After Genesis had her bath and first feeding, I took her and have been selfishly hogging her for the pa "Maybe, but eventually doesn't have to be right now. Plus, she's comfortable and happy with me." "How do you know she won't be comfortable with anyone else? Like our mothers?"

I pulled my eyes from the baby's sleeping face to see both Nancy and my mom staring daggers at me. "Fine. Ten minutes, then I want her back," I said while gently placing Genesis in Nancy's arms.

The ladies melted at seeing their granddaughter up close, and it was obvious that she was going to be "I feel like I've already been replaced as your number one love, and it didn't even take three full hours "You could never be replaced, but there's space for the both of you at the top."

I leaned down and gave her a deep, passionate kiss. She'd just given me the greatest gift. My daughter "You know you're not getting that baby back anytime soon, right?" "Yeah, I know. It was worth a shot, though."

I rummaged through Taylor's bag and pulled out her brush, then began running it through her hair. Sh I heard her hum in appreciation and slowly relax into the bed. Within a few minutes, she had fallen in "Matthew, she's gorgeous. You and Taylor did good, so we're going to need about three or four more o "Thanks, Dad, but you'll have to discuss the future babies with Taylor. I don't think she'd share your er "Sure, she would. Genesis was passed around for another hour or so before a nurse came to take her to the nursery forests. I sent the parents up to the second floor to settle into their rooms before breakfast. Even though they lived no more than an hour away, I was sure that they would be staying for at least a couple of days.

After everyone was settled, I took the opportunity to go and find the baby for some daddy-daughter time. I easily found her by following the sounds of the few nurses we had cooing in a small room.

When I walked in, Dr. Bennett was wrapping her up and writing notes on her clipboard.

"How is she? Can I take her back to the room now?"

"Yes, Gamma, you can take her. All her tests are done, and she's in perfect health."

She placed her in my arms, and I once again looked down into her incredible eyes.

"They've drawn you in too, huh? I've never seen eyes like hers before. She's a very rare and special little gift," she told me.

"She really is. I can't believe she's mine."

"Take good care of her. I have a feeling she's going to do great things for our pack."
