Chapter 1501:

Jamie's eyes flashed with contemplation. I have considered Nicole despicable, despite Jarrod's unwavering loyalty to her. “She has no color and no taste. “She won't notice,” Jamie assured him.
Nicole squeezed the package tightly and calmly replied, “I agree.”
Nicole left the hospital with some time left before sunset. She decided to visit her mother and Kamilah. Kamilah had improved noticeably and was now able to blink and answer simple questions.
Although Kamilah was still unable to speak, her recovery looked promising, thanks to Jarrod's efforts. He had assembled a team of top national and international experts to diagnose and treat Kamilah.
Assembling such talent was not only expensive. It required considerable clout. Some of these experts, now retired, cared little for money, so their involvement was a testament to Jarrod's extensive connections. Nicole was aware of Jarrod's significant developments, as Alec had occasionally dropped hints about Jarrod's extensive efforts.
Even Nicole's mother, who had been declared brain dead, had miraculously regained some semblance of life, although she no longer recognized Nicole. Still, just knowing that her mother was alive was a great comfort to Nicole.
Reflecting on her past despair, when she tried to end her life by throwing herself into the sea, Nicole recognized how much her life had changed.
At that moment she felt completely alone, with no family or ties except the child she was carrying. She had been determined not to let her son fall under Jarrod's control.
Now, her circumstances had changed dramatically. She had several people who depended on her: her mother, Austin, Kamilah, and Roscoe. Each of them gave her a reason to keep fighting. Unlike her friend Raegan, who would still rely on Mitchel to care for her if she were gone, these people only depended on her.
This awareness prompted Nicole to be more careful with her decisions. It was a challenge, but in some ways it felt like a lucky burden. Her loved ones were safe, and that was the most important thing.
When Nicole returned to the villa late in the afternoon, the housekeeper was there to welcome her. “Madam, you are back. We have soup and dishes ready. What would you prefer?”
“No, thank you,” Nicole replied, shaking her head. “I’ve already eaten.”
Seeing that Nicole was not interested in the food, the housekeeper wished her good night and left.
Nicole, exhausted, went upstairs without bothering to turn on the lights. The moonlight was enough for her to go to her closet, choose some clothes and change in the bathroom.
After taking a shower, Nicole finally turned on the bedside lamp and, to her surprise, Jarrod was sitting on the couch. “When did you get home?” she asked, started.
