Love Began with the First Meeting -
Chapter 1342 Extra Story 97 Of Edgar The Trip To Dragon Island
The teacher and instructor walked straight to the bulletin board. With the help of the operator on duty, the two of them then posted the score sheets on the board. After that, the instructor then turned and stood facing the students. With a glance at all the students assembled in front of him, he put a big smile on his face and stated, "So, these are the outcomes of the test. And we have encountered so many surprises in the results this year. I hope you have all prepared yourselves mentally, before you get your scores. And most importantly, you have to reflect on your own experience if you get a good score while those who received a less than perfect score should then find out your shortcomings and overcome them thoroughly. Well, at the beginning of our new school year after the holiday, all the students of both the junior college and undergraduates have to finish their report and submit it to their class teacher. And those who will be participating in the extra training during the holiday, the graduates, the master's, and doctoral students should all hand in their reports to Instructor Edgar after three days."
As the instructor was giving his speech, Maggie suddenly ceased selecting moves in the mobile game which she had been playing. She looked up at the instructor with a slight twist to her mouth, as if she was feeling super awkward. Deep in her mind, she had a strong suspicion that the report which the instructor had just mentioned must have been suggested by Edgar, which would be exactly the type of thing that he would do. Since there was a report which she now had to finish before the three-day holiday ended, it effectively meant that no matter whether she won or not, she would have extra work to do. 'Oh, come on! Really?! An extra report to finish?' thought Maggie helplessly and sighed.
"Hey, let's go and take a look at the list. What are you two waiting for?" said Benjamin as he quickly pulled both Maggie and Monica along towards the bulletin board after the instructor and the teacher had gone. Within just a few seconds, the three of them stood in front of the bulletin board.
Maggie's goal was simple and clear. That was why she looked straight for the first place, without wasting any time on any other places on the list. Her eyes widened gradually as she reached the top of the list. And soon, there was a smile forming on the edge of her lips, then the smile spread to her eyes in an instant.
"Come on! Your score is only half a point higher than that of the second place. Do you have to be so smug?" Monica said jealously. After a quick pause, she added, "How could that be? How did my ranking drop six places with this test? I can't believe that it just happened to me!" "Well, in my point of view, you really did not focus on your studying lately," Maggie replied as she shook her head slightly. Her heart was filled with joy at this moment. After a glance at Monica's ranking, she continued, "But there is one thing which I can't figure out. How come Benjamin is one or two places lower than you in the ranking every time? How can he possibly manage to do this the whole time? Isn't it difficult to maintain such a record?" As she was speaking, she gave Monica a meaningful look as if she was implying something else.
However, Monica seemed not to notice Maggie's implications at all. At this moment, she only cared about her score and ranking, and was really upset by the outcome. Morally up right as she was, it was a thunderbolt strike that she had gone backward in her studying. With her head still shaking, she then looked up as if she was asking the sky, "Oh my! Isn't it really unfair that the one who gets first place gets to have a big prize, while the others are left sad and dejected, only able to compare their differences with the number one? It's really unfair!" As Monica was giving her sad little speech, Maggie could only let out a mental sigh for she knew that nothing she could say would help since Monica might need some time to digest her weaker result. Then, Maggie turned her head to look at Benjamin, and whispered in his ear as she got a little bit closer to him, "Just keep fighting until you get what you want, okay?" After finishing her words, Maggie stole a furtive glance at Monica, then gave Benjamin a meaningful smile. She stated, "You guys enjoy your scores in the test. And remember to make a summary on your experience as the instructor said. I, as the winner, am going to have fun now. Ha-ha!" Maggie then turned and rushed off to go pack.
"Oh, Maggie Du, are you serious?" shouted Monica as she watched Maggie's disappearing back while clenching her teeth. Promptly, Benjamin then stepped close to stand by Monica's side, and said, "Hoes before Bros! Maggie Du, you're really a false friend!" "Ah..." Both Maggie and Benjamin then spontaneously heaved a heavy sigh. They turned and looked at their ranking for the last time as if to see whether there were some changes on the list. However, in the end, they both left with their shoulders hanging. Unlike Maggie, both Monica and Benjamin were single and to complete the insult, they now also had low rankings. While Maggie was going to have fun with her husband, the two of them could only look at each other with constant sighs, and were going to idle away their holidays. Under the jealous gaze of Monica and Benjamin, Maggie left with her backpack and was happily off to Dragon Island with her "Uncle Three." There was no straight flight between S City and Dragon Island, so Edgar and Maggie arrived in T City first. And then they took a private plane to Dragon Island.
Deep in Maggie's heart, she had been quite interested in the historical Dragon Island for a long time. Dragon Island had almost the same long history as Z Country. With the spoony legend of the wealthy Dragon family, no wonder nearly every girl all over the world was so interested in this special island.
"Hey, Uncle Three?" Maggie teased.
"Yes?" Edgar answered as he kept his eyes fixed on the magazine which he was reading, with his hand flicking through the glossy pages.
Maggie glanced around the luxurious facilities of the private plane which serviced Dragon Island and continued, "Isn't this kind of service too luxurious for us?"
Edgar frowned a little bit as he heard Maggie's words. He looked up from the magazine and then looked at her for quite a while, before replying, "In fact, a senior military officer might not have received treatment like this." Noticing the confused look on Maggie's face, he instantly read her mind. So he continued to glance at the magazine and added in a neutral tone, "This is private treatment for us though."
After hearing his explanation, Maggie tried her best for a while to figure it out. Then, with her eyes widening, she questioned, "Uncle Three, so, this private treatment..." When Edgar raised his head and looked at her again, she added, "Is this private treatment being provided by Mr. Eric Long, or by Molly?"
He could not help but frown at Maggie's wording of the question. Looking at her with a puzzled face, he queried, "You women do really care about men's past relationships, don't you?"
Maggie was taken aback since she had not expected that Edgar would ask such a question, instead of replying to her at this moment. She quickly put on an angry face and mouthed, "Don't you guys worry about the same things as we women do?"☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
