behind. On the contrary, he trusted that Jarrod would take care of everything for him in the future, making sure he had everything he needed.

But Alec just couldn't stand the thought of being useless, no longer being able to participate in wrestling, boxing, or any physical activity he loved.

“Get out!” Alec screamed like a madman. “All of you, get out now!”

As soon as the guards released Alec, he threw a glass at them, which shattered on impact.

The guards, fearing that Alec would self-harm again, felt compelled to restrain him again.

Just when the situation seemed hopeless, a cold, authoritative voice cut through the tension. “Let him go!”

Jarrod walked in, taking in the chaos around him.

The bodyguards hesitated, but eventually released Alec.

“Sir, please don't bother me anymore,” Alec said to Jarrod, his previous madness subsiding, clarity returning to his eyes, though still clouded with despair.

"I really don't want to live anymore."

Back in the mountains, his mind clouded by the impact of the blow, Alec remembered only Jarrod's steadfast refusal to leave him behind.
