“Boss, the Watts family tasked me with bringing you here for recovery. They demand your safety until the end of next month. However, the parasites are rapidly affecting you, so I acted on my own to bring you here for treatment. “I accept any punishment.”

The chief was silent for a moment, then sighed. “It doesn't matter. You acted for the benefit of the valley. Since we have taken on this responsibility, make sure it is completed. Let it stay.”

“Thank you for your mercy,” said the red-robed witch, bowing deeply.

When the boss left, the red-robed witch walked up to Nicole, grabbed her chin, shoved a pill into her mouth, and pressed down on her stomach to make her swallow it.

Nicole felt the pill go down her throat, spreading a gentle warmth in her stomach.

Despite the slight relief, Nicole kept her eyes tightly closed and continued to feign unconsciousness, worried that the witch would detect any sign that she was conscious.

Luckily, after giving her the pill, the red-clad witch left without further delay.

With quick reflexes, Nicole backed away to her initial position. To her relief, the snake relaxed, lowered its head and abandoned its aggressive posture.

It soon became clear that this extraordinary snake was more than just an animal. It acted as a guardian for its invisible master.

This realization explained why the red-robed witch had left Nicole alone, knowing that her sentinel was watching.

Lying still, Nicole focused on conserving her energy as her mind raced to come up with a plan.

The mysterious pill that the witch had given Nicole had surprisingly invigorated her, especially in her abdomen. Nicole, who had undergone major surgery on her stomach, was usually sensitive to any sensation of cold or heat. However, this pill emanated a comforting warmth that soothed her internally.
