The sight that greeted them was a five-story building that seemed to have sprung up overnight.

It looked brand spanking new, yet it stood in stark contrast to its surroundings - a landscape dominated by barren soil and construction sites. Edna scoffed, "What kind of lab sets up shop here? Only Roseanne could pick such a spot to pull a fast one."

Babur, who had been relatively calm up until now, felt even more at ease.

Just some small-time tomfoolery, trying to stir up attention from the university? How naïve!

"Let's head out. Nothing to see here. Total waste of a trip," Edna muttered.

Just as the group was about to hop back into their car and leave

"Hey, isn't that Babur?" A cheerful voice called out from not too far away. An elderly man was waving at Babur with a smile.

Babur squinted and then his eyes widened in shock, "Mr. Lorenzo?! What are you doing here?!"

Mr. Lorenzo was a legend in the Computer Science department at Kingswell University, long since retired.

Babur had taken his course during his undergrad years and had stayed on as a faculty member, turning their relationship from that of student and teacher to colleagues. They had remained on good terms. Just last week, Babur had called to check in on Lorenzo.

"Weren't you off to Thornhaven for the winter? How come..."

Lorenzo chuckled, "Couldn't get used to it. After spending a lifetime in Lumina City, everywhere else just seems lacking."

"And you're here because?"

"Oh, Hans invited me to check out the excitement. So, here I am, joining the crowd."

"Excitement? What excitement?"

Lorenzo beamed, "The lab's opening ceremony."

Babur felt a jolt of surprise, "A bit of student mischief managed to draw you out? These kids, I swear..."

He had assumed Mr. Lorenzo was invited by Roseanne.

To think she managed to get him involved!

"All this fuss, and to think about the hassle of wrapping it up later... It'll probably fall on us teachers to clean up the mess..."

Babur shook his head as he scanned the desolate surroundings once again.

Lorenzo, looking puzzled, furrowed his brows, "A fuss? The first

student-led, fully autonomous smart bio-lab in the country. It's unprecedented in Kingswell

University's history. How is this just a fuss?"

Babur retorted, "This barren land? You call this a lab?"

And a smart bio-lab, no less...

Such big talk, he thought, almost ready to laugh.

"You see barren land?" Lorenzo questioned his sanity, pointing at the building behind him, "Five floors, each with its own dedicated function, state-of-the-art experiment environment, and equipment so advanced, most of it's imported..."

By the end, even he sounded envious.

He had never worked in such a high-tech lab before...

Babur, staring at the building as if seeing a ghost, exclaimed, "You're saying Roseanne built this lab?!"

"That she did. Looks a bit desolate

around here because we're at the back.

You want to see the action, just follow this path around to the

front..."

Lorenzo's curiosity about the lab was insatiable. After touring the inside, he'd sneaked out back, half-hoping to discover something else exciting.

And that's when he bumped into Babur and the group...

As Babur and the others made their way to the front, they were greeted by the lively sounds of a crowd, peppered with congratulations and admiration.

Edna was just as stunned, her mouth agape, everything feeling so surreal.

But no matter how many times she blinked, everything remained. It was real.

Roseanne and her team had actually built a lab. Not just any lab, but a whole building!

How was this possible?

Slater was dumbfounded too.

He had come along just to mock Roseanne and her team, his taunts ready. But... no one told him there was actually a lab!

"How did they pull this off?" Slater mumbled, usually so quick-witted, now at a loss for words, just staring at the newly erected building.

Hertha's expression wasn't any better.
