Chapter 1506:

? ? ? ? ?

Nicole was adamant. “Finish your porridge and your medicinal food.”

Austin bowed his head, eating silently. Jarrod put the soy milk in front of him.

Nicole then asked him: "Why don't you drink it?"

Jarrod remained silent, his eyes moving between the soy milk and her. Confused by his gaze, Nicole took the soy milk with the intention of drinking it herself.

With a swift movement, Jarrod snatched it from his hands. “I'll drink it myself,” she declared. Jarrod drank the soy milk quickly. As he was about to refill his bowl, Nicole intervened.

Nicole sets Jarrod's bowl down on the table. “Too much soy milk isn’t good for you.”

Jarrod’s change of expression left Nicole puzzled as to what he meant. She pointed at the sandwiches. “Try some of these.”

“Okay.” Jarrod obediently picked up a sandwich and bit into it, savoring the taste.

After finishing his meal and the medicinal food, Austin stood up to leave. With little appetite, Nicole stood up as well. “I'm done,” she announced. This left Jarrod alone at the table.

When the housekeeper came later to clear the dishes, she noticed that most of the food had disappeared. Jarrod usually had a disciplined breakfast, just coffee, a slice of bread and half a steak.

She had eaten a lot more today. The housekeeper attributed the change to Nicole's culinary skills. She cleared the table with a smile.

Jarrod went upstairs and found Nicole teaching Austin to read. After watching her for a moment, he left.

As soon as Jarrod got into his car, Alec, who was waiting inside, leaned over to him. “Sir, you didn’t eat anything that woman gave you, did you?”

Alec's tone was filled with concern and trepidation, fearing that Jarrod had fallen for Nicole's charms.

Jarrod remained silent, darkening Alec's expression. "You ate it?" he asked in disbelief.

“Mind your own business,” Jarrod replied coldly.

Exasperated, Alec said, "If you're so determined to risk your life, let me know. It doesn't matter if I die now if you're going to do it."

Jarrod gave him a cold look. “What nonsense are you talking about?”

“Is that nonsense?” Alec challenged. “You know he's poisoning you, but you keep eating his food. If that’s not risking your life, what is?”

“There's no evidence that he's poisoning me,” Jarrod interrupted abruptly.

Alec, still furious, insisted: “There is no proof? I heard it myself! “That woman had agreed to poison you.”

“Watch your language!” Jarrod snapped. “She's my wife. Stop making unfounded accusations.”
