Love Began with the First Meeting -
Chapter 1312 Extra Story 67 Of Edgar Love And Happiness
Edgar was laughing and talking to Wilson when Maggie walked up to him.
"Edgar, you should be brave, okay? Don't be too reserved or rigid. Most of the girls nowadays are liberated ones. I think you can try some intimacy. Maybe you can kiss her or even do something more. You're not getting any younger, but you know nearly nothing about romance.
You have waited too long to find this girl. Plus you and Maggie have a big age difference. She is much younger than you. She has more suitable choices open, but she's chosen you. Just love her and cherish her. I sincerely hope you'll be happy with her," Wilson expressed his feelings on the matter to Edgar. Edgar turned around and saw Maggie. "Okay, that sounds reasonable. I'll take Maggie out for dinner. I can ask the restaurant to send some takeout for you, if you want," Edgar suggested with a cheerful smile. "Thank you so much for thinking of me. It's so nice of you, Edgar. When I see you happy, it makes me happy. So can I have some wine? I'm not on duty today," Wilson replied.
"Yeah, no problem," Edgar said, smiling.
"Wilson, good evening," Maggie greeted him, smiling with barely contained excitement. She felt a little embarrassed in front of Wilson, because he had witnessed her childish behavior earlier during the afternoon.
Wilson happily nodded and then went back into the guardhouse. He watched them getting in the car as he took out his phone. Then, he gave William a call.
"Wilson, I haven't heard from you in a while. What's up? Is everything okay? Oh, wait a minute. I remembered you are working at Maggie's university. Is she okay? Wilson, are you still there? My heart isn't strong enough. Don't scare me!" William said as he stopped writing at his desk and dropped his pen in fright.
"Oh, come on. Can't you say something good? I wanted to share some good news with you. But now, I've changed my mind. I'll keep my happiness to myself," Wilson teased him.
"Oh, Wilson, don't do that. I'm sorry. I apologize for being so negative. Now, can you tell me what the good news is?" William quickly interrupted him.
Wilson had a high-powered career when he was younger. But now, he just wanted to have some quality time with his family and enjoy his golden years. He hoped that Maggie would be happy with Edgar.
"I just saw Maggie and Edgar go out to dinner! I think very highly of them both!" Wilson said, laughing.
"What? Really? Did he come to her?" William asked. His eyes lit up when he heard Wilson's news. "Yeah, he came here at noon. He also asked for leave for Maggie. They left just a few minutes ago. I heard that the university wanted Edgar to start a new career here. Is that true? What do you think?" Wilson added then, as he recalled the rumor.
William understood what Wilson was asking. "Yes, it's true. I told him about this and he said that he wants to think it over. You know, the army needs him. He can't get away easily," he replied.
"Oh, come on. You can't fool me, William. You don't even want him to leave the army. Am I right?" Wilson nailed him.
William began to laugh when he heard these words. "Yes, you're right. The army has put a lot of work into cultivating Edgar. If he leaves the army for a second time, I'm afraid that he will not come back again," he explained seriously.
"That sounds reasonable. We can discuss this issue in the future. So how do you feel about Maggie and Edgar? Tell me the truth now," Wilson inquired earnestly.
"Maggie and Edgar? I'll support them. I want them to be happy in their future. Edgar grew up before my eyes. He is honorable and a just man. Maggie has made a right choice. I'm sure that they'll be a wonderful couple," William said with a happy smile on his face.
But life was like a box of chocolates. No one knew what he or she was going to get. That was the funny thing about destiny. Edgar often went on dangerous missions, which was worrisome.
But at this moment though, Maggie was very happy. She sat in the car and thought about what they were going to eat. She wanted to try a newly opened restaurant nearby. But while she was wandering off in her own thoughts, they stopped at the traffic light and Edgar took out a bunch of flowers from behind his seat.
The flowers were not roses or lilies. They were orange alocasia.
Maggie didn't know much about the language of flowers. She just knew these held some significance. She was unsure of the meaning of the flowers in front of her.
She had only ever seen the white alocasia before. Orange was not a common color for this flower.
"Is it a gift for me? Thank you. They are very beautiful. But I don't know the meaning of this kind of flower," Maggie said, looking stunned. Edgar focused on driving the car and suggested in a low voice, "Maybe you can check it online?"
Maggie unlocked her phone and typed in the key words. She was a little scared and a little anxious, because she didn't know what would show up on her phone's screen. But when she saw the answer, tears blurred her sight. Her eyes misted over and she shed a warm tear.
The orange alocasia represented love.
The meaning of this flower was, 'I will love you until the last breath leaves my body'.
It was so sweet and so romantic. Maggie cleared her throat and wiped away her tears.
"I got nothing in the online search. Can you tell me in person?" she asked, tipping him a wink. 00000
