Love Enveloped In Lies -
Episode 3
For the first time in his life, Scott saw a woman who looked so depressed in the garbage and cried in front of him. Unsure of what to do, he slowly approached her and reached out, trying to help her up.
To his surprise, Michelle suddenly rose from the ground and ran as fast as she could without looking back. Scott’s hand remained suspended in the air even long after she’d left before he finally pulled back. With his gaze fixed in the direction she was running, he could do nothing but walk back to the hotel after a while.
With her body so tired, Michelle didn’t know how she’d managed to get home. The last thing he remembered was buying a bottle of wine and drinking it on the go.
Best friend and boyfriend?
This scene usually only happened on TV shows, but met the same fate. It left her looking so ridiculous and completely disgusted with herself. They had been together for three long years, but it turned out that their relationship was very fragile, she broke it off so easily because of someone who got in the way of their love.
Now that he was married, what else could he mean to her? Was she now someone he knew?
There was a time when she believed they would share the rest of their lives. However, the love they shared couldn’t last that long.
As she remembered the days when a pair of thick, warm hands ran their fingers through her hair, she let herself break down and weep as she wrapped herself in his thoughts. Things were too different now because he could no longer feel that warm comfort.
He collapsed beside the door, his arms around her knees. By now, sadness and longing were written all over his face.
There was a dim light in the hallway. And given how drunk she was, it made her face pale.
The door sitting next to her suddenly opened. Olivia Wang, wearing an apron, left the garbage bag she was holding outside. As he was about to close the door, he noticed a figure huddled on the floor.
In an instant, his eyes widened and he ran to Michelle and blurted out, “Michelle, what’s wrong? What happened to you?”
She grabbed Michelle’s shoulders, only to discover that she no longer had the strength to stand and was extremely frail. It seemed that the slightest push would cause her to fall easily to the floor.
The stench of alcohol reached her nose, mixed with a faint perfume.
Olivia Wang couldn’t help but frown as she helped the drunk woman into the house.
Although she was now lying on the soft, comfortable little bed, Michelle’s posture remained the same as when she’d been sitting by the door. As a bitter smile appeared on his face, he said, “They told me that whenever I felt bad, everything would be fine as long as I eliminated my problems.” But why? Why does it always hurt so much? Wyn, you big liar!
She laughed at her own misery, but Olivia Wang, who had just entered with a basin, simply listened silently. When he gave Michelle a pitiful look, he shook his head helplessly and sighed, “My silly little girl, why are you doing this to yourself?”
After leaving the sink on the chair right next to the bed, Olivia began patiently wiping Michelle’s tear-stained face, as well as her neck and arms with a damp towel.
When she was about to leave, she touched the tousled hair on Michelle’s forehead, with such tenderness in her eyes.
After wiping her face with the warm towel, Michelle began to feel much better and was able to sleep well through the night. When he woke up the next day, it was almost noon.
When he lifted the blanket and was about to get up, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his head. When Olivia heard the sound coming from the bedroom, she hurriedly opened the door to see how she was doing. In a very worried tone, she immediately asked, “Michelle, are you okay?”
It wasn’t until Michelle looked around that she finally realized she was in her room. Then again, he couldn’t remember how he’d gotten home last night.
“Mom, how did I get back?”
She gripped Olivia’s hand tightly as she wore a surprised look on her face.
