Love Comes To Me
Chapter 185: Unspeakable Bitterness

Hector Rogers had an appointment with a client and was seated at the door when he entered. "President, isn't that Miss Eloise?"

Hector Rogers looked over and froze when he saw the familiar figure, not just Eloise Thompson, but a man sitting across from her, talking and laughing with Eloise Thompson and talking about who knows what. Hector Rogers frowned slightly and his mellow voice spoke up inquiringly, "What was that man?"

The assistant said she didn't know, "President, should we go and ask around?"

After a moment of contemplation, Hector Rogers nodded in agreement.

After the assistant left, the client Hector Rogers was to meet arrived and as the meal went on between the two parties, Hector Rogers looked at Eloise Thompson from time to time, assuming that Eloise Thompson was presumably there to meet the client as he knew the woman beside her was her assistant.

But come to think of it, Layla Davidson couldn't have been in such a hurry to give Eloise Thompson a job when she was only just injured, Hector Rogers wondered, but a moment later, the assistant returned with a look on his face that could hardly be described.

Hector Rogers interrupted his conversation with the client and spoke up to ask, "What's going on?"

The client didn't dare to say anything, after all, it was Hector Rogers sitting opposite him, so he didn't dare to take any offence.

The assistant's face was hesitant to tell their president or not.

Hector Rogers gave him a look and his cool voice spoke, "Speak."

The assistant was taken aback by the impatient tone and hurriedly spoke up, "President, Miss Eloise is on a blind date."

For a moment, Hector Rogers thought he had heard wrong... a blind date?

"Is it her blind date or her assistant?"

I think it was to accompany her assistant who remembered, Hector Rogers thought to himself.

"It's Miss Eloise," the assistant replied warily.

He was desperate too! This investigation turned up that Eloise Thompson was on a blind date. Miss Eloise, what did the president do to wrong you that you had to go on a blind date?

The point is, a blind date is a blind date, why choose to be bumped into by their president in this restaurant and now their president knows about it... The assistant really hates herself for being a cheap talker just now, why did she offer to find out what Eloise Thompson was doing for good reason.

For a moment, Hector Rogers' expression turned sombre as he narrowed his eyes slightly, Eloise Thompson had told herself something this morning, and this something was to come on a blind date?

Looking at the look on Hector Rogers' face, the assistant freaked out and had the feeling that their president wanted to go over and beat the man up.

Even the client sensed something was wrong and wondered what was going on, who was on a blind date? Of course, the client didn't even dare to say a word, because Hector Rogers was really scary at the moment.

Eloise Thompson kept her head down as she ate, she felt a vague gaze at her back and for some reason, felt a cool scent and turned her head to look over, she didn't see anything as she was several tables away. Was it just her imagination? Why did it always feel like someone was staring at her? Eloise Thompson couldn't help but frown slightly.

How could she possibly have imagined at this moment that Hector Rogers was also present at the restaurant and knew that she was on a blind date, such was the delicacy of their relationship.

Corey Brookins seemed to see that something was wrong with Eloise Thompson and spoke up with concern asking, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing." Eloise Thompson smiled and shook her head.

When the waiter settled the bill, Eloise Thompson had planned to pay herself or AA, as it was the first time we had met.

Corey Brookins laughed, "How can you make a girl pay? Tell you what, if you feel uncomfortable, next time it's on you, let me have the first chance!"

Eloise Thompson's feelings for Corey Brookins rose again, the man was really quite a gentleman and she was not in a position to rush to pay again.

"Shall I give you a lift?" Corey Brookins spoke up.

"Thank you Mr Corey, but no, my house is quite near here." Eloise Thompson said no, she didn't know them well enough to ask Corey Brookins to drive them back.

"Well then, we'll make an appointment some other time."

"Hmm."

Eloise Thompson nodded and left with Linn Dail.

As we walked, Linn Dail spoke up, "Eloise, you're so lucky to get such a good match, this Corey Brookins guy seems really nice."

Corey Brookins is a much better match than the first one he just met.

Eloise Thompson also thinks this Corey Brookins is pretty good, but at this point has some regrets in her heart.

It was because the man was nice that Eloise Thompson felt uneasy with regret; she was looking for someone to use as a shield, she was carrying an agenda, and she always felt sorry for people who did that. Eloise Thompson can't help but blame herself, there are so many ways to get away from Hector Rogers! Why did she come up with this bad idea?

Hey ... forget it, just let it happen!

The fact that Mr Hector is so good to you, I can see that he likes you a lot, and you, you actually like Mr Hector too, right? ... Eloise, in fact, Corey Brookins is good, but he may have come on a blind date with an agenda, and we don't know him, so why don't you consider Mr Hector or Mr Egbert?"

I don't know why, but Linn Dail had a feeling that Eloise Thompson liked Hector Rogers, even though she hadn't had much contact with him. Eloise Thompson looked surprised to see him there. These are only shown to people who like them.

These two people liked each other and it would have been a shame for Linn Dail if they hadn't got together.

"But you don't get to be together just because you like it!" Eloise Thompson sighed.

Linn Dail wondered, "Why? You like Mr Hector and Mr Hector likes you, there's just a big difference in status, but that's not a reason to stop you from being together!"

"Linn Dail, a lot of things aren't as simple as you think."

Eloise Thompson smiled faintly, looking a little helpless, if only it really was just a status gap between them, but six years ago... never could be erased.

Knowing that Eloise Thompson had something to hide, Linn Dail couldn't ask any more questions and she sighed.

"So Eloise, you better keep your eyes peeled, just in case this Corey Brookins is faking it too! Maybe she's gentle on the outside but scary on the inside, so be careful the next time you approach her!" "Okay."

Listening to Linn Dail's admonition, Eloise Thompson couldn't help but smile and feel Agnes' inside.
