Love Enveloped In Lies -
Episode 335
Lucas had been in a coma for a week, but still hadn’t woken up.
Michelle walked in with the steamed stuffed bun she had just purchased. He hadn’t eaten it in a long time. Especially the pickled cabbage, which reminded him of his mother.
However, as soon as she entered the room, she found Lucas staring at her, which really scared her.
“You’re awake?”
Michelle walked over and placed the plastic bag on the bedside table. He looked at the man lying on the bed and said in surprise.
Crouching next to the bed, Michelle looked at Lucas, who was slowly regaining his vitality, and it felt real.
He woke up, he really woke up.
Lucas was still weak. He wanted to say something, but he started coughing.
Seeing this, Michelle quickly poured her a glass of water, but she still had an oxygen tube in her nose.
“Wait for me. I’m calling the doctor.” He told Lucas and ran out of the room.
Lucas’ confidant stood on the edge of the bed and looked at his pale boss, feeling very uncomfortable.
The doctor didn’t leave until he made sure everything was okay. Before leaving, he especially told Michelle that recently Lucas had to pay special attention to his diet.
Michelle nodded.
In fact, she was very careful in caring for the patient.
After they left, Lucas’ confidant was still standing by the bed, seemingly reluctant to leave.
“I’m fine. You can leave now. Michelle, stay here.”
Everyone knew that Michelle was the one who cared about Lucas the most. After everyone left, there were only two people left in the room.
Michelle felt a little embarrassed at this point. He didn’t know what to say to a person who had just recovered from a serious illness.
Lucas tried to get up. Seeing this, Michelle quickly ran to him and helped him up.
She put the pillow behind him so he could sit more comfortably.
“Want to drink some water?
Then he got up and went back to pour water. When he returned, he handed Lucas the glass.
Lucas didn’t take it, and Michelle took it upon herself to feed him given the wound on his chest.
Lucas looked at her fondly, which made Michelle even more embarrassed.
Suddenly he grabbed her hand, and Michelle was also stunned. She looked at him and apparently didn’t know what he was going to do.
“Have you taken care of me these days?
Although he didn’t know how long he had been in a coma, he could guess that she was with him these days. Was this a good start?
“What do you want to eat? I’ll buy it for you.”
When she woke up, Michelle found that she didn’t want to stay here because it would be uncomfortable.
She couldn’t stand the way Lucas was looking at her, so she wanted to run away.
Lucas also noticed his behavior and began to hold back.
“Sorry, I was crazy.” He said sheepishly.
Instead of answering him, Michelle walked out with her bag. All these things were brought by Lucas’ confidant from home, but all the clothes he wore were freshly bought after moving to this city.
This kind of life was truly luxurious.
When he came back, there was a packaging box in Michelle’s hand. He walked over to the bed, sat down and opened the box.
She bought porridge and pumpkin porridge.
Although she didn’t know whether he liked it or not, the doctor said that now he can only eat these liquid foods.
The wounds on his body had not yet healed. He couldn’t move now, or the wounds on his body would crack.
Michelle gave him some porridge and Lucas was willing to cooperate. It hadn’t caused him any problems during this time. However, he continued to look at her with indescribable emotions in his eyes.
Unconsciously, Michelle moved away or deliberately chose to ignore him, but it was useless.
After the porridge, the steamed buns were cold. Luckily there was a microwave in the room to heat them up.
“Did you just eat that?”
Lucas asked curiously when he saw her walking towards the microwave with those buns.
No wonder she lost weight. He must have been eating poorly recently.
“No it’s not like that. I usually eat the food that your subordinate buys. I bought it when I went out today. The guy who sells steamed buns are compatriots. I think that it must taste good.”
In fact, he found doing business in this city very good. There were many people who liked to eat from the roadside stalls. When I went to buy steamed buns, I always waited in line.
More importantly, there were no restrictions from the municipal administration in this city, so they could set up stalls wherever they wanted.
Thinking about it, Michelle suddenly fell in love with this city. She had wanted to make something herself and sell it.
Michelle took a big bite of the steamed bun as if she was hungry.
