Love Began with the First Meeting
Chapter 1009 Extra Story 147 Of Aaron A Proposal

"It will surely fit Mrs. Molly Long well,"

a low and deep voice came through from the door all of a sudden, startling Ximena. Quickly, she raised her head to look at the direction of the voice and she saw Aaron, leaning on the doorway, like a cool teenager. With a pained expression due to her being badly surprised, she asked Aaron in an exasperated voice, "When did you come?"

"When you were thinking about which color to use to fill the sketch," Aaron answered, sitting on a chair. "Blue suits Mrs. Molly Long very well."

"How did you know that this is for Molly?" Ximena said, surprised.

Shrugging, Aaron said, "Mr. Brian Long called me. He told me that he and Molly will hold their wedding ceremony in Dragon Island next week. He said he hopes that I can go there together with you." "Then?" Ximena asked.

"I'm afraid that I will disappoint both him and you..." Aaron answered with a tinge of helplessness. "I have to fly abroad on the very day of their wedding." Seeing the expression of disappointment that flashed across Ximena's eyes, Aaron stood up from the chair and walked towards Ximena. When he reached her, he raised his hand to stroke her cheek softly. "I'm sorry that I can't go there with you," he apologized.

Although she had already known that he was unlikely to attend Molly and Brian's wedding ceremony, she had hoped he would manage to accompany her. Therefore, she inevitably felt a bit disappointed to hear his answer. Taking a deep breath, she said, "You know what, don't mind it. I know you also don't want to go abroad that day."

Smiling at Aaron, she said, "Well then, let's go to have dinner." Aaron nodded and pulled Ximena to stand up. They walked out of her office together.

Meanwhile, the enticing smell of the food being prepared was drifting from the big conference room. Freya was good at cooking. For the employees, the happiest part of working overtime at "Only Memory" was eating the delicious food cooked by her.

In order to prevent the employees from feeling shy and self-conscious at the presence of Aaron, he and Ximena didn't eat together with them. Instead, the two of them had dinner in the tea room. Freya stayed with the staff.

When the food was served, Aaron carefully picked up a crab, shelled it, and took the crab roe out for Ximena. "I have to go back to the company after this," he said, wiping his hands with a piece of napkin. "Something came up in the tube-shaped buildings. I have to go there and have a look." Reporting to Ximena what he had done and what he was going to do every day quickly became a habit of his.

"Hum?" Ximena frowned in confusion. Despite the years that had passed, she had not, even for a single moment, forgotten the time she had been in the tube-shaped building.

Gazing at Ximena, Aaron explained, "There is something wrong with a unit of cargo. Two parties are fighting severely against each other for it. I have to go there to settle the conflict." Now that QY Island was gradually getting back on the right track, Aaron made sure that no rifts between any party would cause the disruption of the peace in the island.

"I see," Ximena answered, pursing her mouth. "Then I will cook soup in the evening. You can eat it when you come back."

Hearing that, a smile warm, loving smiled appeared on Aaron's lips. "Okay!" he said. The last time she had tried to cook a meal for him, she had nearly burnt the kitchen. As the memory came to his mind, Aaron could not help but chuckle. Since then, Ximena had never entered the kitchen. However, determined to get back to cooking, she had studied how to cook soup under Freya. To be fair, she was a good student and now, she was quite good at cooking soup.

"Then, I'm going to T City the day after tomorrow," Aaron said before he took another bite of the crab. "I will drop by Dragon Island in advance of the wedding. Would you like to go there together with me or would you rather go there later alone?"

After thinking for a short while, Ximena frowned slightly and answered, "It's not possible to finish tailoring the dress the day after tomorrow." Curling her lips, she sighed and continued, "Well, I think I'd have to go there later by myself. Besides, if I arrive a little too early, I'm afraid that I will bother Molly. She has to accompany me but then she must have too many things to prepare for the wedding."

"Okay!" Aaron said with a faint smile on his lips. After removing the sliced scallions that Ximena deeply hated, he placed her some fish meat on the plate in front of her.

Ximena began eating the fish, taking Aaron's care for granted, as if she didn't think there was anything unusual. That was exactly how people's habits worked. If somebody treated you well, you would be moved in the beginning, but later you would not feel anything towards it since you got used to it.

Aaron liked Ximena having such a habit. He liked her to take his care for her for granted, because it made him so happy that Ximena was very comfortable around him. They had agreed to try things out for two years. During that period of time, although she had not completely given up the attempt to explore what had happened in the past, it was clear to him that she had been trying not to.

Seeing that Ximena enjoyed eating the fish he gave her very much, Aaron enjoyed removing fish bones for her too. After being together for so many years, they hadn't moved forward. However, Aaron felt okay with the current situation. That was how life was like. He was satisfied as long as Ximena was by his side everyday.

But then, every human being was greedy. And he was no exception to that.

As Ximena was savoring her meal and enjoying talking to Aaron, Aaron felt something in him stir. Seeing her like this, Aaron's eyes gradually reflective. While his face looked calm and collected, there was a roaring inside him that he could not control.

All of it was because an idea came to his mind. His heart was beating fast, as if it was trying to rush out of his chest. He tried his best to put a restraint on his underlying desire to ask Ximena a question as he was afraid that once he asked the question, the peaceful happiness that they had then would abruptly come to an end and would be replaced by an atmosphere of tension and awkwardness. However, as every second passed, the feeling was getting harder and harder to suppress.

"Ximena," Aaron called her name softly and suddenly, pausing taking off the bones on the fish. Confused, Ximena raised her head to look at him, and her eyes met his meaningful stare. After taking a deep breath discretely, he asked, slowly, "If...I propose to you too..." I propose to you too..." Hearing that, Ximena could not help but open her mouth. As odd as it might sound, she felt her pupils dilate. She was astonished. Seeing the expression on her face, Aaron chose to continue and brave the storm. "Will you...accept my proposal?"00
