Love Began with the First Meeting -
Chapter 817 Say You Love Me! (Part Two)
Brian looked into Molly's tear-stained eyes and asked in surprise, "That was you? Mol, was it you on the Dragon Mountain all those years ago?"
Molly sucked in a huge breath and raised her chin up. For the first time in her life, she didn't give a shit about what Brian would think of her and said brazenly as she looked him square in the eye, "That day, you told me that you would never forget my help. You said that you would surely return the favor some day, didn't you?"
"So, you are the girl I had met on the Dragon Mountain?" Brian asked again, not daring to remove his gaze from Molly even for a split-second, lest he miss any expression on her face which would confirm his question. He was so eager to know the truth that he asked again, "Mol, you are the little girl, aren't you?"
"I remember everything now - how I had helped you and how you had promised to repay the debt. Are you going to abide by your promise or disown it, Bri?" Molly looked at Brian with her confident eyes. The tears in her eyes sparkled like white pearls. Sniffing, she continued, "If you're going to abide by your promise, then this is the time for it." She sounded tougher than she had ever been and Brian couldn't say anything to her in his defense. "You're important to this country. Since I helped you and did your country a huge favor, the only way you can repay me is by marrying me and taking good care of me for the rest of your life!"
Molly demanded like a spoiled girl, who was unwilling to hand over her favorite toy. This time she wasn't going to let go of the opportunity which might bring Brian back to her, once and for all. She'd rather choose to be brazen than keep her usual shy attitude. Brian's eyes turned softer as he stared at the woman in front of him. His lips curled into a small smile, breaking his mask of indifference. He lifted his hand and gently touched her tear-tainted face. He said in a low tone, "Since you're being so unreasonable and insist that marriage is the only way to repay you, I have no reason or excuse to let you go again."
"Bri," Molly beamed in excitement as his caress touched a toughened cord in her heart. She questioned him further, even though he had made his stand clear, "Do you love me? Do you... Do you love me so much that you could never afford to leave me again?" Brian froze and his hands that were wiping away Molly's tears stopped suddenly as well. He loved Molly more than he loved himself and he would do anything for her. He would even die for her. But to actually speak those words out, that was awkward! He was not a romantic man.
He furrowed his brows, and looked at Molly with a strange expression which perplexed her. She, of course, had no idea what kind of struggle Brian was undergoing in his heart. He was getting himself psychologically prepared for the promise of love. His lips moved slightly, ready to say it. Those words were at the tip of his tongue! But he couldn't!
A complicated feeling had filled Brian's heart now. He had no idea how to express his love towards Molly. All this time, he had thought that it was Becky who had helped him many years ago in the Dragon Mountain. But today, the long hidden truth had finally come to light. It was Molly all along! Molly was the one he should feel grateful to and treat preciously. His love for Molly and his gratitude for her overlapped to produce a feeling of happiness that was so strong and so unexpected that he lost his ability to speak. It was at this moment that he heard Molly's voice, "Will you die if you say that you love me, Bri? You love me, but you have never said those words to me! How would I know and believe that you really love me if you don't say it?" More tears rushed out of Molly's eyes when Brian stayed silent. She looked at him through her misty eyes and grumbled between sobs, "There are so many women waiting to win your heart. They are more beautiful than me and have a family much better than mine. They are better suited to you than I could ever be. I'm nothing compared to them! And when these women came between us, you behaved as if you love them more than you love me!"
Molly felt a stabbing pain in her heart when she remembered all those women who had tried to separate her from Brian. Actually, she had learned some great tips from Golden Flower No. 3 about how to make the man feel guilty about his unfaithful conducts in love and thus arouse his sympathy towards her. She was planning to use all of them to soften Brian's heart. But the more she talked about Brian's history, the sadder she grew. "If you are unwilling to say that you love me, I'm afraid that I'll lose confidence in you again. And then--" Molly couldn't finish her sentence as her lips were already covered by Brian's. He put his hands on the back of her head and pressed it tightly against his face. It happened so unexpected that Molly had forgotten how to respond. She just looked dazedly at him until he pulled her closer to him and both of their lips were interwoven tightly. The fervent kisses sealed all those unsaid words.
Along the sweetness of the kisses was the salty taste of the tears. Brian's lips caressed Molly's lips in a gentle teasing manner. The smell of his breath immediately encroached every cell in her mouth after she opened it to welcome him. "Mol, I love you..."
She heard the low coarse murmur. Low as it was, it sounded like the roaring of a thunder in her ear. She looked at Brian wide-eyed, as if an electric shock had run through her body.
Molly's face turned tomato red for the first time that night. Brian looked at her reddened face and said in a playful voice, "You were well planned to hold me responsible for the rest of your life and you have done a good job carrying out your plan with a brazen face. I'm surprised, however, that you still know how to blush."
"Me? Well planned? Brazen face? I don't know what you're talking about. I haven't done anything," Molly said, frowning. When she noticed that Brian was just playing with her, she glared at him and shouted, "You're the one who wanted to show your gratitude by marrying me!"
"All right, it was me. I'm yours, Mol. Forever..." Brian said before pressing his lips against hers again.
The bamboo leaves rustled in the light wind.
The bright moon shed its pure light on the two lovers in the car, as they showed their love and desire towards each other in the most primitive way. 00000
