Love Unbreakable by Bank Brook -
Chapter 137

Mitchel's gaze deepened as he warned, Be careful with your words.
Avoid saying things you shouldn't."
Nicole seemed to sense something.
"Mr. Dixon, do you think Raegan will ever forgive you?" he asked.
Watching Mitchel's reaction confirmed Nicole's suspicion.
Apparently the descriptions of the heroes in the romance novels she had read were spot on. Mitchel was a rich and handsome man, brimming with confidence in his love life.
Why pass up the opportunity to avenge Raegan? Nicole wouldn't pass up such a golden opportunity.
«Don't worry, Mr. Dixon. My lips are sealed, but..." Nicole hesitated, then added, "Raegan's determination might be stronger than you anticipate once she's made up her mind."
Mitchel clenched his fists. He stayed for a moment before returning to Lauren's living room.
Seeing him, Lauren anxiously asked, "Mitchel, did you get the recorder back?"
She had assumed that Mitchel was after Nicole to help her recover the voice recorder.
In her opinion, despite everything, Mitchel continued to show concern for her.
After all, he hadn't punished her for tampering with Raegan's pregnancy test earlier, had he?
And now, mistreated by Raegan, Lauren was convinced that Mitchel wouldn't blame her.
However, her plans to be Mitchel's wife had to be delayed.
It was all Nicole's fault, the woman who had set him up.
Once married into the Dixon family, Lauren vowed to ruin the Lawrence family and humiliate Nicole.
Lost in her vengeful thoughts, Lauren didn't even notice that Mitchel was already at her side and looking at her.
“Lauren,” he called softly.
Lifting her eyes, Lauren saw Mitchel bathed in the glow of bright light, strikingly handsome.
Her heart raced, as always, when she saw him.
His eyes filled with affection and he asked softly, "What's wrong, Mitchel?"
Mitchel's voice was icy as he declared, "You won't have to travel to Swynborough for the operation."
Lauren's joy was overwhelming, as if a diamond had fallen from the sky and hit her.
He asked with a radiant smile: “Really? You wouldn't fool me, would you?
"I've never lied to you," Mitchel replied.
This sudden rush of happiness rekindled her dream of marrying Mitchel once again.
When he reached out to hug Mitchel, he stepped back unexpectedly.
Bang! In her attempt, Lauren failed to hold on to Mitchel and, carried away by momentum, fell from the wheelchair to the floor.
"Oh!" He cried out in pain, with tears in his eyes.
Lying there, Lauren looked up with tear-filled eyes and whimpered childishly, "Mitchel, it hurts so much..."
"Can't you get up?" Mitchel asked, his voice cold.
His magnetic tone momentarily distracted Lauren.
She almost knelt before him, captivated by the tantalizing presence of his suit-clad legs. Feeling a surge of heat, her voice became more pleading and seductive.
«It hurts... Lift me up.
Anticipating a romantic turn, Lauren hoped Mitchel would take her to bed. Instead, his response was blunt.
“Then stay down.”
Lauren stared at him, shocked and incredulous.
"What did you say, Mitchel?" he asked.
With a cold smile, Mitchel declared, “Lauren, I have given you many opportunities.”
Stunned, Lauren felt a sense of dread wash over her.
Desperate, she clung to his leg, tears in her eyes.
“Mitchel…” he pleaded.
But it was too late.
Her hand barely touched the hem of his pants when she saw him lift her polished leather shoes and lower them mercilessly.
The hard soles crushed her hand, and Lauren felt as if her fingers were being destroyed. Intense pain blanched her face as she screamed in terror.
«Mitchel... What is happening? “I… I'm Lauren…” she shouted.
But Mitchel's sympathy for Lauren had evaporated, his protection of her squandered.
Crack! The cruel crunch of his fingers under his feet echoed ominously, a sound as chilling as the proximity of death itself.
Mitchel's expression was icy, his eyes shining with a malice reminiscent of the devil. He stated, "I've made it clear that Raegan is my bottom line, and yet you persist in crossing it."
Lauren's agony unleashed a torrent of tears. Desperate, she screamed: "It's not what you think... Don't listen to Nicole... I didn't do it..."
His words trembled, lacking conviction.
Mitchel crouched before her and forced her to face him.
His tone was icy as he asked, "Do you think I would trust Nicole?"
This question sparked a glimmer of hope in Lauren. Tears the size of beans ran down her cheeks as she begged distressedly, “Mitchel, if you don't believe her, why are you doing this to me? I have never said those things. It's your son. How could I call him a bastard?
Suddenly, Lauren froze in place.
Mitchel had clicked on a video and played it in front of her.
“You and that little bastard… He better be gone…”
His harsh speech and brutal expression were captured clearly.
Mitchel had installed a camera to protect Raegan, which only he could access. After Nicole left, he activated the surveillance footage, but was unable to see more than a brief segment.
It was Lauren, whom I had always considered a kind and naive girl. He had been treating her well for years. How could she be so ruthless?
Lauren was terrified, she felt like she had been plunged into an icy dungeon, her body shaking uncontrollably.
"Lauren." Mitchel articulated each word with a chilling tone: Do you think you're smart enough to fool me?
«No, it's not true... It's all false...
» Lauren stammered, her complexion paler than a sheet of paper.
He raised his eyes to Mitchel's flawless face. He seemed unfazed, but to Lauren it seemed strange and frightening.
"Fake?" His lips curved into a semblance of a smile, but his grip on her jaw was unyielding.
"Are you claiming that your illness is fake, or maybe this whole kidnapping is fake?"
