He squinted his gradually darkening eyes and asked tentatively, "So his name is Erik! I met this assistant once at Sanctum Mary Medical, when his boss had sent him to admit a pregnant woman.

I know him. Now that pregnant woman is in danger. Could you ask him to come down and meet me so I can relay the message? Or perhaps you could ask his boss to come down instead."

One of the security guards looked puzzled, "But Erik's out of town on business. You know him, don't you? How come you're not aware of his whereabouts?"

Another guard shifted his gaze, immediately stepping in front of Ludwik with suspicion, "Sir, your identity is unclear, and you're definitely not a friend of Erik. What exactly are you trying to find out? Take your money and leave; we can't disclose any employee information to you. If you don't leave now, we're within our rights to pull a gun on you!"

Whoosh-

In a country where guns are freely accessible, a weapon was pointed straight at Ludwik's forehead.

Ludwik chuckled, unfazed, and took a half-step back.

He hadn't anticipated this; the Inko Corporation building was like a fortress. He couldn't get in, and all information was tightly sealed off inside.

If it was going to be this difficult, he'd have to contact Phineas, the seasoned director of the Harmonia branch. Surely he would know who the top executives and chairpersons were within the main conglomerate? From Phineas's lips, he should be able to uncover this 'mysterious person'.

However, he and Phineas weren't exactly close. The last time he'd asked Phineas for help dealing with Bryce and the Patrick family, Parker had interfered, causing quite a bit of dissatisfaction from Phineas. This time, he'd have to go through Parker again.

With a determined look, Ludwik turned away from the Inko building and took out his phone to call Parker, hoping to explain the situation and ask him to personally inquire with his uncle. "Parker"

The call connected, and Ludwik's deep voice traveled through.

Parker was taken aback, then burst out, "Ludwik! You finally decided to reach out! Felix said you left your phone back home, not even Whitney had a way to contact you, only Sammy could reach you!" Ludwik replied, "I'm currently in Germinia, I need your help."

"You went to Eurovoria to catch Florence, right? I had to rush back to Banyan City suddenly, Ashton didn't quite explain what was going on. So, you're in Germinia now, did you find her?"

"I did. Turns out she's up to no good, so I need to ask your uncle, Phineas, about something regarding the Germinia Inko Group. Can you make a trip to Emperor City and see him?"

After Ludwik finished speaking, Parker went silent for a moment, his breathing tense.

Ludwik sensed something was wrong, "Parker! What happened?"

"Ludwik, my uncle's been attacked, just last night! I'm rushing to Emperor City as we speak. His family contacted me overnight, and I've had to leave Tiana behind without knowing if he's alive or dead!" "What?" Ludwik felt as though a bucket of cold water had been dumped on him.

He was incredulous, his brows furrowed, "You mean Phineas has been attacked? Just like that, out of the blue?"

"Yes, it happened last night, so suddenly!

My uncle holds a high position at Inko Group and has connections to the president. Who would dare attack him, and how was it successful? I'm in the dark until I reach Emperor City.

This is so suspicious. If I catch the culprit, I swear I'll make them pay, damn it!"

Listening to Parker's raging fury, Ludwik's thoughts churned before calming down.

His eyes, now icy, suddenly interrupted Parker, "I think it's linked to Bryce, if not the Patrick family."

"What do you mean, Ludwik?"

"It's related to my being in Germinia! I just caught Florence here, and it's no coincidence Phineas was attacked now. Parker, hurry to Emperor City. If it's Bryce's doing...

He already made a move against Sammy and Danny a few days ago!

He's trying to force me back home, likely planning to take down the Lippert family while I'm away.

The Lippert Group is currently supported by Inko Group. His attacking Phineas makes complete sense.

Or there could be another reason!

Damn, Florence...!"

Suddenly recalling something, Ludwik's eyes flashed with a thought. He immediately turned and ran towards the curb, hailing a taxi, "Parker, I'll be back as soon as possible. Until then, you must ensure Whitney and her son are safe, and hold down the fort in Emperor City."

"Ludwik...Ludwik?"

The call had already been cut off.

Parker, with a cold and troubled frown, sat in the aircraft cabin, completely bewildered by Ludwik's words. What had he experienced in Germinia? How could his uncle's attack be linked to his stay there?

If Bryce was behind this, his audacity knew no bounds- a bankrupt with a death wish!

But now, with his uncle in the hospital, fighting for his life, he was anxious.

And he also felt a pang of regret. While he stayed in Banyan City with pregnant Tiana, he had overlooked the situation in Emperor City. His uncle held such a prestigious position in Harmonia Country, and now he was in trouble.

Parker sensed a storm brewing in Emperor City.

With a cold gaze out the window, he braced himself for what was to come.

Ashton was spread too thin and couldn't make it to Emperor City to lend a hand. Just a couple of days ago, Nolan Fuller astonishingly brought back Valerie Bartels, who had vanished off the face of the earth. And to everyone's shock, Valerie had a daughter in her arms! Ashton was floored. At first, he suspected that the child might be the result of Valerie's fling with another man.

That earned him a few hard slaps from Beckford Fuller. Served him right!

The little girl, it turned out, had a serious heart condition...

Tiana was heartbroken to hear it.

The Fuller family was in utter chaos now. Beckford wanted to acknowledge his granddaughter and give her the best care possible, while Valerie only wanted to use the Fuller family's medical resources. She was adamant about not remarrying and even refused to let Ashton acknowledge the child, choosing to live on her own.

The situation was at a stalemate, but Ashton, in his foolishness, still hadn't dealt with Elaine Bartels.

Parker, being an outsider, couldn't get involved.

Tiana was worried. As long as Elaine was alive, that venomous woman would always be a potential threat to Valerie and her daughter...

Parker felt the same way.

But at the moment, the situation with the uncle in Emperor City and Ludwik took precedence.

Ludwik was right; with the uncle down, the dynamics in Emperor City-Bryce and the Patrick family were likely to stir trouble. Ludwik needed to return to take charge. When would he be back?

Parker wanted to call Ludwik, but his calls went unanswered.

Ludwik rushed back to the hospital!

His eyes were icy as he sought information about the upper echelons of the Inko Group, his only lead through Phineas. But Phineas had met with a mysterious accident the night before! Logically, Bryce shouldn't know he was in Germinia yet.

Florence was under his control; she couldn't possibly contact Bryce and make covert moves.

But the situation had deteriorated unexpectedly.

There must be a mole.

What had Florence done?
