Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 403: Who's Your Wife?
Eloise opened Weibo because she had nothing else to do.
The news that Robbie was getting married to Mercia Brower, the Brower family, was already trending, and the comments were full of well-wishes. Eloise had to scroll through the comments to find one bad one, but the bottom ones were all spammed and no likes went up.
It seemed that Robbie had gone to a lot of trouble for the wedding, even hiring a Twitter army to protect his image and character in front of his fiancée.
At this moment, Hector came over and saw her swiping through Twitter and couldn't help but say, "What are you looking at, is it the news of Robbie's wedding?"
Eloise wasn't going to hide it from him, and since she had nothing in her heart to begin with and was open and honest, there was even less need to hide it, so she nodded, "It looks like Robbie should have hired quite a few more watermen." This was nothing unusual, and Hector didn't take it to heart, instead he said, "I guess your sister is the one who's most upset right now."
Eloise said, "Come on, don't say that, she's given away the family fortune and now there's not much left in my father's hands in the whole Thompson Group."
Although there was little affection left for that father, the Thompson Group estate in the hands of that scumbag Robbie was not worth it in any way, so Eloise was a little gutted to say the least.
After all, it was Agnes' own doing, plus she didn't have that much affection for the Thompson Group, and when she thought of her mother, who was still lying in a hospital bed, she even felt they were a bit to blame.
Eloise collected herself and then said softly, "Never mind, don't want to bring it up, what is it that you are up to?"
Hector wrapped his arms around her from behind and rested his chin on her head before saying, "I also wanted to come over and tell you about this, the Brower family and the Rogers family have had business dealings before and received this wedding invitation."
In fact, those of them in the upper class circles have more or less business dealings, and as long as one of these families has a wedding in their family, they can basically see all the top people there.
It was always a small world and Eloise wasn't surprised.
"So, are you going?" Eloise looked up, at him.
Only to see Rupert nod and then say, "Actually, I wasn't supposed to be there, it was supposed to be Rupert who attended, but he's in the hospital right now, and in that state you know, he definitely can't go."
"Since the invitations have been sent out, let's go, there might be some business dealings in the future, we'll always see each other." Eloise said as she squeezed his fingers and played with them.
Rupert wrapped his arms tighter around her and then whispered in her ear, "So, will you go with me, wife?"
His words tickled Eloise's heart and she looked at him a little scornfully, "Who is your wife now."
Hector was amused and simply gave her a kiss on the cheek before saying, "You've proposed, you've taken the ring and now you want to renege? That's not going to happen, you can't get away with being my Hector's wife." He said "wife" and Eloise was embarrassed, her face immediately flushed, making her look like a budding woman.
Hector tried to suppress his strange thoughts, then coughed lightly, "You haven't answered my question, do you want to accompany me?"
After saying that he thought about it again, before continuing, "If you don't want to go, I'll just show my face over there and come back and keep you company, it's not a big deal, so if you don't want to go, don't go." After all, Robbie was too awkward, being Eloise's ex-fiancé and Agnes' ex-boyfriend, and having annexed the Thompson Group's assets, so it was impossible to get involved with the Thompson family.
There is nothing wrong with Hector asking, because after all, he would be disrespectful to Eloise if he were to force her to attend because of her special status.
If he didn't ask, and simply went on his own, he would look like a bit of a thief, and the rumours would spread even more.
Eloise is not really interested in this wedding, she knows how ugly Robbie is.
The thought of him appearing in front of everyone as a proper gentleman made her feel sick.
But if ... didn't go, Hector would be thinking about it all over again, and it would be a real shame to jump into the river with all those lingering thoughts.
What's more, the media will be all over Hector, and if they bring up some of the old stories, it will be Hector's fiancée who is afraid to confront Robbie about his lingering feelings. These days, the media will do anything for money, and the thought of it makes Eloise shiver.
As if sensing Eloise's discomfort, Hector said, "What's wrong? Is it too cold?"
She couldn't say that she was frightened by her own thoughts, so Eloise had to nod a little embarrassed.
Without a word, Hector let go of her, took his coat off and wrapped it around her, then went to pour another cup of hot water.
He blew on it and touched it with his own mouth to make sure it wasn't too hot before handing it to Eloise, "Drink it while it's hot, it'll give you some relief."
Seeing him taking such good care of her, Eloise felt that even if she didn't drink the hot water, she would still feel good about Agnes.
As she sipped her water, she said, "When I think of it being Robbie's wedding, I actually kind of don't want to go, not for any other reason than the fact that he's such a despicable person. But ... I rarely attend major occasions with you, and I thought that if I went this time, it would be like showing up with your hand in the open.
So... this time I still want to go."
She also suddenly thought of a problem after saying that, counting up, this time she was even taking the current one, to attend her ex's wedding, which sounded like there was still a bit of magic. Although Hector still looked like he wasn't smiling, it was obvious to Eloise that he was in a much better mood than he had been, and the air around him seemed softer.
Eloise was dumbfounded, a man's heart is indeed a needle under the sea, he had said that it didn't matter if he didn't go, but now that he looked at his face, it didn't seem to be the case. Hector's jealousy seemed to be to his liking.
While Eloise was still thinking, Hector's kisses had already fallen, his kisses were dominant with a hint of tenderness, yet he was afraid of damaging his baby.
There seemed to be nothing but each other left in heaven and earth.
