Chapter 1548:

As he pulled his arm back, blood gushed from the wound.
With little medication available to stop the bleeding, Jarrod used what little they had on Alec's stump.
Left with no other options, and with his own clothes in tatters, Jarrod quickly ripped off the bodyguard's jacket and wrapped it tightly around Alec's wound.
However, the makeshift bandage soon became saturated, and blood stained the ground beneath them a deep red.
Jarrod's expression turned grim and he looked up, searching for any sign of the helicopter. He moved for the other two men to seek higher ground to call for help.
They waited for what seemed like an eternity, but it was only a minute. Nicole, watching silently, felt her own torment. Although Jarrod remained silent, there was a cold, palpable tension radiating from him that affected everyone nearby.
The bodyguard finally returned, announcing the arrival of the helicopter with the sound of its engines racing through the air, giving Nicole a deep sense of relief. Alec could still be rescued.
The helicopter, unable to land due to the uneven terrain, released a rescue line with an inflatable mattress. The bodyguards meticulously placed Alec on the mattress, secured him and slowly hoisted him up.
As the helicopter had limited capacity, three bodyguards remained on the ground, preparing to wait for the next opportunity to leave.
Nicole initially thought she would stay with the three bodyguards. However, as Jarrod boarded the helicopter, he paused to look back, his tone curt. “What are you waiting for?”
Nicole, shocked, stood still.
“Get in,” Jarrod ordered, his voice harsh and authoritative.
Nicole hesitated, her mind filled with worries about leaving Roscoe behind. Although the fire had greatly reduced the threat of the parasites, she couldn't be sure that they had all been eliminated.
His confidence in his remaining bodyguards was shaken, especially since one of them had failed to restrain Roscoe.
But now was not the time to make assumptions. Nicole Jarrod knew all too well. Once he made up his mind, no amount of arguing could change his mind.
Jarrod, noticing her reluctance, added coldly, "If you do not wish this night to be a feast for the wild beasts, come aboard now."
With these words, Jarrod turned around and climbed the rope ladder to the helicopter.
Nicole felt the sting of his words and tension washed over her, turning her face pale. She recognized the growing divide between her and Jarrod, one that seemed unbridgeable.
At that point, Roscoe, noticing her hesitation, gently reassured her: “Nicole, I’ll be fine. Go with Mr. Schultz. “I’ll take the next one.”
Roscoe's concern was not for himself, but for leaving Nicole in such dangerous conditions. His priority was to ensure her safety by leaving the area as soon as possible.
Nicole realized that her insistence on staying could escalate the situation and put Roscoe in further danger.
With the confusion surrounding her father's case and the Watts family, she knew now was not the time to provoke Jarrod.
Turning to the three bodyguards, Nicole didn't immediately meet Roscoe's gaze, but instead issued a firm directive.
"Make sure Mr. Watts is well looked after. If anything happens to him, you will be held personally accountable." His voice was stern, filled with authority.
