Love Comes To Me
Chapter 283: Seething

Hector Rogers and the police arrived just in time to see Eloise Thompson fall forward with a gunshot wound.

At the sight of the man who was Eloise Thompson, the pupils of Hector Rogers' eyes steepled and he exclaimed, "Eloise!" Then ran up.

When the kidnappers saw the police approaching, they couldn't care less about the children or Eloise Thompson and ran. "Stop!" The policeman gave chase.

"Eloise!"

Hector Rogers held the person in time to save her and Solomon from falling to the ground.

"Hector ..."

Shot twice in quick succession, Eloise Thompson's face was as white as paper in pain and her forehead was covered in a dense, fine sweat.

She hurriedly pushed Solomon into his arms, her lips curving up, "Hector, I got Solomon out of there."

"Fool!"

Even Hector Rogers, a hardened man with a hard heart, could not help but feel a lump in his throat at the sight of her strength as she bore the pain. Solomon cried out when he saw the blood on her shoulder, "I don't want Mummy to die."

At that, Eloise Thompson raised her hand and gently wiped away his tears with her fingertips and forced a reassuring smile as she said, "Solomon don't cry, mummy's fine ... Well ... " The motion of raising her hand tugged at the wound on her shoulder, and she lowered her head in pain, her teeth clenching her lower lip. Ouch!

Seeing this, Hector Rogers rushed to pick her up.

Rupert Rogers rushed over and stared in amazement when he saw Eloise Thompson in his arms.

How did the person they had worked so hard to find turn up here?

"Rupert, take care of Solomon. i'll take Eloise to the hospital."

Hector Rogers handed Solomon to his brother and took Eloise Thompson in his arms as he strutted off.

"Solomon, what's your mommy doing here?"

Rupert Rogers, who had returned to his senses, looked down at Solomon.

Solomon wiped the tears from his eyes and said, "Mummy is here to save me."

Rupert Rogers raised an eyebrow, did his sister-in-law know about Solomon's kidnapping and had come back to rescue him on purpose?

If that's the case, it's enough to see how much she values Solomon.

With that in mind, he knelt down, locked eyes with Solomon and asked, "Do you want to go to the hospital to see Mummy?" Solomon nodded, "Yes!"

"Well then, let's go to the hospital too."

Rupert Rogers took him by the hand and walked in the direction Hector Rogers and the others had left.

...

The Rogers family, Hector's parents, were relieved to learn that Solomon had been successfully released.

"Thanks be to God for blessing! Thanks be to God for blessing!"

Hector's mother mumbled with folded hands.

Hector's father heard this and raised his eyebrows, "I owe it to Eloise Thompson to get Solomon out of there." Hector's mother dropped her hand and launched into a thoughtful daze.

"What are you thinking about?"

When she didn't squeak, Hector's father nudged her gently.

"Didn't think anything of it." Hector's mother gave him a no-nonsense glare before continuing, "Don't think I'll accept her just because she does, no way." Hector's father couldn't help but find it funny, "Why are you so stubborn?"

"I'm not being stubborn, I'm being principled!"

"You!"

Hector's father was at a loss for words and could only sigh and shake his head, "I hope you've stuck to your principles and don't regret it."

"No, old man, why does that not sound right to you?" Hector's mother furrowed her brow, "You're not backing down, are you?"

"Whether it's down or not I don't know, all I know is that someone, Eloise Thompson, is injured trying to save Solomon and is in hospital."

Hector's mother blushed a little at that comment and mumbled sarcastically, "It's not like anyone asked her to save them."

"Hey." Hector's father sighed heavily and said with great emotion, "That girl is actually a good girl, except for her complicated family background, and the past is behind her."

In fact, Hector's mother knew that Eloise Thompson wasn't that bad, but the fact that she had given birth to a child was something she couldn't get past.

When she stopped talking, Hector's father patted her shoulder, "Well, don't think too much about it, better ask the kitchen to prepare some soup to replenish the blood, and let's go to the hospital." In any case, it is a fact that Eloise Thompson saved Solomon's life.

She should be grateful to them for that, for reasons of reason.

Hector's mother nodded, "OK, I'm on my way."

...

Eloise Thompson was taken to hospital where she had lost a lot of blood and had passed out.

"Somebody! Doctor, doctor!"

Hector Rogers ran into the emergency building with the man in his arms, in a panic and anxiety that was completely uncharacteristic of his usual mall demeanour.

Eloise Thompson was admitted to the operating theatre.

Hector Rogers stared intently at the door of the operating theatre, his ears ringing with her words on the road.

"Hector ..."

While on the road, Eloise Thompson clasped his hand and took a deep breath, "I'm sorry, it's all my fault, if I hadn't ..."

Her head pounded with pain from the wound and she rested for a moment before continuing, "If it wasn't for me, Solomon wouldn't have been kidnapped ... It's all my fault."

"It's not your fault." Hector Rogers brought her hand to his mouth and kissed it gently, "It's just a coincidence, nothing to do with you."

Eloise Thompson pulled up a weak smile, "So ... do you blame me then?"

"Grudge. I resent the fact that you shouldn't have been so cruel as to leave me and Solomon without saying goodbye."

"Sorry, I ..."

Eloise Thompson tried to say something else, but couldn't carry on and passed out.

"Eloise! Eloise!" said Hector Rogers, blushing suddenly and rushing to hold her close as he looked up to the driver in front of him and yelled, "Drive faster!"

The driver was startled and subconsciously stepped on the accelerator.

Rupert Rogers arrived at the hospital with Solomon to see his brother standing straight as a statue outside the operating theatre, wondering what he was thinking. "Brother."

Rupert Rogers walked over.

At the sound of the voice, Hector Rogers slowly looked back and his eyes flickered when he saw it was him, "What brings you here?" "Solomon and I were worried and came over to check it out."

Hector Rogers looked down and met Solomon's clear eyes before remembering that he was so worried about Eloise Thompson that he had forgotten about him. "Solomon," he knelt down and raised a hand to stroke Solomon's face, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips, "Is there anything hurt anywhere?" "No." Solomon shook his head, "Mummy held me close in her arms and I wasn't hurt."

Hearing this, Hector Rogers recalled the scene where Eloise Thompson was shot and his heart felt like it had been pounded hard, dull and aching. "Sister-in-law is really so brave." Rupert Rogers lamented.

He, a man, admired his sister-in-law's feat of sacrificing herself to save others.

Hector Rogers got up, turned his head towards the operating theatre and said in a quiet voice, "I'd rather she wasn't so brave."

He only wanted her and the child to be well, and he should be the one to hold back whatever the storm was.

But this time, he had put her in danger, and in the end, he had not done enough.

"Brother, although my sister-in-law is injured, it's a good thing that people are back."

Rupert Rogers thinks about things in a rather different way.

It was only when he said that that Hector Rogers realised that it was indeed the case, they hadn't known where the people were and now they were back on their own. This is perhaps what is known as a corker.