Lucas called his subordinate and said: “Go out and buy something.”
“OK boss.”
The man in black looked at Michelle and saw her eating. He understood something and turned to leave.
“No thanks. I’ll just eat this. It doesn’t matter.”
In fact, that meant he didn’t need them to pay for the money he had.
He kept chewing the stuffed bun, and his words were a little vague. However, the man in black couldn’t hear what she said.
Lucas was amused by her reaction.
But now there was nothing he could do or the wound would rupture.
Soon, the door to the living room opened and the man in black walked in with two large bags of delicious food. The room was filled with the smell of meat. Without a doubt, he bought roast goose.
These days, Michelle really wanted to vomit when she ate roast goose.
“I bought roast goose, roast duck, rib soup, sweet and sour pork ribs…”
The man in black reported the menu honestly. His honest appearance made Michelle want to laugh.
Hearing her favorite sweet and sour pork ribs, Michelle felt refreshed.
He rushed over, took the plastic bag from the man in black, put it on the tea table, and opened it one by one.
It looked like he went to a Chinese restaurant, otherwise he wouldn’t have bought sweet and sour ribs. No one abroad liked this flavor.
“Thank you.”
Looking at the sweet and sour ribs, Michelle thought they were enough. But he had already eaten two steamed buns, and now he was not very hungry. He figured he wouldn’t eat much.
“There is a microwave in the living room. You can eat slowly. “
Lucas knew he didn’t like waste, so he mostly told him.
It was a good idea, and Michelle agreed.
It was a deluxe room and a single room. Generally speaking, it was the same as a regular apartment. There was a refrigerator, furniture, separate bathroom, etc. in the room.
It was the life of the rich. She wasn’t used to it.
You may never be able to return to C City. But would she really stay with Lucas for the rest of her life?
After staying in the hospital for two weeks, Lucas underwent discharge procedures.
The doctor said his wound was healing. As long as I didn’t touch the cold water in the future, everything would be fine. As for taking a shower, of course she couldn’t. He could only ask the servants to help him.
Michelle knew he wanted her to help him, but she would be shy.
One day, when he turned on the television, he discovered that almost all the programs in that country were in the local language. But she wanted to watch TV series, South Korean dramas.
He had no choice but to turn off the television and use the computer.
The Internet was popular throughout the country. She wanted to watch the television she loved.
This computer was purchased by someone sent by Lucas today. It was MacBook. I have never used this brand before. Now when he held it in his hand, he found that it was just a computer.
Sometimes life didn’t really need to be so luxurious.
However, the brand was like a person’s clothes, a status symbol.
You are wearing a dress bought from a roadside stall. Compared with the clothes of a famous foreign brand, what people see is just the latest.
Even though there was another person next to you, their eyes looked away from you.
Sometimes temperament wasn’t the most important thing.
There was an agreement between Scott and Jared that no one was allowed to reveal Michelle’s true identity. But Jared would always treat her like his own daughter, because she was Howard’s daughter.
It was quiet in City C at the moment. The Jiang Group was still in the old place and it had just been renovated. Scott’s office interacted with the secretary and the assistants’ room.
Recently, he had hired a new secretary. Without a doubt, it seemed normal.
He graduated from a famous university in B City. Everyone wants such talent.
“Mr. Scott, the report is complete.”
At this time, someone knocked on the door, followed by the secretary’s voice.
Scott stopped the pen in his hand in amazement, then said coldly: “Come in.”
The secretary wore an old-fashioned suit, which should have been purchased by her during her internship. However, her movements and the way she dressed reminded him of Michelle.
He still remembered that she was the same then.
But by comparison, Michelle could wear light makeup and wear a pair of two-inch heels, which made her look taller.
Seeing this, Scott was lost in thought again.
“President?” The secretary stepped aside and felt a little embarrassed when she saw him looking at her absently. She called out to him, hoping he might come to her mind.
“Oh, put it here.” Scott looked at her politely and said.
“Good.”
The secretary pushed her glasses back and left with a smile.
That was the difference between novels and reality, right?
In the novel, everyone’s destiny was controlled by the writer, who determined their life.
