Love Comes To Me
Chapter 109: Let's keep our distance

The Gardner Group and the Thompson Group, though saved, still have a bad reputation and are in a bad way, so how can they dare to go up to Hector Rogers when they see him?

Agnes Thompson is even angrier, having thought Eloise Thompson had been dumped and ended up slapping herself in the face.

Her face was tinged with a hint of gloom, why should she be subjected to all sorts of gossip all this time, especially those little sisters around her, everyone said she was a mistress and didn't want to be in contact with her anymore. But what about Eloise Thompson! She has such a quiet life and is still kind of hanging out with Hector Rogers.

Agnes Thompson gritted her teeth, she didn't believe it, Hector Rogers would get tired of playing with Eloise Thompson sooner or later and one day she would pay back all the bullying and humiliation she had suffered over the past few months.

...

Once outside the hospital, Eloise Thompson spoke up in confusion and asked, "What are you doing here?"

"Just happened to be passing by."

Eloise Thompson: "..."

How could Eloise Thompson believe that Layla Davidson was the only one who knew she was coming to the hospital when she happened to bump into her at the restaurant? But Layla Davidson and Hector Rogers didn't know each other! Why would she tell him?" she wondered, when she heard Hector Rogers' voice.

"Come on, let's go and have a meal together."

Eloise Thompson came back to her senses, her eyes flickering slightly, and after a moment she spoke lightly, "No, I'm tired, you go ahead, I'll go back."

Hector Rogers didn't push her either and pursed his lips, "I'll give you a lift."

"No, I can get back on my own."

At that, Hector Rogers looked at her with some suspicion, he pursed his lips and said, "What's wrong? In a bad mood?"

Was she still angry with herself for forcing a kiss on her at noon?

Eloise Thompson shook her head as if she had made up her mind and spoke, "Hector Rogers, let's just be friends from now on. I appreciate you helping me a lot before, but I don't want to bother you all the time now, and ... I have someone I like someone."

These are also the words that Eloise Thompson thought of saying just as she walked out of the hospital.

She and Hector Rogers, really can't go on like this...

At that, Hector Rogers' face froze and he stared at her intently, his clear voice asking, "Who is it?"

Noticing the hot glare, Eloise Thompson mustered up the courage to say, "Whoever it was, it wasn't you, Hector Rogers, and I recognise the difference between us and don't think too highly of myself.... I just didn't think it would end up like this."

Eloise Thompson took a deep breath and spoke again, "So I hope you'll respect me, Hector Rogers, and let's keep our distance from now on!"

Having said that, Eloise Thompson didn't dare to look him in the eye and left straight for the hospital entrance.

Hector Rogers stood transfixed, replaying what she had said.

Keeping her distance, why? Did she really not like herself? Or maybe he really likes someone else, who could it be, Egbert Chumley?

No wonder she's been deliberately avoiding herself these days, ignoring the texts he sends, not wanting to go to the office to find her, and leaving early ...

Hector Rogers lowered his brow, that feeling of not being able to find his way came over him for the first time, and he didn't even have the courage to go after Eloise Thompson and what to say when he got to her.... He stared hard at her back, and Hector Rogers' deep eyes flashed with a touch of loss; the first time he had been rejected, it had felt like this.

...

Eloise Thompson's eyes were slightly red and she forced herself not to look back at her. Feelings of guilt flooded through Eloise Thompson's mind as she kept saying sorry, sorry...

How could she have liked anyone else! It's always been him she's liked!

How can someone that good be disliked.

But also because of this, she cannot be selfish.

Touch after touch will only lead to a deeper fall for both of them and more entanglement in the future, and Eloise Thompson can only be ruthless at the moment.

She was sure that Hector Rogers would find something better, and that a woman like herself would never be in the same world as him.

Eloise Thompson walked home from the hospital, which was a long way from where she lived, and by the time she arrived it was dark.

When she reached the door, she realised that she had lost her keys. Eloise Thompson sighed and called the landlord to open the door for her.

When she entered the house, Eloise Thompson's entire body collapsed on the sofa, as if all her strength had been drained from her.

Will she and Hector Rogers never see each other again after today?

Before she said those words, Eloise Thompson should have felt relieved, but here she was, feeling overwhelmed.

Eloise Thompson drifted off to sleep on the sofa, dreaming of the events of the past two months that had come back to her so vividly.

The first time they met, he helped himself again and again, and Solomon ...

After sleeping for an unknown amount of time, Eloise Thompson was awakened by hunger and slowly opened her eyes, wiping the wetness from them.

Eloise Thompson's mouth curled up in a bitter smile, not realising she was dreaming about him.

It took her a while to get up and go to the kitchen to make something simple to eat.

Eloise Thompson felt like she was possessed, Hector Rogers' face came to mind over and over again, and she desperately tried to tell herself not to think about him, that they were just friends from now on, that there was no more relationship, but her heart was still out of control.

And with that, the latter part of the night was spent with Eloise Thompson completely losing sleep.

...

The following day, Rupert Rogers had just arrived at the office when he was pulled over by Thomas Ward, only to see her speak in a rush, "RupertRupert, you're finally here, something big has happened!"

Rupert Rogers looked at her with a puzzled look on his face and opened his mouth to ask, "What's wrong?"

"The president went to the bar last night and drank a lot, most of the night, called me to take him home, and today ..."

At this, Rupert Rogers frowned slightly, as far as he could remember, his brother wasn't one to drink a lot of booze, and quite a lot of it, what was going on here?

With confusion, Rupert Rogers opened the door to his office. The smell of smoke was strong and the room was smoky, and Hector Rogers was sitting at his desk, working on business, with a mountain of papers on his desk, as if he was going to finish all his work for the year ahead.

Rupert Rogers is well aware of his brother's personality.

Hector Rogers was in a bad mood and would torment his subordinates, nitpicking at work and demanding perfection.

Just as it was before she and her sister-in-law had problems.

And if he's in a really, really bad mood, it's not just his subordinates who suffer - Hector Rogers is so ruthless that he tortures himself.

Looking at the pile of papers, Rupert Rogers just felt bad, something big was happening again! His instincts told him that it had to do with Eloise Thompson.
