Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook -
Chapter 1441
Chapter 1441:
? ? ? ? ?
A woman of Vicki's nature would never have contemplated her behavior. She was the only one responsible for having seduced Jarrod.
Clinging to Jarrod’s legs, Vicki pleaded, “Jarrod, it’s my fault! It's all my fault. I promise not to bother Nicole again. Can't you see I was just jealous? I was jealous that she had a place in your heart and that you harbored unique feelings for her. I admit my mistake. “I can accept Nicole’s presence from now on, if you don’t leave me.”
Nicole was stunned by Vicki's statements. It seemed that if Jarrod forgave Vicki, Vicki was willing to accept a polygamous marriage.
But Nicole found the prospect completely unappealing. Just thinking about it made her stomach turn. How could a rich woman like Vicki conceive of such an arrangement? Couldn't she live without Jarrod?
Nicole had no intention of tying herself to Jarrod indefinitely. The thought barely crossed her mind, afraid that she would never make it in perpetuity.
Jarrod's displeasure was evident when he lifted his foot, leaving Vicki to support herself with her hands, visibly nervous. "I am a married man now, Miss Hampton. I implore you to watch your words from now on." His eyebrows and gaze remained as frigid as ever.
However, Vicki noticed a flash of warmth in his eyes when he said the word “married.” It was different from Jarrod's usual behavior when they had interacted previously.
In Vicki's presence, Jarrod always appeared distant and poker-faced. But at this moment, he seemed to glow with energy. The description fits him perfectly. It seemed like he had worn a façade for years, only now revealing his genuine self. His happiness, fueled by his marriage, was evident.
This realization struck fear into Vicki's heart. She had never imagined that Jarrod possessed such an alternative personality.
Nicole lacked the stamina to bear witness to Vicki's tumultuous emotions. In her perception, Jarrod's behavior toward Vicki faded. Could he harbor intentions to safeguard Vicki, Austin's would-be attacker?
Nicole Jarrod's motives, as he had assured her that he would not interfere. She picked up her phone and dialed the authorities. “Hello, this is the Schultz Residence. I would like to report a crime. Someone has conspired to poison my son. Yes, please hurry up…”
After the call, Nicole paid no attention to the commotion outside. Her priority was to assess Kamilah's condition inside. She hurt inside.
Jarrod's displeasure was evident as he watched Nicole leave and her indifference towards him. Unconsciously, he frowned. She didn't seem to mind his presence alone with another woman. Her indifference said it all.
With a gesture, Jarrod prepared to leave.
Vicki was caught off guard by how quickly Nicole contacted the police. The Hampton family's reputation had already been damaged by the Lowe incident. If she was involved in another scandal, the Hamptons' reputation would suffer irreparable damage, much to her father's dismay.
